What makes someone either one of these?

I had a talk with one gym member, and she lifts heavy...etc. and the whole full body weight/split days came followed by me saying: I do not consider myself a beginner in weight lifting.

Other than the fact I did it before, WHICH was where I was a beginner, I am pretty comfortable around weights and know quite a few things more than the females who spend hours on a treadmill at the gym.

I've been seriously lifting again in the past 3 months, and obviously gained some muscle. I could tell/feel it.

Which brings me to another point.

I'm 3 weeks with Chad Waterbury program of "Fat Loss". I am not sure why it's called that, or if it actually helped me gain muscle or not...

Should I after another 3-4 weeks change up the routine to a split? I do want to gain maximum amount of muscle I could get. goal is really to gain 0.5-1kg of muscle every month, and I believe that's realistic and do-able.
