I usually drink a protein shake after working out, or sometimes if I know I'm going to have to miss a meal. I've been using a protein powder we sell where I work, it's soy & spirulina and only costs about $7 per pound. I usually mix it with soymilk (I'm allergic to milk) and figure it's got about 25g of protein by the time it's mixed.
However, I'm noticing all these other protein powders that claim to do crazy stuff and cost more like $25/lb. Sure they have 30g of protein, but is there really enough of a difference to warrant the extra cost? The stuff I use has a ton of vitamins and such in it, but the others list a lot of weird proprietary stuff, and I have no idea if that's better or just a gimmick. Advice?

w/out being a bio chenmist how would we know is suppose...but as you said it's all gimmick probably...if your tastes alright and seems to do the job than stick with it...i usually buy the biggest tub i can find at the cheapest price regardless of brand...last one i got 2 weeks ago was 5kgs for 80 bucks australian
