I have heard that the more water you drink the bettter it is and that somehow it helps definition (i think that's what it was). Firstly, is this true? If it's true then why and how much should i drink each day (does the time i drink matter).

Yes, you can drink water during your workout.

In reguards to the next question, drinking plenty of water can reduce water retention. So you may hold less water under your skin. Drinking plenty of water is helpful because when you don't drink enough water (which many people don't) the kidneys dump their workload on the liver, making it more difficult for the liver to metabolize stored fat. Drinking plenty of water helps with many other body functions.

How much water are you drinking now?

I'm not really sure, but i do know that i don't drink enough. So i'd say about 2L (complete estimate) so if i drink, let's say 5L a day, will i actually see a visible change?

If you are not sufficiently hydrated during your training session, it will definitly decrease performance. Even a small deficiency can have a fairly significant impact. Therefore, drinking 12-16 cups, or 3-4 liters, per day is essencial for someone fairly active.

When you don't drink adequate amounts of water (or other non-caffeinated liquids), the kidneys reabsorb fluid to maintain fluid balance and you make less urine. It's important to drink enough to remove waste products from the body.
