90% of those who come on here want to lose wt...this means they need to cut their carb consumption (usually a lot)...i'm not trying to lose wt sxo i donp;t need to cut them out...nowadays i'm haviong 3 weetbix with eggs, bacon and toast for breaky but even when i was having 6 of them every day i would only have crabs at breakfast and post training where most have them all throughout the day so they're timing is all our of whack...and I also train heavy and hard and consistently

Kzar wrote:Hi guys. I am new to this site. I have been really inspired by the success stories and now I wish to have own. I am a 5'7" . I weigh in at ~171 lbs and BMI is 26.8. So I am a little overweight according to BMI. I don't know body fat percentage since I have been too lazy to figure it out. I WISH TO LOSE 25-30 LBS so that I can get to 140-145 lbs (which, I think, is ideal for a 5'7" ).

I just started going to the gym this Monday, September 14. I plan to go everyday for the next 3.5 months (end of December). What I have done so far though is just cardio (treadmill and/or elliptical) for ~30 mins and then just doing various work out routines. So it's not structured like the success stories are (e.g. they do abs Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and legs some other days, etc.). And I am wondering if I should start doing this...anyone?

Another thing is that nutrition is very important in this...which you all know :p. And I ask you if it is imperative to strictly watch eating? I mean, I've cut off soda and junk food. I rarely drink juice (orange) and I drink a lot of water. For food, I eat chicken, rice, whole wheat bread, pasta, cereal (w/ 2% milk), and fruits. I haven't been eating veggies since I have none right now but that shall soon be resolved. But should I choose some other foods from the ones I listed (e.g. pasta)? I noticed yesterday that when I did elliptical for 30 mins., the machine said that I had burned 400 -500 calories (can't remember exactly) and I don't know if that is enough. Of course I burn off more by working out but I am still not sure if what I am doing overall is effective. I have been fasting but that is going to end this weekend so I can start the 6 meals a day routine.

As noted above, I wish to lose 25-30 lbs. I really hope I don't hit any plateaus and am able to shed those 25-30 lbs in these next 3.5 months. Of course I will continue going to the gym after but not on an everyday basis like now. ultimate goal is to get a six pack but that won't happen in the next 3.5 months so I am just focusing on weight loss for now. However, I also do crunches and I ask if those are really effective now or not in burning calories for weight loss?

If anyone has any questions, I will provide them. PLEASE PEOPLE, I NEED YOUR HELP. Oh btw, is it possible for me to get a whole workout routine planned out by someone for me on this website?

Thank you and best regards,
Kzar.
Kzar, I agree with the advices above, but you also need some supplements to lose your fat. For example, this may be green tea.

Hi there :).

I woiuld politely disagree. Firstly I think Green Tea is not a supplement, (but is beneficial), as it doesn't need to be a supplement for the diet and if it can be bought in commercial supermarkets, as well as health food shops, it's not really a supplement for that reason anyway.

As for supplements needed for Fat loss, it's not necessary. Some supplements like Oil based ones, (Fish Oil, Krill Oil, Omega 3,6,9 complexes etc etc), can be beneficial for other reasons, but if I suggested such things, it would be mainly for those reasons, not to promote them as a quick to weight loss, not that I'm saying you're doing that, I completely 100% believe you never would do that with any supplement.

Ultimately you offering advice about supplements is good, but don't forget, unless they are a necessity, or very beneficial to the persons goal, then the individual might spend their money, not yours or mine, buying something that's not going to have a significant or major impact on their wants.

I do agree there is benefit in Green Tea and also respect your answer, so please don't take this personally, I'm not here to belittle you or put you down, I'm just trying to have a fairly neutral stance here, so the person can make a more considered choice, before spending extra money.

I can see a lot about you in terms of personality, warmth and a caring nature, in your response though, so I will encourage you to keep doing that, thank you for joining, and hope we can help and support you like, you clearly want to help and support us.

I appreciate your participation, so best wishes and please do keep posting :).

Agreed. Anything that could be called a Metabolic Enhancer, I.E. Fat burners, Appetite Suppressants and Thermogenic serums, are at best, pointless wastes of money, worst case scenario, dangerous, nay lethal. Cough, Hydroxycut, cough.

All of them are just designed for one purpose in mind. To make supplement companies richer. Forget the B.S. hype and supposed endorsements from misguided celebrities, sports people and nutritionists / university graduates, that actually can call themselves Dr. Supplement companies only market these things to get richer.

They'll tell you different, but frankly it's a 99.99999999% shewin, they'd be lying, because they'd have every reason to protect their precious profits. I don't  .

I don't doubt it.

If someone came on here and said a relative took a Fat Burner and subsequently cacked their own Brain down the toilet, I wouldn't disbelieve it.
