Protien Intake.

Post by (Rage) »

I find it hard to get enough protien lately. I'm not sure how much I should get a meal, and there are some meals protien intake it so slow. 7 grams maybe? That won't help with muscle recovery, would it?

So I was thinking about having 2 times soy protien shake, one after workout, and one whenever i'm having a meal with little protien.
Is that fine?

I mean yoghurt itself is not enough for a protien source. Nor egg. (themselves).

I don't want to eat too much meat, I usually eat meat twice a day. Once chicken, once turkey, other than these two, I don't prefer any other meat.

The snacks that are likely poor are the ones after lunch, and the one after dinner (last meal that I have, which is around midnight, or an hour b4 midnight)

I grab anything to eat, but if have a shake here, it would be weird, cause i would have had one not long time ago, since i workout at night now.

Yes I can't see a problem with Soy Protein, especially as it's got Isoflavones, which are very good at preventing problems relating to excess Oestrogen in Women.

I'd have about 20-25 grams, so if that's what's in a scoop have 1 scoop.

Youghurt is good Protein, but a pot usually contains 5-8g approx, so the quantity is often not sufficient. It has about 3.5-4 times more Carbs.

Yeah i know youghrt is good. I have it low fat, but to include it as the only source of protien in a meal is not enough.

The one I have, soy protien, it's 14 grams one scoop. I don't fill the whole scoop, cause it's damn big, and I think it gors over 14 grams, and honestly I hate the taste, didn't try soy b4, and this is frist time, I'm just trying to finish it soon, so i can get whey.

How many grams of protien i should have BEFORE workout, and how much i should have AFTER workout? About how many grams?

Have about 20g-25g, 1-2 hours pre-workout, then the same amount directly after workouts.

Damn, that's tough. I do get 14 grams without the food ill eat after workouts from the shake, but i usually eat 30 minutes later...the shake makes me feel so full as it is!

I'll try to keep that in mind though!

with water?! that would tatse nasty!!!!
i think? I'll try.

Hm..i usually have it with low fat milk.
I was just thinking of it. The whole scoop is 14 grams. The amount of milk I have it about 8...so that means 22 grams of protien after workout, other than the food that I have 30mins-1hour later.

Soy sucks as it is, and i can't imagine having it with water, i dont know, does it blend like with milk and such?

2day I had 2 eggs at the same time, i guess it's bad, cuz i had 2 yolks. The prb is i like yolk, for me it's what makes the egg tatse good.

I dont usually have 2 eggs, i sorta feel it's too much, but since today i had the lowest amount of protien, i ate 2 eggs with cottage cheese in brown bread.

then later ate 2 turkey sandwichs, each with cottage cheese. & b4 that, i put the whole scoop in shake. Yuck. I hate soy, but im getting used to it now.

Then mix the two Egg Whites with one Yolk. You'll still get some Protein, Lutein etc etc, but cut LDL Cholesterol consumption

to be honest, as silly as this seems, i think ive been eating the worst way you can eat an egg. Fried. Ehm.
Yes. I usually like the egg with the eye thing. I dont know what they call it.

I could eat it boiled, but i dont like it boiled.

is it that bad?!!!

Boiling an Egg is not bad, but if you do that you can't siphen off additional Yolks, so they remain whole.

Scramble the beggers. Takes less than 1minute, (after Egg prep), so there's no excuse to improve how you consume Eggs. Boiling takes Longer, Fried a little bit longer.

Scrambling Eggs, has one slight downside, that some content can end up like a yellow skin on the sides, which has a pretty crummy texture, but the remaining Egg content tastes great.

That minor negative aside, Scrambling is the most superior Egg cooking method going. You can Poach Eggs, which allows Yolk siphening, but even that takes longer, and poaching dishes within the pan, have limited capacity, so you'd end up probably with a Poached whole, and a Poached white, which might not taste as good as the whole.

So basically scramble Eggs, in any Egg based situation. For speed and end result nothing outdoes it.

i have no clue what poach means! anyways, scramble it is then, cause i like it scrambled...

btw, does low fat, or full fat stuff has dif amount of protien in them? Cause in some stuff it does...i noticed that low fat yoghurt has more protien, than full fat yoghurt...milk, i dont know, i think the same...
sometimes i eat full-fat stuff. not regulary though, but i read somewhere here, maybe or out, i dont know, that in low fat stuff, some good minerals are taken off with the fat, so it's fine to have full-fat stuff evety once in a while, right?

Poaching is a kind of Egg simmering technique.

You have a pan, with three compartments in it, that have little handles for taking them in and out, and you put the Eggs in them, and then place a lid over the pan.

You then end up with kind of semi-spherical Eggs, but they take longer than Scrambling.
