What Protein sources does he eat? Also he needs to be aware that Cardio, can burn muscle.

Also too many Carbs can convert to Fats, so the obvious answer at this stage, would be sub some of the Carbs, with Protein sources, based on what you just said.

If you or he can enlighten us further as to his dietry regimen, then that would be good, as naming a couple of food groups, is a bit vague at the minute.

I agree that he needs protein, but too many calories regardless of the source (carbs, protein or fat) is converted to body fat. Seeing that his caloric intake is inadequate (most likely since he's eating only fruit and veggies), I doubt that will be a problem. Total calories need to be increased to even support the exercise. Cardio as well as resistance exercise can burn muscle with inadequate calorie intake.

im a wrestler myself and i cant quite argue and say that it is good for u. im sure there are no long term effects as long as ur not wrestling for the rest of your life... its extremely demanding physically tho so of course being a wrestler (im assuming its not your friends first year wrestling) hes going to be strong regardless so yeah.. i myself am an avid healthguy and although muscles are much larger than fellow wrestlers, they are quite stronger.... so ya its clearly a lack of proper rest and nutrition
