Okay, a couple of mistakes I made, I feel I must point out - if nothing else to further prove the point of how important it is to properly fuel the body and PREPLAN ALL your meals...
But first...something I was feeling yesterday while running that 5 mile trail run:
One of the women that was running yesterday I have known for years, and about 8 or 9 years ago (when I was in top racing form) she was just starting out and was heavier and slower than me - I always liked her and encouraged her back then to stay with it. Well, apparently she took advice because yesterday on the trail she was leading the group of us, and she is now smaller than me and faster than I am....for now.

Talk about incentive!!! Most of you who know a little about me can probably figure out what thoughts were as i ran down that trail, following her skinny butt....NO MATTER WHAT IT TAKES, HOW LONG IT TAKES, OR HOW PAINFUL IT IS...BEFORE THIS YEAR IS OVER I WILL PASS THIS WOMAN IN A RACE...AND SHE CAN BE FOLLOWING SKINNY BUTT DOWN THIS TRAIL...BEGGING ME TO SLOW DOWN!!
At one point on the trail she called back over her shoulder...."is Lynne still back there?"...I was about 20 feet behind her and another girl and I thought "don't you worry girlie...I'm right here breathing down your neck!" "I will fall over an die before I let myself fall behind!"...But of course I answered out loud "I'm right here!!" just sweet as pie.

hehehe....like a animal stalking its prey....just wait...
Now the other thing...After I finished running I was in a big rush...had to pick up son from folks house, get him to youth group at church, get back home, shower, do a few needed chores (water, feed dogs, etc.) then get back to church to pick up son, get back home him something to eat since it was nearing his bedtime, and just a bunch of things kept me from remembering to eat something...so by the time I had a moment to myself - 2 hours after run...I was so exhausted and body was so weak, I couldn't even think straight anymore to figure out what to eat. I literally was about to collapse. So, in that moment of exhaustion I just caved in and ate a PB & J sandwich and some chips. Definitely NOT on list of foods to eat, especially late in the evening, but i just couldn't think of anything else, I was too tired to cook (poor hubby had to eat leftovers) and just wanted to go to bed.
So, word to the wise - let me be an example of how it is great to get a late evening workout in...but it is JUST as important to take the time to pre plan and refuel your body within 20 to 30 minutes of the workout - don't wait 2 hours - it's too late then.
I'm still tired today, but will do workout this evening...weigh in Friday a.m.
have a great day everyone!! thanks for reading this long post...
