Always lower the weight under control and then explosively lift it as fast as possible for every exercise, regardless of your goals. Lifting the weight as fast as possible allows you to lift heavier weights. This is due to the fact that when you lift as powerfully as possible, you use more muscle fi...

the hamstrings don't actually get "tight" but rather they are in a constant lengthened position and are weak so the force couple between the hamstrings and the quads is out of whack...stretch the quads and flexors and strengthen the hams as posted above...most don't need a lot of ham stre...

I think theres a slight tilt, can't really tell, is excessive anteriour pelvic tilt serious or can it be 'fixed' with exercise? You're not alone. It is common for people to have tight hip-flexors and hamstrings. Make sure you stretch these! I recommend Leg Circles and the Lunge & Twist for the ...

Re: Any tips or suggestions based on what I am doing?

First of all I'd like to thank everyone for their help and input in advance. I just started working out about 3 weeks ago. I can notice some change and improvement. This is the routine I've been following for 3 weeks, 3 times a week: Run 2 miles, various upper body exercises for about 1 hour. Bench...

What if you find it impossible to do a chin-up? The only way to get better at doing Chin-ups is by doing Chin-ups. One way to work on Chin-ups is to use the assistance Chin-up machine where you place your knees on the pad. Another way is to have a spotter push your hips/lower back up toward the bar...

The Split Press is similar to the Military Press, except one of your legs is positioned in front of the other. Basically, you stand with your feet about shoulder-width apart. Then place one of your legs (your dominant one) about 12 inches in front of the other leg. Then, perform a strict press (usin...

The best exercise for adding size and strength to your biceps is the Close-grip Chin-up (palms facing you). Perform a normal chin-up with your hands about 6 inches apart.

Forget the curls.

Instead of worrying about your form for an exercise such as Shoulder Lateral Raises, why don't you focus on an exercise that will develop strength and size in your medial/anterior/posterior delts, traps, and triceps simultaneously? I strongly encourage you to perform Standing Overhead Presses (Milit...

The Full Front Squat is one of favorite lifts. It is extremely demanding when performed correctly, but the results are well worth the effort. Like the Full Back Squat, your entire body will be stressed from head to toe, and it will lead to tremendous gains in strength, power, and endurance. You will...

I can offer you better exercises for both your shoulders and biceps.

Shoulders: Try the Overhead Barbell Press. Or, try Push Presses as suggested by swanso5.

Biceps: Try weighted Chin-ups.
