Eating 800 cals a day - so so silly!!
birth control would not have been in your system fully after 1 week so you prob didnt lose any weight the second week as your body was trying to hold onto some fat as it thought you were starving. Arghh!!
When i am not on birth control for a period of time i am around 10 lbs lighter naaturally. When i decided to try for a baby i was 116lbs. 4 days after i had him i was 112lbs. back on the pill and within 6 months i was 126lbs.
I think it does add a few pounds on due to the hormones but if you are fit and healthy it shouldnt be an issue as i, personally, think the benefits outweigh the bad effects. saying that you do have to find the correct type of birth control for you.
Birth control while trying to lose weight

well, eating 800 cal a day is not so sily... based on the BMR calculator i use around 1300 caories a day (but not anywhere close to 2000 cals/day. those who think they do use that much are wrong). plus i'm not very active. to loose one lb/week you have to cut down 500 calories/day. so there you go, it amounts to 800 cals a day. the thing with birth control is that i didn't gain weight significantly, (up to 5 lbs) but when it comes to loosing it, it just slow. it seems like the body retains fat...
dermatologist recommends Yasmin birth control pills for acne. (I’m not trying to promote just recommending
) he also says it helps to lose weight unlike other pills that makes you gain.
So far acne is getting better but I also drink lots of water! (That helps!)
As for weight, I didn’t gain any and I lost some … that is because of clean diet (lean protein, complex carb, and etc…) eating 5-7 times a day and working out!!! Or maybe it’s all of the above…. Ask your doctor about that brand... See if it might work for you

I'm not going to comment on birth control, but whilst 800 calories a day isn't silly, it's not healthy. You're looking at more than that to be healthy. You need to consider that at that level of calories, you could be causing vitmain and mineral deficiencies.
I am not an expert on birth control pharamceuticals, but I wouldn't think there's any reason to eat as little as 800 calories a day on them. Unless you have something like a Digestive tract problem, or Gastroparesis, or been restricted to lower calories for a few days, by a Doctor, thne een if you're sdedentary you do need more than 800.
You're not doing yourself any favours eating that little, and I'm saying this because I care, not to admonish you, but you need to realise what that few calories a day might do to you, regards things like Bone mass, Erythrocyte, (Red Blood Cell), levels and associated Blood Oxygen reductions, and other things besides.
Unless a Doctor gives you such pharmaceuticals, and says you have to eat that many calories a day and no more, you shouldn't be doing it.

I will respectfully disagree with your logic. You will lose the weight, undoubtedly. Your also losing valuable muscle. Along with that you will feel like shit, be more at risk for getting ill because your immune system will not function as it should.lenusik wrote:well, eating 800 cal a day is not so sily... based on the BMR calculator i use around 1300 caories a day (but not anywhere close to 2000 cals/day. those who think they do use that much are wrong). plus i'm not very active. to loose one lb/week you have to cut down 500 calories/day. so there you go, it amounts to 800 cals a day. the thing with birth control is that i didn't gain weight significantly, (up to 5 lbs) but when it comes to loosing it, it just slow. it seems like the body retains fat...
fear is that we have teens reading this site (and some adults for that matter) that will read your post and think, Hey! That's it, I'll just decrease caloric intake and the weight will melt off. Truth be told, your doing more harm than good. Eventually all the weight you lost will just come right back on once you wake up and realize the damage you've done. Unfortunately, some damage may be irreversible.
Im afraid i dont take it back and disagree with Boss man. It is bloody silly eating 800 cals a day. This is a 24 year old woman. She is 5'6'' and 120lbs and is worried about her weight???
If your BMR is 1300 then that means if you are bed bound and do not move at all, all day, that is how many cals you will burn. In reality you will most likely burn an extra 500-600 just in everyday living/working and add another 300-500 if exercising. To lose fat and not water/muscle you need to ne eating around 1800 a day (thats minusing off 250 cals from diet and then burn an extra 250 in physical activity).
