That's EXACTLY what I was thinking, Nokie! Hehehehe! It is amazing how hard it is to find a cute neon orange bikini...good thing I have plenty of time to shop!

I was thinking legwarmers would be a nice addition to the outfit...wouldn't you agree?!!

Update:

Thanksgiving was FABULOUS! I pigged out! I hope everyone else enjoyed their Turkey Day as well!

Saturday we went snowboarding. I am a beginner snowboarder, so I got a very good workout with all the falling down and picking myself up again. I spent part of the day on the bunny slope, and then the guys took me up to the big slope for the last part of the day. It was awesome! Such a good workout!

Also, I scheduled first ever posing lesson for this Wednesday. I'm really looking forward to it!

Update:

Wednesday: Full body weight workout at the gym. Have to admit, heart really wasn't in it but I did give it full effort. A little sore and having some complications with right shoulder. I have been seeing a chiropractor and massage therapist to aid in healing.

Wednesday evening I had very first posing lesson! I was so nervous! It felt so awkward to walk out into the gym in a bikini and heels!!!! What a weird feeling!! We practiced walking (I have to remember to walk more slowly), posing (hip up!!), and I learned how difficult it is to flex certain muscles on command (spreading your back, pushing your tummy out but then collecting the lower ab area, shoulders back), all the while looking completly relaxed and remembering to SMILE! LOL! instructor said I had a great natural presence and attitude/confidence. That was so nice to hear! Also, we took pictures (I posted one in profile) so we can track progress. main challenges are going to be building enough upper body muscle to balance out lower body and learning how to disguise extreme bowleggedness! :o)

POSING IS WAY HARDER THAN IT LOOKS!

What have I gotten myself into!!!? ;o)

Today is Thursday: cardio this evening; 35 minutes on the elyptical planned. 5 minutes warm up, 25 minutes steady pace on resistance level 7, 5 minutes cool down, followed up with 3 sets of squats, situps, and calf raises to failure.

Friday I have a personal training appointment with posing instructor to help me get on the right track and push me farther than I have been able to push myself. Really looking forward to it!!!!!

Looking great, loved the new pic....post more, post more.... :wink: You do look very happy, and confident, such a gr8 strong body to work with. Keep up the hard work, Your doing awesome.......and don't forget to enjoy, and have fun with it. 8)

LOL, Nokie! I'm not wearing THAT suit for the competition!! It's just the suit that fits me best right now.

Thank you for the comments! It felt really awkward walking around in heels in a bikini in the gym. The trainer even had me do a set of Captain's Chair Leg Raises in heels, in a bikini. LOL! She was showing another competitor how well that exercise targets the upper and lower abs as well as the obliques. Guess it's a good thing that I'm not shy! :lol:

Hope you get sorted out soon and you're physically able to enjoy Christmas properly. I'm sure your physical changes will happen just fine in time.

As for you Brenty, you're quite the card aren't you :wink:

Update: Friday - weight day

first day with a personal trainer! trainer suggested we start doing muscle splits, so today was back and bicep day. After assessing me, she advised that front delts are much bigger/stronger than back/side delts, so we focused on working only the back and side delts, lats, traps and bicep. It was a relatively easy-breezy workout, however I learned some very creative new moves and feel like I worked the areas of focus really well. She complimented me on back muscles, which are coming in REALLY nicely...I can't help but look in the mirror!

Also, in her assessment she mentioned that perviously she was concerned that lower body was more muscular and bulky than upper body and that we would have to work really hard to achieve the symentry we are looking for, however after further review I just need to lean down lower body as that is the main area body fat is stored. I need to work off some excess "butt jigglies"!

All in all, a very good day! It has been a lot of hard work, but I am starting to see some of the results that I originally sought when I started working out back in September. Slow and steady wins the race though, right? Er...bikini competition! ;)

Also, another point of exciting news: the grill near work makes a really, really good 'naked' grilled chicken and green beans! Perfect for lunch!!!

I have a cold and it sucks. Needless to say, though I pobably *should* have worked out yesterday, I did not. Planning on doing a light workout this afternoon just to keep blood pumping. We did however, get a good chunk of our Christmas shopping done! Hooray!
