Just looking at your progress photos...very impressive. You've done a great job, and noticing the weight loss from when you started, though I didn't read all 112 pages, looks like 132ish to 110ish. Really amazing, and great muscle tone/development.

Thanks :) Well I don't feel better, today was the first day thus far I couldn't stick to diet.I ripped up the lettuce head BUT could not force myself to eat salad or meat.I actually did eat veggies & meat earlier in the a.m.Since I wasn't to fond of eating nothing & having the pacman protein scavengers chomping on muscles, so I had flax toast & peanut butter with a smidgen of honey.Dinner will be the usual though. son left for his grandma's this morning, oblivious to the fact that myself & other son will be following him up tomorrow, we are looking forward to seeing the shock on his face. mom & I planned it weeks ago.Think this will be one of the best Christmas years to date, because I've managed to keep mood stable throughout the year due to involvement in fitness :) I've packed little bags of grains etc.I don't plan on throwing entire nutrition standards out the window because I don't think body can handle that much sugary food without SOME healthy food in between. Merry Christmas to all who celebrate it :)

Well...I'm still alive, though slightly bloated & still sick.I have eaten everything Christmas related you could possibly think of, from butter tarts, to caramel popcorn, sausage, pickles, cheese n crackers & full turkey dinner twice ? I ate easily 3 lbs of baking by myself. As yummy as that all was, it was also a bit scary in the sense, that besides the usual sugar high & nausea bladder became painful after 24 hrs & legs started swelling up, I assume due to the sugar etc intake.Came home & have started healthy eating. When I had arrived at mothers, she had forgotten the powder to make dip & everything was closed for the next two days.I managed to keep breakfast normal & nothing else.Have not been in the gym in a week, due to this annoying cold, seriously why does it have to hang on so beeping long.Tomorrow I will be back in to do weights, before last ICE test in the afternoon.I will weigh myself next Monday, when I feel less like a balloon.I can honestly say now being away from that food, I don't care to ever repeat that.I did however enjoy the family together part.Cheers to a New Year full of fitness :)

So between finishing papers for the evaluation tomorrow, I have been trying to figure out what causes the water retention & bladder pain via massive sugar consumption. From what I read a massive influx of sugar, enlists a equally combative production of insulin.Insulin helps to retain sodium, hence the water retention ? I didn't save the page because at the end it was about supplement sales..but I did read that the more sugar we eat, even in the form of excess grains a) if your glycogen levels are full already & you are not burning the sugar it is directly converted to saturated fat & stored BUT & this one seems more important... b) The more we eat sugar we force our cells to be bombarded by insulin & they become insulin resistant, which in turn makes the pancreas increase the output even more.Eventually the pancreas can't keep up causing diabetes.I haven't found the reason for the immediate bladder pain except it said that sugar suppresses the immune system & promotes bacterial growth, possibly contributing to acute bladder infection, though mine feels fine now, so..Les if you have any ideas or corrections to what I comprehended from the article, feel free to contribute :)

I'm like you Bonnie, I did not keep myself away from any of the Christmas goodies family made, and I enjoyed it all at the time. It is suffice to say I got appetite back...sadly it seems I over indulged, maybe to make up for the weeks of not eating very much? But I have been feeling tired and have had a dull headache for 3 days, fingers are swollen ( wedding ring is VERY tight, where normally it is somewhat loose). I had cake, cookies, breads - you name it. And now, I am SO ready to get back to regular more controlled eating. I can't believe I ever ate that way on a regular basis in the past - you don't really notice how it makes you feel, until you have been away from it for a while.

I hope you get to feeling better soon. I can imagine for you a week away from the gym...they may send a search party out looking for you.

Yes, I'm sure they are wondering what happened to me by now :) When I arrived at moms, I said " wheres the butter tarts " & when she brought out the plate of baking, oldest son said " you better count each one mom ".I was like count what, worked all year don't care about a couple of pound gain, however I had no clue as to how sick I would feel & what I was REALLY doing to body by assaulting it with SO much sugar. Not much different than a toxic drug overdose, lesson learned. As youngest son & I discussed, an appetite is not really necessary to eat sugary foods, at least with this cold ? The effort it takes to eat the healthy food on the other hand is significant. Not sure why comfort food is more palatable when one is sick ? Though I'm glad you at least had the joy of eating back, regardless of the content ;) & that you had the body awareness of the results of eating those foods.I don't think any of us will truly change & know we are doing it for the right reasons, until we know how our bodies function. At least it makes it easier for me, suppose I can't speak for everyone :) Only had 4 hours sleep still I'm heading to the gym in a few hours. If you ever need me for anything Lynn, I'm here :) Have a good day !

Uhhh so glad I'm not contagious through the internet, otherwise you could blame me for that cold :)

You only ate enough to best your last year ?..I ate more from Christmas eve to the end of boxing day to be more than the last decade

Yeah I went back to the gym today not because I necessarily feel better but because I'm feeling a tad squishy, from a week of doing nothing..& just for giggles I weighed myself 1.9 lb gain, though I'm still bloated & if you prick me I think syrup would come out, not water ;) So was a mediocre workout at best.I am however starting to get pissed off at how long this cold is taking to buzz off. I miss the days of energy & excitement of doing workouts.

Squats
1 x 12 x 80...x 10 x 90..x 8 x 100...x 4 x 110

Wide grip pull ups
1 x 12 x 25 ...x 8 x 25

Dead lifts
2 x 12 x 65

Decline bench press
1 x 12 x 55...x 12 x 60

Shoulder press on FS of bosu
2 x 12 x 12.5

One arm row
2 x 12 x 30

Woodchoppers high to low on FS of bosu
2 x 12 x 9/10 lb

Single leg raise
1 x 10 x 4.5...x 12 x 2.5

Supermans
2 x 12 x 5 second hold

Back extensions on ball
2 x 12

Reverse ab curls
2 x 12

Can doctors do anything for colds ?..Was hoping to be a little clearer in the mind for evaluation today, guess not.

It doesn't surprise me that Sugar has a connection to Bacterial infections, as it's been quite widely reported that Sugar is a potential food source for Tumours.

Yes actually the article I was reading delved into the link between sugar, cancers etc, was quite interesting.Though I did have this cold before I ate any sugar I'm sure the saturation of every tissue with sugar isn't helping to rid myself of it.Feeling better now that I'm eating regular food :)

Well I PASSED with a 92 % average score ! She also used me as a fitness model for some pictures, to show her training, for a future client of hers.I did pull ups & push ups, sat on a bike, we forgot the squats or lunges, oops.I asked her to send me some of them so I can post them here, real live gym shots ! It was fun :)

Don't have the results of the written exam yet, still think that ones iffy at best. Will photo copy & send these in to the registration office.Almost job hunting time..YAY.
