Thanks bossman and Nokie.

As for the cheat this weekend... I don't, in any way, feel like the cheat set me back and I really don't feel like it was a "face plant" situation. In fact, I feel like I had been very slowly slipping all week and really just needed to get those cravings out of system. Honestly, I think the cheat was necessary and am glad that I finally just gave in so I could start fresh again this week and be ready to finish out the next two months. Many trainers and athletes highly recommend a cheat meal once a week... I've been afraid to do this for fear that regular cheat meals would set me back. In all reality, "cheat" was about 700-800 calories. Yes, this is a crap load of calories and I realize that. However, I did eat a bowl of oatmeal with eggwhites and a protein shake earlier in the day as well as eggwhites, cottage cheese, and veggies after the cheat. total calories for the day was maybe 1500-1600. In addition, I also worked out twice that day, both extremely hard workouts. Sooo as I said... I really believe no true damage was done other than a stomach ache and some pretty intense water retention. :) To be honest, I really hesitated in posting that little "slip up" in fear that people would think less of me or think that i'm weak... However I decided to post it to show that EVERYBODY falls off the wagon a little sometimes. The best thing you can do when that happens is to pick yourself up, make a note of how crappy you feel when it does happen, move on, and get over it.

So today I'm 53 days out. No big news to mention today. The diet yesterday was great... I feel much better now that i'm back on regular eating schedule.

I hope all is well with everbody!

As always... thanks for your support and if I can help anybody in any way feel free to shoot me a message. :)

Well personally I would never think you are weak, or think less of you.

I don't think anybody could ever think less of you, for anything. Whatever you do in life, I know you'll never doing anything that betrays your character, and I know you'd never sell yourself out, or be anything less than true to yourself.

You're just not that type of person at all, that's even if you ever have been at any time in your life, which I seriously doubt :).

Hey Cassie, Don't ever be afraid to post your "slip ups" or worries or concerns. They are just as important to sort through as your triumphs, victories and successes. I know its already been said but...you are human and you had one day where you gave in to some long staved off cravings. It doesn't change the course you are on...nor does it alter the outcome. You are doing something that most of us never get any farther than just wishing or dreaming about. Hold your head high, keep marching forward, it's all a learning process...the good and the bad. I believe in you totally. You are an awesome role model and I know when the competition comes you are going to be great, giving it 100% and working those 6" stilettos! :D

Hello everybody!

I'm baaaack! I've been away from computer for the past 5 days so haven't been able to post. Figured I should check in.

So I'm less than 7 weeks out now.... 47 days I believe.

This past week has been a tremendous mental and physical challenge, however I'm proud to say that i have stuck with the program strictly. In a nut shell... I have spent the past 5 days remodeling the inside of house... by myself... working about 10-11 hours a day in addition to working out twice a day and maintaining the low carb/low calorie diet. Its a DARN good thing I've been working by myself as I have been in a pretty terrible mood for the past 5 days! In addition, gym is closed for a week (starting today) so I have been stressed out trying to figure out how I'm going to workout without access to any equipment/weights. Luckily, I was able to swing by the other local gym in town and purchase a temporary membership for only $15. Problem solved!

I'm planning on this week being equally challenging as I am now back at work (work 8-5 mon-fri) and I still have work to do on house as I'm planning on moving into it this weekend... In addition I'm 7 weeks out from the competition so really can't afford to skimp on workouts or let diet get off track. Needless to say, this week will most likely bring a lot of early mornings and late nights. On the bright side... I'm hoping all of this work i'm doing is helping to burn a few extra calories and I've found that paiting and texturing walls is a great arm and shoulder workout. :)

Enough about me... I hope all is well with everybody and I hope you are all continuing to work hard towards your goals! :)

The main thing is you somehow managed to adapt to your situation, not get bummed out, and just not bother training, for a few days.

The only time I've ever done that, is when the Gym shuts over Christmas and Easter, but even the time I sprained an ankle on some stairs, and the other time I ended up with stiches in one hand, I still worked out how to get around the problem, because I wasn't going to sit about for a few weeks, feeling like a tool, wallowing in myself.

So you can be very, very proud of how you have been so strong. As I've said before, after you clarified things, I understand better now about that "moment", not that it changed thinking about you at all, but throughout everything you've been doing, you have been so strong, committed, and absolutely focused, and bang on the money, and of course I'm extremely proud of you.

You're already proving to be a winner, and you definitely have all the qualities of a true champion, so every successful day for you, increases belief in your potential and future, and belief in you as a person.

WELL DONE misses. You are one amazing young Lady, and a truly amazing rolemodel.

i hope you are resting enough.

and not stressing.

the remodeling and gym shortage and being alone working on ya house all ornery sounds like stress and lack of good sleep.

i'm no expert but i have slept at several holiday inn express in day.......

LOL! Well I guess youre right Lesplease. :)

Oscar... Luckily I have been getting a decent amount of sleep. You're right, it is soooo important to make sure to get enough especially when training and dieting. As for the stressing... Well i've been staying with parents for the past 2 1/2 months waiting for renters to move out of house so i can get in, get it fixed, and get stuff moved. renters are finally out and i'm scrambling to get the house fixed up a bit so i can move stuff. Sooo I am a bit stressed but i'm hoping to have the house ready to go by this weekend so i can get moved and be out of parents house. Its only temporay stress.... should be better by this weekend. (Yay!)

So today I worked out at the new gym. Got in a GREAT workout! I'm so thankful that I was able to get that temporary membership! I think the stress of having to figure out what to do for workouts for the next week was even more than the stress of remodeling house! I'm glad that worked out so well. :)

Hope all is well with everbody! Thank you for your continued support and inspiration!

44 days... assuming I counted correctly.

Post by cassiegose »

44 days to go now... That just a little over 6 weeks.

I've been kind of MIA on the forums lately as life has been just a bit much to handle. Without going into too many details... living with parents for the past (almost) 3 months has me pretty much emotionally drained (why on earth do parents have to be so ridiculously crazy?)... and remodeling house while trying to workout twice a day and eat limted carbs/calories has physically drained. Today I feel pretty much tapped out. However, the show must go on so I will keep on keeping on and hope the stresses that are in life will subside SOON.

Because I am in the process of "offically" moving, Ive had to find a new trainer as old one is now 4 hours away. I've made plans to meet with new trainer on August 30th. I'm pretty nervous as I honestly have no idea if i'm on the right track or if I will be ready in time. I haven't been able to meet with other trainer for over a month now so really haven't been getting any input on diet, training or progress. When I meet with the new trainer on the 30th we will be doing an "assessment" to see if I will be ready by the October 3rd show. At this point... 6 weeks out.. I'm really wondering if I will be ready in time. As I type this I know I'm going to get some responses about how I shouldn't doubt myself or abilities and how i need to be confident and get up on stage no matter what... however the bottom line is that I've worked butt off (literally... i've gone down almost 4 pant sizes... lol!) and I refuse to step on stage if I don't feel 100% ready. I know that I've been giving training and diet very BEST efforts, and if the October 3rd show comes and i find that I just can't be ready in time, then I'm prepared to be flexible with schedule and pick another show with a later date (probably some time later in October or sometime in November). I'm still planning on doing 2 back to back shows... but will find out next weekend what show I will be ready for. I know that i still have over 6 weeks for this upcoming show and I'm honestly not backing out or changing plans without speaking with new trainer... just trying to be realistic and mentally prepared just in case I find that I'm just not ready for the October show. This show has brought quite alot of stress to life with preparing food, making sure diet is spot on, avoiding certain social situations to make sure i could stick to diet/training schedule, and working schedule to ensure that i can get in all of workouts. I've definitely enjoyed the process and I'm so proud of myself for the progress that I've made. However, I was really getting stressed thinking about what I would do if i wasn't ready in time and i finally just decided that if i'm not ready by October 3rd then I'll simply pick another show and give myself a little more time to prepare. No need to make it more complicated then it is and no need to add more stress to an already overly stressful and complicated life. :)

Phew! With that said... I'll post the diet and training schedule that i've been following just in case anybody is interested.

wake up 4:30... 1/2 protein shake
workout
Meal 1: 1 protein shake (protein powder in water)
Meal 2: 1/2 cup oatmeal, 1 cup eggwhites
Meal 3: 1/2 cup oatmeal, 3/4 cup eggwhites
Meal 4: 1 tilapia fillet, veggies (usually brocolli, green beans, or asparagus)
Meal 5: 1 tilapia fillet, sirloin, or chicken, veggies
workout
Meal 6: sirloin, chicken, or fat free cottage cheese, veggies

As I get closer to the show I will cut back to only 1/3, then 1/4 cup oatmeal with the eggwhites, I will also cut out the cottage cheese about 3 weeks from the show. Some days I add in more oatmeal (and/or sweet potatoes if i have time) for a few more carbs. I was eating sweet potatoes regularly, however haven't had time to prepare any lately... and I like oatmeal better so it works I guess.

For workouts: This makes me tired just typing it! Don't try this at home. :)

Monday morning: back, chest, 45 minutes cardio or 30 minutes HIIT
Monday night: 30 minutes HITT or 45 minutes cardio
Tuesday morning: 1 hr spinning, shoulders and abs
Tuesday night: 45 minute cardio or 30 minute HIIT
Wednesday: INTENSE leg day with plyometrics (hop squats, jumping lunges, step ups, running steps, box hops). 45 minutes cardio
Wednesday night: 45 minutes cardio
Thursday morning: 1 hr spinning, abs
Thursday night: 45 minutes cardio
Friday morning: biceps, triceps, HIIT or cardio
Friday night: cardio
Saturday: legs 4 sets of 15-20 doing extensions, hamstring curls, deadlifts, squats/leg press, HIIT
Saturday night: cardio
Sunday: Off

I definitely know that i'm over training, however the trainer suggested the two 45 minute sessions of cardio each day so there it is. When I meet with new trainer I will review this with her to make sure i'm on the right track. I've been losing pretty steadily, however with all that cardio i'm concerned that i'm setting myself up for a plateau. I guess I'll cross that bridge when i get to it.

I hope all is well with EVERYBODY as you all continue to work towards your goals. :)

Swanso... I believe all athletes are required to take a drug test before the show. But yes, as for athletes being all drugged up, it is a sad but very real part of the bodybuilding world. If any women out there ever read the magazine "Oxygen" I was skimming through that magazine with trainer a few weeks back and she knows many of the women figure athletes that are regularly featured in the magazine. According to her, about 90% of the athletes featured in that magazine are taking illegal drugs to get and keep their bodies in the kind of physical condition that they are in. Its pretty sad, and it definitely makes the playing field unfair when it comes to people like me who are attempting to go at it naturally. Oh well though.. it guess its just one of those harsh facts of life. :)

Thank you everybody for your continued support. You guys are the best and have helped immensly in keeping me motivated and inspired for this show.
