The person that told you that a diet of 1600-1800 calories will help you get a six pack is probably right. HOWEVER in order to get to the point where you actually have a six pack, you have to BUILD THE MUSCLES!!!!... which means you have to eat and lift weights. Cutting calories at this point is not going to do you any good. You'll end up skinny, with even more bones sticking out and then people are really going to think that you are either sick or have an eating disorder.

I've been trying to help you for well over a month now. Right now I feel like you haven't learned a thing and I'm not even sure if you read responses to your questions. There are many other people on this site that I would like to help, but instead i've been spending a great deal of time trying to help you and I feel like I've gotten no where. I'm going to take a break from this thread as I'm obviosly wasting time. patience is gone and I feel defeated because I've tried so hard to help you and have gotten nowhere.

Take care and good luck.

Cassie im really sorry you feel that way, i know you have spent a massive time and dedication on me, i was just asking about that as i was also intrested in getting a six pack. I really do read all your responces, sometimes 3-4 times and this is all true. You seem really annoyed at the moment? I'm sorry if you took it this way, but however i do belive ive learnt things, ive learnt alot about nutrition, about how to build muscle.

I suppose i can see where your coming from if your helping me on building muscle and im asking you about something else which you have already said.

I'm sorry that ive annoyed you, and hopefully you could forgive me?

Sorry yet again and thanks so much for all your hardwork, even if you decide to not continue on this thread id like to thank you alot, even though i haven't yet seen the results i wanted, you have stuck with me for over a month now, out of your own time, and i can only say thank you very much :)

Edit: updated post above.

Also, Cassie, if you are still intrested in this thread, what would you advise, for times like now, in the evening, more than likely eating 2000 calories a day but hungry, if you eat late at night its worse right?

The thing is Martin, you've been given a lot of answers to stuff, and it's been a case of but what if this, but what if that, I'm concerend about that etc etc.

No one doubts you've learned, but it's a case of putting stuff into practice. You've been doing that, which you should be proud of, but at the same time, you've been questioning everything you're doing, like almost every Cardio session, a lot of your meals, as if everything you're doing, has the potential to fall through.

Some poeple do do inadequate diet and workout plans, usually from trying to do it themselves with little help, but they usually plod on regardless until such time as they realise it's not working, they don't start questioning half their meals, and many of their Cardio sessions.

I've tried workout stuff before, that I realised didn't workout, but I realised that after 4-6 weeks. I didn't start wondering every time I did some weights, if a soon to be worthless plan, was actually going to work, I learned from it, and moved on in time.

That was years ago.

You've been getting the kind of help you need, but it's a question of getting a few answers to questions, then letting it all happen. You've been coming across as a bit paranoid, by saying stuff like I did a Cardio session, but I'm not if it did any good, or I tried to eat the right stuff, but I'm still not sure I'm getting enough calories.

We can help you, but you've got to help yourself, by being able to keep doing what is right for you, for a long period of time, without worrying, a lot that things you do, might not work.

It's like you want to actually see something happening, when you workout, to reassure you, which is impossible.

Might be nice to start working out, and see a bit of Fat dissapear, but nobody has x-ray vision.

I'm not being rude, but I'm just trying to get you to understand, that you need more belief in yourself, because you've been working out for a month, or so, but you've bene kind of worrying too much about every bit of Fat, bone, Ab muscle etc etc, as if everything you eat and drink and do, is likely to backfire on you, and make things worse.

I know you're a not a bad guy, and whatever Cassie has tried to do, you've always shown respect, and courtesy, but you need to have more belief in yourself, and don't be so concerned by what you're doing.

So just chill out a bit, keep putting in the effort, and let things just happen yeah :)..

Day 38

Special K cereal for breakfast, had a couple of organic oatmeal biscuits before lunch to keep me going.

Lunch - 3 boiled eggs, 2 slices of toast with peanut butter.

Did 53 mins of cardio (stationary bike)

Snacked on grapes.

Dinner - 2 pieces of roast chicken, apprantely, 29.1g protein each!? Some roast potatoes and some greens.

Might be going out tonight, so would it be ok to drink beer, or would this mess things up.

I don't do it, so I'd say don't bother with it, but it's not going to screw things up big time, unless you start doing it about 3-4 times a week.

About the protein shake again, i took it during weight lifting and finished off after, but i still feel very sick from it. Should i throw it away, am i using too much powder even though it's a scoop? Is it the lumps? I just don't see what it is, i like the taste and all but whenever i take it i feel sick?

Another thing i haven't mentioned, where im trying to get big pecs aswell, about a year ago, i had a luposuction operation on chest area, because it sort of looked like i had man boobs, excess tissue was removed i belive, just mentioning this because, was wondering if it would have an effect with me trying to get big pecs in that area?

Hi there Martin,

I wonder why you're feeling sick from the protein powder? Weird. It could be the type of protein, or it could be something in the powder. Sometimes those things have articifial sweeteners in it.. could be that. Its your call. You could keep drinking it and just switch to a different brand next time.. or you could throw it away. I have a hard time throwing stuff away so I would probably just use it up and switch to a different brand this time. Although, i'm not sure how "sick" its making you either.

Dont worry about the pizza the other night. No worries at all friend. :) Sometimes its actually GOOD to increase calories like that to shock your system a little bit.

I don't believe the liposuction is going to affect your pecs. Did the doctor specifically tell you anything after the surgery about how the surgery would effect your muscle development in the future? You could consult your physician and ask him, however i do not believe that surgery will impair your ability to increase the size of your pecs.

Good job Martin. :)

Day 41

Breakfast - half cup oats, 2 cups semi skimed milk, half scoop of protein powder.

Snacked on peanuts before lunch, small piece of flapjack.

Lunch - 3 boiled eggs, 2 slices small sized bread with peanut butter.

Went out

Dinner - some oven baked chips, beans, a bun with a small sized chicken fillet burger. not fried.

Also about 30mins after dinner had 2 ocean sticks and made a protein shake. Before doing this i probably ate about 1700-1800 calories today, so im drinking this protein shake because im hungry still and to make sure im getting at least 2000 calories, and maybe a bit more.

It just doesn't seem right, i feel fat where the fat is and im eating for example 30mins after dinner, it just seems like it won't move at all, espically where i lost weight before and it didn't go, im sorry if it seems like im being down as i know ive said the fat hasn't gone yet and that it takes time, but surely almost 6 weeks most of the fat should of gone?

Didn't do any cardio or weight lifting today (apart from walking up town into shops) but the reason i didn't do any is because im aching under eyes probably from minimal sleep the other night, i know it sounds like an exscuse but its made me feel a bit rough, so perhaps il use today as the day off, or maybe just see how i do later in the week.

Sorry to drag on but again about protein shakes, is there anything i can buy to help the lumps dissapear? hopefully this will stop me feeling sick?

Sorry to spam, please don't forget the post above, what is your thoughts on buying a bench press with 30kg of weights for £40. It's the one friend has and i have used a few times, i don't really have loads of money, but if this is a one chance deal i suppose i should take it? He even said he will sell to me for £30 because im a close friend.
