i go tanning sometimes.
plain and simple, i look better tan than i do pale. plus i feel like tan people always look more muscular / defined.
and people don't sit out in the sun because of the climate / time it takes to tan there. but when it is summer, i'll go lay outside. tannings expensive.

I am a vampire, lol, see nic! I work nights and see the sun only a bit in the mornings. I get vitamin D through diet and I do take a multivitamin everyday.
I am pale but not white pale. when I was younger the sun was idol and I soaked up everything it would give me, a lifeguard must tan! Nowadays, being in the afternoon sun actually hurts skin without coverings or lotions, through the summer, even lotions don't help alot. The sun has its benifits but like all things it must be monitored and moderated. With me, once a week and I'm fine, lol. Besides I tan red
lol.
cheers

Tanning is unhealthy.
Recomended limits are 20 sessions max a year, approximately 1 session every 18 days, and by that time most effects of one tan will probably be lost.
DON'T ever think of tanning under 16 years of age, and anyone who lets you, REPORT them IMMEDIATELY to the authorities for negligence.
Also for anyone who thinks about having 3-4 sessions before a holiday, so as not to sick out like a sore thumb, and then says it's okay because you won't tan again for about 10 months, DON'T.
Some things like Lungs, Liver etc etc, can recover from some serious abuse, with long - term abstinence of abusing factors.
Skin almost certainly doesn't, and if you shouldn't exceed one tan session every 18-21 days, then 4 in 2 weeks prior to a holiday is unhealthy, and you WILL damage skin, almost certainly with some PERMANENT effect.
Especially if you tan unbronzed. You don't use no lotion when you sunbathe on holiday, so why no bronzer when you tan?
The simple answer, is looking like a permanently cooked beef dinner is not cool, it doesn't make you look any better, and if you end up with Skin Cancer, you CAN DIE.
P.S. don't think you're in control of your tanning habit, if you excessively tan, because if you do, you're already damging yourself, which means you lost control.
