What's wrong with milk?

Someone told me I should avoid drinking milk and stick to eating yogurts and cottage cheese. Is milk bad for some reason?

Yah, someone else told me the same thing. They said one bagel a day is enough. What's a good alternative? I was thinking maybe whole wheat pita bread.
