Cutting Water
Hey guys. as a qualified Nutrition instructor, I like to think I know a bit about how to get rid of excess water, and most of advice works for others, except me!! Does anyone have any good strategies for dropping water. I have the kind of body type that seems to love hanging on to water especially around the navel area...I am wanting to do a show next year so need to do some dry runs on cutting water. Any advice greatly received and if I can help anyone with anything else then let me know...many thanks

Re: Cutting Water
Try cutting your Salt intake. Excess causes things like water retention and Edema.
Certainly avoid diuretic type things like Caffeinated products and crappy products like Taraxtone, incase you increase your risk of dehydration.

Re: Cutting Water
I would recommend cutting grains and from your diet (if you eat them) and see how your measurements change around the waist. Try it for 30 days and see how it feels. I like looking tight and being well-hydrated, and cutting grains from diet is making both possible at the same time so far.
Do you eat grains currently?

Re: Cutting Water
Thanks, yes I do eat grains!!
I think I have a lot of salt to lose, anyone tried the sauna trick, where by u use a sauna for say 15 mins, take a break, take on some water and keep repeating it until your sweat stops tasking salty(yuk!) as from understanding the excess salt is what pulls the water(attracts it) so if you eliminate the excess salt from ur body by sweating it all out and then replacing the water u lost through the sweating u should be albe to get rid of the water. Then by keeping track or ur sodium intake to stop iy from happening again?

Re: Cutting Water
I've not heard of that trick, but it sounds a bit nutty. Saunas are fine for moderate periods of time, if you like the idea of them. Personally I wouldn't go in one, incase I ended up with skin like old rope
.
Personally I think It would be easier for someone, to just decrease their daily salt intake, without doing mildly absurd sounding, sauna based weight loss gimmicks.

Re: Cutting Water
Ive seen supplements at the Vitamin Shoppe that are designed to cut excess water. But I'm not sure how much they work, I only saw the same two customers ever continue to use it after their initial purchase. One of them was called Expel by MHP. I cant remember what the ingredient was though. I know Im late, but I hope this helps.
Re: Cutting Water
Taraxtone is one such thing, but likely to be a temporary result, because if you don't address the reason for the excess water, which could be salt related, you will get reoccurance of the problem when you stop using the product.
I don't really rate such products anyway.
