Smith Machine when used right can guaranty that the knees don't go beyond your feet - it's a little more difficult when using the squat rack, but when in doubt is the Smith better?

What should I do for cutting wanting to define waist? Anything different?

Swanso - did you ever summarize the results of the Biggest Loser Comp anywhere?

Thanks!

I'm here in beautiful sunny Bermuda! There's a small gym at the St George's Club and I won't have to miss workouts! They have everything I need - I'm so excited! Since most people sleep in on vacation, workouts won't interfere with anything :)

Ok - today's workout was a little different, very small space and the Smith machine was in use. Very old DB's, 3 Treadmills - 1 bench - and an all in one machine with cable pull downs and leg press etc.

Anyway - much better than nothing and I'll have to go a little earlier as with 5 people it was full!

Treadmill - 5 minute warm up at 4 MPH incline 5

Bench flyes (not incline) 12.5 lb DB's 2 x 10

Single arm rows - 45 lb DB 3 x 5 x 2

Bench Press (15 lb DB's) 3 x 8

Standing Shoulder Press - 15 lb DB's 3 x 8

Smith Machine- Squats 115 lbs. 3 x 10 (much easier using Smith Machine!)

Place was full at that point and no where else to go!

Until tomorrow!

workouts are getting later in the morning - sleeping in somewhat :)

Warmed up with 5 min on the treadmill @ 4 mph incline 5.

Tried to do incline flyes but couldn't - muscles VERY sore - I think I did them Mon with weights heavier than I should. So started with Incline DB Bench Presses 20 lb DB's 3 X 10 (highest DB weight for this exercise, felt good)

Single arm rows - 45 lb DB's 3 x 5

Squats (Smith) had 90 lbs on the bar plus whatever the bar weight is (not sure on Smith, is it 45 lbs?) 3 x 5

Combo dead lifts/Rows - 20 lb DB's - 3 x 8

Finished up with Lat Pull Downs-60 lbs 3 x 8

I miss gym at home! Not enough room here to do floor BW exercises and when I'm back to our cottage it's time to go to the pool or beach! LOL - I guess it counts that I "think" about them, right Lynn? :):)

Yesterday walked everywhere, lots of hills and steps-butt will be in great shape when I get home :)

There is a rule, I'm sure of it, that when on vacation you MUST sleep in, so don't worry about that, you wouldn't want to go against policy :D

I'm just so darn proud of ya, girl for doing the workouts in the first place!! I mean here you are in BERMUDA for goodness sakes and not only have you managed to find a gym, but you are making time to do a workout! That is awesome! A good balance of fun, rest, relaxation, letting your hair down a bit, and exercise....it doesn't get any better than that! YOU GO GIRL!

I like that rule too! Today was a little overcast, but sat at the pool, read a book and then decided to walk to a cafe for some "local" fish sandwiches - yum, yum!!! I'm SURE the walk made up for all that tarter sauce....now resting with third Grey Goose with a splash of cranberry - that's what will do me in here! The sun is shining now and w've got some shopping to do! I need to find something nice for the wonderful people taking care of 5 lb Pom Precious - I've been getting e-mails daily about her activities directly from Precious herself! So darn cute!!! Makes it so much easier when I'm away to know how much baby is loved!

Every day in Bermuda is perfect! But home is where family is - miss childen and grandchildren ( and puppy of course) so no, won't be relocating.

Yesterday beached it all day - not a lot of exercise. Read a book and stayed in the shade half the time - getting very dark, but face burning no matter what I put on.

Today resumed weight training with a 5 min warm up on the treadmill at 4.2 mph incline 5.

Dead lifts - 70 lbs on bar, definitely 45 lb bar (at least!) So 115 total 3 x 6

Single arm rows - 45 lbs 3 x 5

DB Bench Press - 2 x 10 with 15 lb DB's 2 x 10 with 20 lb DB's

Smith Squats - 3 x 6 115 lbs

Lat Pull Downs- 60 lbs 3 x 8

Finished with combo DL/Rows with 20 lb DB's - 2 x 10

Tonight going to see Mary J Blige with Robin Thick at the National Stadium in Bermuda! Was able to get VIP tics- yeah!
