DD invited me to run with her, so this morning I did 3 miles for the first time since Jan. 1. I have a feeling I'll have some soreness tomorrow and Sat. It's always fun to spend time with Sunshine though, and to be out in the real sunshine was a bonus!
Had to laugh at your Diet Dr Pepper devotion, Sue. I was totally into Tab in college. I wouldn't drink it now on a bet, but then I thought it was the best stuff ever. I did occasionally detour into the DDP though if it was on sale. Sorry you missed your workout, but glad you are feeling better today.
You are doing marvelously with your workouts, Chris!
Glad your dentist appt went well, Bama, and hope the blood test results are good, too.
Mo how nice to run with your DD . I see you had a double Sunshine today .
Sue, I need to jump over to email and read your grocery report . Been busy most of the day so now I have some time to relax .
Chris a great workout .
I found or I should say a Kettle Bell workout . Bob Harper and I will have a date in the Morning. LOL . I also found another one I think Gin Miller this is the one that came with the Kettle Bell so now I have two. But I plan on keeping date with Bob tomorrow .
All went well at the Doctors . No need to go back unitl September
Workout today was 30 minutes of walking with jogging Intervals.
Good Morning All,
Last night was a rest night for me. So other than a 20 minute walk home, nada for exercise. Going to try and stay on track this weekend. I will update you on monday. No walking to work today as it is friday. Funny thing it is much easier to find parking on fridays! Yay on all going well with your appointments Bama! Even better you have found a kettle bell workout! Good luck with those. How nice FitMo to run with your DD. Great workout! Thanks on the kind words. I am feeling stronger in core and arms. I love those gains. Glad you got a good sleep Sue! Hope you got your workouts in. We were looking at the picnic table when we came in from our walk the other day and it is still covered with snow. We went cold again so I am not eating outside.
Oh just so you know sunday we are supposed to get another winter storm. I may be shovelling on sunday.
Good Morning Sisters, and Thank you Bossman . It is always nice to have a good report from your Doctor. Somewhere that neither I nor Husband like to go.
Well Sisters I did do the Bob Harper kettle bell this morning. Oh HOLY MOLY it was tough very tough . I made it though the whole workout with only one break . DH wonder where the heck I got that dumb looking workout tool . He has no clue as to all the equipment I have . They were using 20 # bells and I only have 10 but I could never have done it with anything any heavier . Hopefully it will be easier the next time (Monday) or I may try the Jillian or Gin Miller one.
Chris Darn I wish spring were here for everyone . We have spring now but lot of rain.
Morning Sue and Mo.
I am off to a smoothie as I need that and a rest .
Sorry for the post and run but got a lot on the "PLATE" this a.m., I see great workouts by Chris, Bama and I am sure Molasses, is doing one too.
As for me ......10 Minute Solution Slim & Sculpt Pilates with Pilates Band with Suzanne Bowen Warm Up, Lower Body Pilates and Pilates for Flexibility and Evening workout walking/jogging in place/dancing
Bama, I think we have the same Gin Miller DVD; mine came with a Danskin kettlebell. I'll bet it's much easier than the Bob H one; it's aimed at beginners. Great job on getting thru the Bob! And yay on the clean bill of health.
Great to hear you are feeling a difference with your workouts, Chris! Good luck with your weekend plan--I'll be crossing fingers that you don't get a whole pile of snow to shovel on Sunday.
Great workout for you, I see, Sue!
Yoga for Flexibility for me today.
I was down doing some re-arranging and tossing out in the basement. With the melting snow, we are starting to get water seeping in, and now the forecast is for weekend rain so I want to make sure things are up off the floor. Book club tonight, so I'm looking forward to that.
Molasses, I see you had a nice run with your DD yesterday. Oh one of best friends who had relatives in TN introduced me to Dr. Pepper, Molasses. Loved it. I was a coke drinker and Pepsi and yes I loved Pepsi and milk like Laverne LOL When I met Chuck he had family in Texas where he got Dr. Pepper from too. However, it was a long time before it was available to us on the East coast, so we drank Dr. Pibb, Coke, Squirt, made iced tea etc. LOL When we moved to Virginia it was available at Kroger Kroger Kroger and we got it there and when the diet one came out we tried it, loved it and it was our soda for years. Unfortunately like so many other things, it started to bother our upper and lower digestive systems (in addition to going to a price we could NOT afford it any more as we went through 20 bottles a week of it. So went to Lipton ice tea (regular) and then found the diet one and switched to that as we both went up in weight with the regular ones. Now I make own in gallon container which I have at night (one glass), it lasts me a total of 8 days, plus 2 glasses on Sunday, including Sunday night and Monday night portion. We have the diet Lipton lemon with our dinner and I have the regular raspberry one with lunch.
Bama, it was a shorter grocery report this time since it was those things we run out of....LOL like milk, bread etc.
Oh I have heard only good things about Bob Harper and girlfriend in Ohio loved him and got to see him speak too and he is the reason she lost 100 pounds and has stayed that way for years now.
So glad to hear the doctor stuff went well and is done for a while..I hope I fare as well as you.
I see you did a great workout yesterday too.
Chris, I see you took Thursday off besides your walks to and fro work. Hope the weekend goes well. That is funny on the parking for Friday. Let's hope Spring comes early, Chris. Though Chuck and his cohorts years back in Western NY (Buffalo) would go out in the winter and cook up steaks in the grills the apartment provided. dad has a gas grill on Long Island and he'd go out and cook us up steaks too. He usually sent me out to flip and check them as the rest of the family were wimps LOL
Great workout this a.m., Bama, and yes friend Barb would say the workouts were very tough but she stuck with it and then went to the gym too. At least you have some other ones too. Since Chuck and I worked out together for years, he is familiar with a lot of the equipment. In fact when I did Suzanne he asked did that band come with the workout, he didn't remember and I said yes but we didn't buy it, it was the one that Tina sent me as she didn't like it and knew I loved Pilates. Have to say I love Suzanne's workouts and was lucky she did send it as I didn't know about her and now I have 2 others of her videos.
Send that rain our way Bama, we need it desperately.
Yes, Molasses, Suzanne, got me stretched out and nimble and breathing good and I didn't need the step stool to reach those coffee cups this a.m., as I always do her stretch workout to finish.
Great workout today Molasses and very sorry about the basement, hope you got it all up. Do you have a sump pump?
Have a wonderful book club tonight.
Well I am all caught up and off to do it on another....have a good Friday and weekend and before I forget again
No sump pump, Sue, just a French drain in the basement. I'm a tea drinker now, too, but not instant. I'm into tea bags; I've usually got at least 6 boxes open so I can choose according to mood and time of day (no caffeine after early afternoon). Glad Suzanne helped!
Quick strength training for me today: 1 set, 10 reps: squat, deadlift, bicep curls, triceps kickbacks. glute bridge, rotational squat, headbangers. Seems like I'm missing something. . . anyway, finished with planks.
DH wants to go out for Chinese for lunch so I need to go get ready.
Another busy day, bathrooms to clean, frittata's to cook up and hopefully the sheets changed so we can test out the NEW SHEETS (yes finally got a set from Target, which us luck).
Gotcha on the sump pump, Molasses.
Molasses, I am Lipton tea drinker, have been for years, I have tea in the a.m., and I was making that weekly gallon of tea with regular Lipton tea bags but found their Lipton 100% Natural Ice tea specially blended for iced tea 24 Family size tea bags. I use 5 in gallon container, boil water, pour it through and then add some more hot water, it sits Sunday night till we go to bed and then I put it in the fridge and start it on Tuesday as I have already a glass from last batch for Sunday night and Monday night.
What variety of teas are you drinking?
Great workout this a.m.
MMM love Chinese, can't wait to hear what yummies you had. I used to go with girlfriend Wendy for lunch. Of course, Chuck does NOT do Chinese food LOL
I took yesterday off and so far today . I may get something in this afternoon .
It's been a beautiful two days here or I should say three as I think today is going to be nice also. In the 80's so that is always nice.
Dogwoods are blooming and so are azaleas . Will be pretty when they get done.
Not a tea drinker also I like it. I gave up coffee quite sometime ago . I do like some of the Christmas flavors that they have . Gingerbread spice especially . I think it is by Celestial and sometimes I make Sun tea in the summer . They really have good Sweet Tea here in the South . All the restaurants have it . Mickey D's is quite good
Been having a little PC trouble so I need to get back to trying to . Enjoy your week end
An overcast morning, but we will take it as maybe we won't hit the 89 they are forecasting as hubby already forewarned me that the a/c will BE ON if it does LOL
Bama, glad you took yesterday and today off too. I see your weather has been like ours. Oh I love dogwoods and azaleas too. I have always been a Lipton tea drinker, Bama, dear MIL loved her Tetley so I always had some for her when she came. Chuck's grandma too. All three of us used to bicker over which was best. I insisted Lipton and they there Tetley....
I tried Sweet Tea when we lived down south, sorry didn't like it. I don't like very sweet drinks or foods. As Chuck says a bag of sugar would last me a year if it was me only using it. I just look at him and raise eyebrows.
Sorry about the PC trouble, hope you can it soon.
Drop me an email if you need to, if I can't help, I am sure Chuck can.
Well off to put the sheets into Ethel.....oh and before I forget....DOING YIPPITY SKIPPITY DANCE
Our sheets from Target fit our CalKing bed, we took the time this a.m., to give them a try and bottom sheet is actually loose and top sheet great too. It came in a bag and it's made in Pakistan and right away noticed it said it fit a 15 inch depth and both Chuck and I said holy moly that's our bed. So to say we are happy campers is an understatement and now the BIG test, wash them and see if they shrink. And yes I will be washing them in cold water LOL
Well I am off....have a wonderful Sunday....think of that Daneil Boone song.....It's A Beautiful Sunday.... it's a beautiful day....
Finally got around to doing a workout--I did the X-Stretch from P90X, so I'm feeling like warm taffy.
I've been buying organic green tea and organic white tea (Prince of Peace brand from Vitacost--it's less than $7 for 100 tea bags) and then I drop one of each in a quart jar with one bag of one of the Celestial Seasonings berry Zingers. That's morning tea; I don't need any sweetener in it. Then in the afternoons I'll switch to decafs or herbal tea, like a decaf Chai, or although it's not tea, I'm loving this stuff called Dandy Blend; both of those I drink with coconut milk. At night I've been into either plain mint herbal tea or else Peach Sleepytime by Celestial Seasonings. There's a Yogi tea I like, too, that's made for pregnant women. I like Bigelow green tea with peach or blueberry, too. Whenever tea is on sale, I stock up, so I rarely have fewer than 20 boxes of assorted brands and flavors. I try to limit it to 6 open boxes so it doesn't get stale before I can drink it. I never really liked tea till about 10 years ago, so I find it amusing how into it I am now.
Enjoy those blooming trees--we are still dreaming about those spring days here!
Molasses, great workout and wow on all those yummy teas....
Here ya go Molasses, help you to think SPRING...however today with the temps bumping 89 it's more like Summer already, I am in shorts, flip flops and light short sleeved shirt......NO SNOWBALLS...you too could live in California.
Off to go play some Ricochet, Collapse Crunch, etc....
Good Morning Gals,
Well I am happy to report that I did get strength work outs in on the weekend. Which means I got all four last week! On the down side after chopping at snowbanks on saturday getting ready for the storm I woke up with tendonitis in right forearm. So no weights on the lower body work out last night. I may be changing up the workouts this week to allow the arm to heal. It is feeling much better and I left the driveway to DH and the snowblower. A walk to work this morning and pants are soaked from knees to ankles. I had on rubber boots but the snow was higher. Should be all cleaned up by the end of the work day! We got 30-40 cm (a foot plus some) of snow and I would love to ship to anyone who wants it!
