Boron is a mineral used in the health of Bones, so it shouldn't be a problem.

Maybe you're thinking of Borax?

Sucralose is also promoted under the name of Splenda.

Edit: Having had a rethink, this list might be of some use.

Boric Acid

it puts out fires too...

well, I just thought it might help with joint and bone health. I guess I should have researched it further. It says the Boron (boric acid) helps to absorb the calcium better. sigh...

I have started looking into natural ways through food to get what I need for joint movement and less pain.
Foods high in Vitamin C-which is abundant in strawberries, blueberries and raspberries, cantaloupe and broccoli-may help slow wear and tear on joints.
Women over the age of 45 need calcium to help prevent loss of bone. I need to eat more fish and shrimp for vitamin D and E. For omega 3 I need more flax seed, walnuts, salmon.
This scares me:
Signs and Symptoms of Osteoarthritis:

* early morning joint stiffness and pain
* loss or restriction of joint mobility
* pain that is worse after use
* stiffness after periods of rest
* creaking/cracking of joints after movement (also known as crepitus)
* tenderness and swelling in certain areas
* restricted mobility
* pain in the joint before or during changes in the weather
* deformity of the joints

That is me.

So maybe the answer is just through diet? certainly couldn't hurt to be eating more of these things. :D

The slight confusion here is Boric Acid and Boron. Boron is a mineral used to help keep Bones healthy. Boric Acid contains Boron, but it has Oxygen and Hydrogen in it as well.

Boron is found mostly in dietary plant matter from memory, not Flesh or Dairy that much if at all.

Glucosamine has been proven not too great for Osteoarthritis. Chondroitin is claimed to have some kind of boosting effect, hence why in recent years the two have often been paired together more, sometimes with other things in supplements.

Glucosamine as does Chitosan, has Chitin in it, so it's not normally tolerable to people with Shellfish allergies. Assuming you have no such allergy you'll be fine to have it if you wish.

Hyaluronic Acid is a component of Cartilage, so well worth considering.

Vit C does help create Collagen as one of it's functions, so it's also a useful tool in the fight against Osteo problems.

Thanks as always for the great info Boss Man. :D I appreciate it very much.

Todays workout:

1st day at the gym!!
Felt a little overwhelmed so I just did a few things I knew how to do..
Went after work around 4:30 p.m., not too crowded when I first got there.
elliptical, - 1.0 mile 10 minutes
treadmill - 2.70 miles adding 4 HIIT intervals 1 min @ 3.5 mph / 1 min. @ 6.7 - 7.0.

2 x 10 @ 60lbs. bench press
2 x 10 @ 30 lbs.bent arm reverse fly
2 x 10 stability ball knee tuck w/pushup
2 x 10 Captain's chair leg raise

felt good to be back in the gym - see alot of new things and can't wait to try out other things as I go more often.
Some things I observed while at the gym today:
Two ladies on the elliptical talking back n forth faster than they were working.
Over heard this from a young lady on the treadmill next to me talking to her friend: "All I've had today is a coffee and a protein shake this morning!" - no wonder she only spent 10 minutes on it before loudly exclaiming "whew! I'm beat" or something like that - so her and her gal pal moved on to something else. I was glad, because I was afraid I was gonna sling some sweat on her - it was pouring off of me - geez they keep that place HOT inside!!
And finally - got really peeved at the young guy who was draped over the Captains chair FOREVER texting to someone and laughing - totally oblivious to anyone around him wanting to use the equipment - mainly ME!
Felt good, was just happy to be there, slinging sweat and all... :D

Be thankful it was not as cold as mine, someone obviously was having hot flashes or something, door was jacked wide open, though I suppose I could of closed it ? There will always be people blah blahing on cardio machines, usually feel like saying its a talk test, you can clearly talk ..now MOVE more. Think I saw a chick reading a magazine & running ? Glad you had a good workout.

So glad you got back to the gym! I do miss being among people, but I sure don't miss seeing people who use it as a social hour :( I think I would've asked that guy to move his butt so I could use the Captain's Chair...knowing you, you'll do that when you feel more comfortable, but that's just not right! Must've ticked you off  How is the management of the gym? They should be making sure that stuff doesn't happen.

I was talking to Chiropractor today about all those symptoms you described above...much of it is just the aging process don't you think? I know yesterday or the day before I mentioned that I was uncomfortable with him cracking neck, but it appears I'm more likely to get hit with lightning walking out his door than to have a stroke due to a correction. Today he stretched and cracked in many places...wow! I never knew how messed up I was!!! No wonder I have had aches and pains.....the mobility in neck is unbelievable. He also had me do some exercises...Anyway, so far so good for me.....I really like this guy :)

Enjoy your sweating! ;)

Sadly, yes - I'm not ready to be old!! body is showing the signs of a bit of age (late forties) but in mind I'm still young (early thirties - ish)
I've never been to a chiropractor - although ma-in-law goes and she always says she feels better. :)

I will!! :P And anybody else who happens to work out next to me...hehe

As I was looking around the gym I noticed lots of new equipment out on the main floor & was wondering where the old machines went - found out when I stepped into the "ladies only" room. :( that bites.
I was out on the main floor with all the hard core jock guys and I was trying to walk past this beefy guy who was trying to set the weight on his machine (he was bent over with his butt stuck out in the aisle) anyway, so I'm trying to pass by him and I accidently drop keys that i was carrying - when I look back to see where they are...geez, they are right there on the floor next to his very defined butt...  so I try to casually walk back over and pick them up as face is uncomfortably close to his posterior - without looking like a total NEWBIE  I was so embarrassed!! gah!! He probably thought I did it on purpose.

Could be worse, he could have not noticed you and stepped back and backed his butt right into your head and the both of you fell over. Total Homer Simpson moment

hahaha! Boss Man - now that would have been a sight!

Today's workout:

5 mile outdoor paved trail run.
Felt a little tired from yesterday's gym workout - but had promised to meet up with some ladies from running group. The run went alright - I was slow, but got the miles in. :D
Felt fine, but after I left before I got home I started getting an ocular migraine. :x After I got home I immediately took 3 advil to help prevent the pain that i knew would be coming after the ocular vision impairment cleared. But to surprise I got another ocular vision impairment right after the first one, this time on the other side - I decided to just go and lay down until it passed. Kinda scary. :?
It is better now - no headache but I feel woozy weak minded and tired. Not sure if the run caused it - if I got too hot, or dehydrated - but it is unsettling to say the least.
I hope tomorrow is better - it will be a rest day for sure. :)

I don't get them too often, but have had them since I was a teenager. Usually if I can just get somewhere and lay down, have complete darkness and quiet they will pass without too much incident or pain. But yesterday when I had the first one, I tried to ignore it and kept on with evening activities and then had the 2nd attack (which has never happened before) so after that I knew I had to lie down. Some of the causes of ocular or "migraines with aura" can be 1. Stress 2. Menstrual 3. Hunger 4. Alcohol 5. Caffeine. I know that 1, 3 and 5 applied to me. :( So, bad.
but I am feeling better today - no workout today. Ready to get back out and hit the road in the a.m. :D
