Hi, Just popping in to say good night to all. No, first time I couldn't get on Prevention also so I guess its out now :( I did email a few people with a pic and a bit of post so check your email although I don't have too many. I did start the van later on so it started so it should start tomorrow since it has been sitting a week in this cold weather and started. Tonight will be about 25 degree's below and thats warmer I guess :chilly: Got up to 5 above today:)
Will take shower stuff and all to son's anyway and enjoy day after work is over for sure! They work until 8:30 p.m. See the cats finally too. Just be so nice to get out.
Sue, enjoy your day also and have a good night and sleep too! Mo, sorry about your DA's mess right now. Seems like Jade is doing a lot of that lately and I washed the sheet anyway but took a few hrs. even with a low load with this water dribbling in the washer. I put the shower doors closed also and put her drink dish outside the tub. Don't know why she and some cats love going in tub to drink? But I don't think she needs the extra jump and all now even though I had a stool there but I placed it by bed now. Glad you did get out Mo. even for shopping:)
So good night all and hope Di will come on here also or can email us? Good sleep's everyone  Have a great weekend!

If there are problems with picture upload you can try this sort of thing.

You need something like a Photobucket, Flickr, Picasa etc account and then use these tags with the image URL inserted in-between them.

That should hopefully sort out the concerns regarding image linking.

There used to a me a limited amount of images that could be stored on the Fittracker system in the past, but at present that system is offline potentially forever.

Good Morning ladies! Off to work and that time is going by too fast. didn't get much sleep as was watching for Jade to jump on bed etc. She's been eating this food I gave her, not the tuna before though. It is 8 above 0 this morning so that is a change! And I see humidity came up just for me which will make it warmer at work as if the ladies believe that one:) course they probably still got the heat up for the way below 0 weather too :wowzer: Have a very nice Sat. and a fantastic ME day tomorrow also. :coffee:

Hope your day goes well, YAH. Hard to believe you have to worry about sweating in that weather! More hugs to you and Jade.

Thanks, Sue, for the hugs and prayers.

I am not very happy with DH at the moment. He told me this morning that if I need help with DA, I should just let him know. So I cleaned her up but needed some help getting her clean underwear on as she won't lift her bottom. He comes in and starts complaining about the smell and telling me I should open the window. (Seriously? it's barely above zero and aunt is cold when it's 70.) He did lift her legs so I could get the pants up, but I had to do the sheet by myself because he is such a big freaking baby. I'm getting better at it (Dianna had posted a link to info on how to do it before the old forum disappeared. Although I had to improvise since I didn't have a second able bodied person to help me, I got plenty of practice yesterday!) but it would be easier on DA if he'd help. I do have to wonder how she can possibly be producing so much waste on the tiny bit she is taking in.

If you are reading here, Di, thanks. :)

I'd better go see if I can get a workout in this morning before the day gets away from me.

Hi ladies,

Busy day...thanks for the picture YAH, loved it. Glad you got the van started and hope work today went alright and your temps warm up some too. Unfortunately end of Feb is the time for this weather. I keep seeing the freezing of Niagara Falls and them going on and on out here on our news about it...makes me just scream at the TV...it HAS HAPPENED BEFORE MANY TIMES...SHUT UP ALREADY!

Enjoy your showers at your son's and enjoy the cats. Wish you could just stay over, but I know you worry about Jade.

Thanks on the "me day" YAH and HUGS and more prayers to you and Jade. I was going to drop Dianna an email.

Thanks on the pics, Bossman, will give it a try soon.

YAH, hope your drive to work was alright and same goes for the "workers" today, hope they all showed up and you weren't a "one gal show" there. Just glad Jade is eating.

Hope the ladies, keep the "heat down"...as you say enough from the dryers.

Molasses, it's the dryers along with the heat and the other ladies "not wanting the fans on"

I am sending continued hugs and prayers as what you are going through isn't easy.

Oh no Molasses, so sorry to hear you had to do that all by yourself. Boy I want to kick your hubby where the sun don't shine, I can't imagine what you'd like to do LOL

Glad Di gave you a link on how to do it by yourself. Now if you only had some help....HUGS.

A good night to all and a wonderful "me day" tomorrow.

Well time for breathing and nap time,

Sue

You know I don't envy you for having to deal with your Aunt's concerns FA50. grandmother on mothers side eventually needed to go into a home, because living with parents was no longer the answer, as she was needing more attention than could be given by parents and the healthcare people who came now and then.

The only thing you can really do is just play it by ear, because you obviously want to be there as much as is realistic and give her the kind of personal contact from you you think she needs and would hope for and I totally appreciate that at times, this must be hard and a difficult thing to have had to adapt to at some point and there's always the possibility that people in that situation can find it hard to keep dealing with it, knowing there's a possibility it might at some point get too hard to cope with and there will have to be alternative provisions for the cared for relative.

So I wish you GOOD LUCK with everything. You're clearly someone with a big heart and a wonderful character I feel and this is another way a site like ours can exist, to help people like you find a little extra comfort, advice, support and additional ideas to make your recurrent difficulties perhaps seem a little less difficult to deal with :).

Hi everyone , I almost forgot about this .

Mo, sorry about your DH . Don't you just sometimes want to slap them. You have so much on your shoulders . I hope you can get Hospice to come in as they will give you some time off and help with your Aunt also. Hugs .

Well we had a lovely time at the birthday party . She had a great time with her friends . and then some other family members came over in the afternoon. I sure don't remember parents giving us kids a sweet 16 party . I just remmber being so excited that I could go down and get Drivers license and drive myself to school. Dad had to drive me up to that time so he was glad also. LOL.

Yah, enjoy your time at your sons.

Hi Sue, I think the old forum is gone now . Haven't been able to get on for two days.

I posted over on facebook . Carm, Sculley(Rebecca) Birdie seem to post every day . Just like old times.

Have a good evening all .

Morning ladies,

Molasses, HUGS and prayers coming your way this a.m.

Bama, so glad you had such a nice time. Oh mother tried every year to surprise me. She usually did pretty good, but I told her I don't like surprises and didn't want a "Sweet 16" party, of course, she didn't listen and gave me one. I can still remember going to the record store in Smithtown to go pick up the 45 "Stormy" by Classic IV. I knew something was up when dad kept saying take your time. So I looked at him and said "she did it again, didn't she" and he gave me that hang dog look. That was the last one....thank goodness LOL

Oh me too Bama, as I had a car already and was just chomping at the bit to drive it... Black Beauty.....with Rolls Royce seat belts, compliments of the head mehanic, Johnny T (it was his car and got it for 300 bucks). Will see if I can post it later, if not will send you one by email.

Yeah it's been gone for a couple of days now Bama. "Sadness of the heart".

YAH, Molasses and Di (if you're looking in) Hi.

A nice Sunday to you all....oh and it just started to rain.

Well I am off to "me day" and next time you will hear from me with smell all cherry blossomy LOL

Have a great Sunday ladies,

Sue

Happy Sunday, everyone,

I've got some sad days to get through, I think. Although DA is 96 and has lived a good long life, it still hurts to see her so diminished. She is really not responding to much anymore. Yesterday she took a few sips of juice in the morning, but that was all; nothing today. I am just trying to keep her clean and comfortable. It will be nice if hospice comes, but if not, it's okay. I've figured out how to get her sheets and pants changed by myself. I don't see her lasting very long, not more than a few weeks anyway, and less if she won't even drink. :(

Thank you for the hugs and prayers, Sue. What kind of car was Black Beauty? first car was a used AMC Pacer--brown with fake wood panels. How is that for cool? I didn't get it till I was in college though, till then sister and I just drove Mom's car. The summer after freshman year (and her soph) we pooled our funds and bought the Pacer. I had to go to work, so she and our mom went shopping. "Buy something red and sporty," was request! Not exactly.

Thanks for the hugs, Bama. And yes, sometimes I do want to slap DH! I don't think Sweet 16s were a big thing back when I was in school. Around here now, some people have elaborate wedding-like affairs. Kinda crazy, I think, but to each his own. A friend of mine's daughter was always buying a new dress for someone's fancy party the year she turned 16. I did get license at 16, but wasn't as excited as you were. I wasn't very confident in skills and usually just rode shotgun with sister. We were a one-car family so we never did drive to school; we either took the bus or walked.

Thank you for your kind words, Boss Man. aunt has been living with me for 5 years now. She lived alone till she was 91, but then because of her failing memory, social services said no more. She went to assisted living and hated it, so she came here. I am grateful to have had the opportunity to take care of her, as difficult as it has been at times.

Hope work went okay, YAH, and still sending hugs to you and Jade.

How is the challenge going, Angii?

I can hear dryer buzzing so I am off for awhile~have a great day, everyone!

Mo, I think your Aunt is probbly telling you it's time. I imagine she is ready to go You did a wonderful thing to take care of her . You will be blessed some day for sure. I wish we ladies were there to lend a helping hand but we are there in spirit at least .

The only reason I had a car at 16 was because dad paid for me to go to a better school and he had to drive me each day . He was just waiting for me to get of age so I could releive him . LOL> and of course had he not sent me there I wouldn't have made DH> We were so lucky as Parents were both home all the time. dad's office was in our basement . He was in real estate plus was a Justice of Peace and if you drove though our township and did a crime you got sent to Dad for fineing. Many times I remember sitting on the basement steps listening to daddy either fining someone or sending them to jail then the next day we could be of in the living room watching him performing a wedding . LOt of fun growing up . He was the highest paid in the state . 4500 a year !!!!!!!!!

Well I think I am ready for company that is arriving tomorrow so if I am missing until Thursday you will know why. Have a good week everyone I see son is on line and I need to find out how they are . They got a lot of snow . Here today at 10 am it was 70 but is getting colder and rain the rest of the week. :( .

Hi all,, hope you are enjoying your ME day to the fullest! Not doing anything much here, it is so Freezing cold:) I guess thru Monday for this one. Then a bit warmer and high humidity for work day Tues:) Then some lower one's again.
Dh went and got the deep well pump anyway as last day for sale. Warranty for I think it was only 2 yrs. and made wherever:( I guess if you wanted a Real good one, it would cost SO much more. Who knows when we will get it in then, when the boys can be here for it also and a lot warmer. He didn't et to see son or anyone as son had meeting at 3 pm while the rich one was in town:) Hopefully something comes out of it all. Anyway we never know what the plans are around there so did expect that as I would imagine if the kids were all done coughing etc., they would have other plans.
So van went somewhere anyway:) DB and SIL haven't come around so I imagine they are busy today too. course they could pop in yet but I'm not calling to see if their even down here.
Mo, hugs and wish your Dh could help you more. Dh was on the road etc. mostly when mom was here but would of helped if I asked. older son would have helped but he was working away from here and no car at that time. He was biggest helper with the kids. Doesn't sound too good for your DA but hopefully Mon. you will have some answers also. As mom didn't want any chemo or? she had a full year of pretty normal for her with her cancer and didn't want to be helped to stay alive if she wasn't able to enjoy anything. But she was 85 also and a big difference in all ways there. Just know we're all praying for the best for you and you have done all you could
Left book and calendar Again at work! Told sons to look:) With the cloth lime green cover on book with all the bright different colored gecho's on it, guess I didn't see it :D
Bama, enjoy your company tomorrow etc. I never had a birthday party period:) mom would make a normal cake, we would have it, DSis's might sing sometimes and I couldn't wait to get back outside again:) Never had any of those kind of parties but we knew we were special:) I think they go way overboard now with them now. Guess DIL is having 'one' family party for the both kids as their both in March and don't really know the difference. Maybe I'll get there this year, who knows.
Sue, enjoy your sweet smelling shower! Relax and enjoy your day all the way :sunshine: Hope you have nice weather or is it still damp over there? Enjoyed your comics a lot of course from your email:) Don't want to miss those!
I hope Di checks us out on here soon or maybe she is getting the quilt and all done first?
Anyway, everyone have a very good night and a good sleep also. I been getting some but get awake when I feel Jade getting up or off the bed etc. :( :coffee:

Hi again ladies,

Oh Molasses, I am so so sorry...and yes while she has lived a nice long life, it's still so hard and sad and as you said it hurts.

HUGS and more HUGS Molasses, and will do some special prayers for you too. I am crying with you right now. Glad you figured out a way to do it yourself.

Oh Black Beauty was a 62 Chevy Belair (had a V-8 engine so lots of power (283 block) and no power brakes (Johnny T gave us all the brake relining and other goodies we needed to change them and dad and I did just that). I had bumpers to die for and many a "young dude" with his little "p*ss ant" got smoked off the line by 'little ole me' LOL Oh I got mine while in HS at 16 but didn’t drive it that much till I was 17 and out of HS. Remember having a birthday in December meant I wasn't the same age as everyone else, who was 18. Was a real bummer going some places.

Oh Molasses, I have that same "slap reflex" sometimes too.

Remember Molasses, not a dryer....but an Ethel LOL

YAH sorry about the temps today and hope your hubby did well today getting what he needed. Sorry no guests today.

Oh no on your book and calendar sure hope you get them back.

If you sniff real good you can get a whiff of that Wild Cherry Blossom LOL Nope raining and damp and chilly and just not nice. Oh I will promise to send you comics for your weekly .

I wrote to Dianna and told her we all missed her, but as you said I know she wanted to get the quilt done.

Well I am off to go play Ricochet, Bookworm, Super Collapse, Collapse Crunch, Mahjong Escape-Ancient Japan, and Combo Chaos!

Heard from Dianna, she says HI and she has been reading but not ready to join in yet. She finished her quilt and hubby is still working on the bathroom.
