I agree with Boss Man. I think that relatively speaking, it is your muscles that are most responsible for burning calories. Therefore if you have more muscle mass you will burn more calories when you exercise, burn more calories at rest, and any other time. Muscle mass is a key factor in weight loss...

I'll go the other way here.
I'd suggest you say screw you diet and just become a powerlifter. You definitely have the structure for it.

i was going to formulate a post, but I think bossman hit it perfectly. try that program for a year and then recalibrate as needed.

If you have any "hard core" gyms near you (gyms that powerlifters and serious athelets train in), you can look for a machine called the reverse hyper. Many serious lifters use this machine for back rehab. See this video by the inventor of the reverse hyper https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a...
