Number of Exercises.

Post by Nblight »

When I go to the gym I usually do two or three muscle groups. I do one exercise for each muscle group I'm working out that day, then I do 20-25 minutes on the stairmaster or bike. I walk to the gym from school, and home from the gym.

Is this enough? Should I be doing more exercises per muscle, per day? I workout Monday and Tuesday with Wednesday off, then again Thursday and Friday. I usually take weekends off.

I work biceps/back/legs one day and triceps/shoulders/chest another. I'm usually at the gym for about an hour, total.

Thanks. :)

if training 3 a week do full body mon, wed, fri

if training 4/week do lower x 2 days mon, thu and upper x 2 days tue, sat

for full body large muscles (quads, hams/glutes, back, chest) x 3 sets x 1 exercise and the rest 2 sets x 1 exercise...for each day of the week choose a different exercise for each muscle essentially making up three routines

for lower / upper split you can add more exercises so maybe 6 - 8 for large muscles x 2 - 3 exercises and 3 - 4 x 2 for sml

for cardio do 15mins x interval training (1min easy / 1min hard)
