Afternoon ladies,

Time for me to catch up before I am off line for today.....

I see you were in the 90's Saturday, Bama, we went to 104 but not too bad since it could have been worse. Hard part is the AQ with all the fires burning. I see you were inside in the a/c and puttering about the house.

Oh I can't wait to see the picture of the goose outfit....Yeah the geese getting hit saddens me too.

We have pounds here too where they go and then fly over.

I heard good things about Aldies.

Chuckling over moving to solve the paver bricks problems.

I see you are doing well with you challenge.

I did well over the weekend sleeping till Monday night came....but it is what it is.

I agree with the doctor Bama, I'd love 6 hours straight too....same goes for Chuck.

So did you get caught up on Blue Bloods.

Oh yes very different Bekah a lot of stuff that was on the Jersey boardwalk isn't there any longer....

As you know Bekah we went cold turkey off our diet Dr. Pepper but then it was bothering both of us "chest gas" wise and we went to ice tea. I drink the real type with tea bags all day. At dinner out of the Lipton Jar and at lunch I do the jar too but Raspberry.

Good luck with the "no soda"....

Chris welcome back and so glad to hear you had such a nice time too and just relaxing also. Cape Breton highlands sounds nice....where in Canada are they? I asked Chuck if he'd been there and he said can't remember. If on the east coast he has, if on the west coast he hasn't.

Wow Chris sounds like a wonderful time. Wishing you luck with the eating on track and exercise. Yup "old age" LOL

Yeah Molasses, I was short enough at 5'1 and a half but now 4'1l I will be soon getting a step stool with more steps LOL

Yup it's the bone disease for me also. I don't go to Trader Joe's and not sure the one here is still open. It does sound good. LOL about your lady from Long Guyland.... Glad you got your filling replaced. As you will see from email later this week...things went well but still have the tooth.

Hope you got to pull all the stuff out you wanted.

Chris, how cool on the hiking trail. And kudos on the nice long hike. Sounds like a blast. Plus I see you got to visit family too always a plus. Something relaxing that doesn't make you sweat a lot LOL

Well off I go to meds, etc.

A good evening to all,

Sue

Good morning all! It is one of the few days of rain we have had on our vacation. I am looking forward to the relaxing time. Yesterday DH and I headed out on our bikes before it got too hot. We tried one trail and they were working on it so we had to backtrack and take a different one. The one we ended on was overgrown and one or two wheel tracks. It was really nice and felt like we were in the middle of nowhere even though we hadn't left the city. So we did 13.5 miles according to bike computer so I was happy with that. :thumb:
Today I am going to run some errands like see if I can get hair cut, buy some sheets for the boys beds and browse a bit.
Hi Sue, Cape Breton Island is on the east coast, it is part of Nova Scotia. Some from Scotland say it is as nice as their highlands. I still want to go to Scotland though. The hike was nice but we never did find the waterfall that was there so we will have to try again some time. :D

Have a nice day all!

Morning ladies,

Chris, sounds like you are having a great time and wow on the miles and Cape Breton sounds beautiful. Chuck said he was there as his grandma grew up there.

Sorry about the rain but sounds like a nice day planned regardless. Bummer on not finding the waterfall. Yeah us too, we would have loved to see Scotland.

Well off to check mail, eat, vacuum and cook.

Wishing everyone a nice day.

Good Morning All and happy weekend to you! This is favorite weekend of the year! :D We have our highland games this weekend which means lots of bagpipes, drums, dancers and all things Scottish. DH and I were out last night to an opening concert. It was a great lineup.
I unfortunately stepped on the scales recently. :( :( It is really time to take health seriously. I will be working on a plan of healthy eating and working out and starting that on Monday. In the meantime I will try to make healthy eating choices and stop eating so much junk!
Anyway have a good weekend all!

Hey, Sisters,

Hope everyone is enjoying some relaxation on this Sunday evening! I think I'm just going to kick back with some magazines when I'm done here. I'm ready for a break. I feel like I'm getting carpal tunnel in both wrists from pulling weeds! We've had a few days of cooler weather (high of 84 today) so I've been taking advantage and have been getting some much-needed weeding done. I don't know which is faster--the passing of time, or the growth of weeds! :funny:

Such a cute truckload of puppies, Sue! I was having a rough day on Thursday, but a woman I talk to sometimes at the Y brought her 11 week old English lab into the Y so I could meet him. He was so adorable, and would fit right in with that crew in the truckbed. Totally made day! :sunshine: Hope you can finish your work soon.

I have every confidence that you'll get your weight where you want it once you start focusing on it, Chris. Great job on all the outdoor activity! The Highland Games sound like so much fun--enjoy them! (Speaking of Highland, I googled the Cape Breton Highlands, and it looks gorgeous!) Hope your haircut pleased you, if you were able to get in. Thanks on the projects. I will tackle the tile again once the blister on palm fully heals.

Hello, Bama, Bekah and YAH. Hope you are all doing well, too!

Sweet dreams, everyone!

Happy Monday All,
Thanks for the encouragement Sue and Mo. I did work on the eating a bit on the weekend. Lots of healthy fruit and veggies and I stayed away from the fries and greasy food trucks the whole time. :D One or two days won't it but it took time to get to this point and time and willpower will get me back.
I really enjoyed the highland games this year. One of favourite week-ends of the year.

Oh Sue I would love to play with those puppies!!!
Have a good Morning All!

Afternoon ladies,

And the dog days of summer are already here in July and August comes tomorrow with temps forecasted for Thursday, Friday etc as 107 108 and who knows how much higher....YUCK....however that's our norm this time of year and many years even worse in the 112's and above.

Hence why there is a/c everywhere in this state. LOL

I had a very nice relaxing Sunday thanks Molasses. Oh the evening was relaxing also. Oh no on the weeds. I still haven't gotten to ours as the AQ here with the fires has been way too bad. Such is life they will still be there. Plus with the heat very dried out and easy to pull.

Oh we would kill for 84 ....heck our night time temps are higher LOL

Thanks Molasses, it's one of favorite graphics. Oh he sounds so cute and yup he'd fit in. Yeah well once I go for the oral test for cancer (say prayers for me) and he gets back from vacay I will do so. However, also need to see primary, dermatologist and gyno too but at least she isn't till September.

Happy Monday to you too Chris. Your welcome and if you need some more just let us know. Kudos to you on the healthy fruit and veggies. Oh how I wish I could have been there for the games.

Yeah I like to picture them all around me while I sit in the middle and toss them tennis balls to play with.

I see a great walk at lunch time today.....good job, Chris.

Well off line I go.

Wishing everyone a wonderful evening,

Sue

Happy Tuesday All!
I didn't do much of anything last night. I watched a movie (Waking Ned Divine) and the first half of American Ninja Warrior. Today I am eating home grown veggies for lunch (leaf lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber and zucchini). Just came back in from a 30 minute walk. :thumb:

Hope you are all doing well!

Hi, all,

Happy August!

Hope your DH's visit went well, Sue, and good luck with your Thurs. shopping. I'm shopping tomorrow, too--I normally go on Wed., but Comcast was coming to our internet/phone this morning, so I came right home after work.

That sounds like a lovely lunch, Chris! I'm jealous that you've got zucchini. I got two very small zucchini before plants wilted up and died. They died last year of the same thing, so I need to do some research on better varieties, I guess. How did you like the movie? I haven't seen that. I heard great things about LaLa Land, so we watched it a couple weeks ago; it was kind of cute, but we started getting antsy for it to be over.

Sweet dreams, everyone~

Hi All and happy thursday! Just returned from another 30 minute lunchtime walk! :D Very hot out there with an even warmer humidex. I am sure it is nothing like you state-side friends.
Mo and Sue best of luck finding some great deals today! Mo I put zucchini in pots and keep them watered. Mine were small too but I had to pick them as the squirrels? were nibbling on them. Most of garden is in pots on deck this year, no water waste and less weeding. I liked the movie Waking Ned Divine. It is the second time I watched it. We borrowed it from the library. It is not action packed but there are some very funny parts.
Sue I hope the doctor visit went well for DH.

i have la la land. brother has vudu and i can watch his movies. I haven't finished it yet though. I did see hidden figures and i really enjoyed that movie a lot. i would watch it again.

haven't seen or heard about waking ned.

It's a cool 65 today here and rainy. Kind of nice for a change. i don't envy you Sue with that weather and AQ. But in winter time i will. :) I got your email so i will see read it tonight and see how your week went.

Good job on the walking Chris. Corn is out now for sale by farmers. i love it fresh off the cob.

mom's book is almost done. We are working on the cover, and back and the dedication page. Then i have to do the formatting. hopefully you tube and local library can help. All the pages were made in jpg and sent separately as we worked on them. So i have to take them and scan them in order in PDF with at least dpi of 500 or higher. We are publishing through create space. you can have as many rough drafts as you want so that is what i will be working on. mom is really excited so i don't want to disappoint with the appearance of the book. It's turning out really cute. so hopefully it looks good in book format. i hope the measurements were right too. I've double checked them and they seem to be. i will send any of you a copy if you want them. It's for a girl of maybe 6 or 7. :)

Have a good weekend. :)

Hi all,

Well I am finally getting to July report and August workout plan....so here goes:

July Report

July wasn't too bad with mixed workouts, missed one on the 4th with tummy issues, two morning ones due to shopping however, got a lot of walking done, and did evening one; two morning workouts due to no sleep the night before but got evening workouts in. Did skip an evening walking workout duet o dentist visit as was tuckered out. So six workouts short this month. Hope to do better in August.

Start date for August will be the 7th which I know is a week into the month but with it starting on a Tuesday I just finished the week off with July's workouts.

For the first two weeks on MWF mornings I will do The Upper Body Workout You Can Do Even If You Have Wrist Pain

http://www.fitnessmagazine.com/workout/ ... 9-20170529

MWF evening I will concentrate on I will again concentrate on the lower half of body with the Lazy Girl Workout of Seated leg lifts (25 times each leg), Side single leg lift (25 times each leg), Lower leg lift ( 25 times each leg), Foot warmers (3 minutes), Next is foot warmers...engage your abs and move your feet back and forth, Flutter Kicks (10 times up 10 times down); Tuesday and Thursday I will continue walking/dancing workout.

The last two weeks of August I will do Suzanne Bowen's 10 Minute Solutions Pilates Perfect Body Workout on MWF morning and will use the following workouts: On Monday will do arms and and Pilates Perfect Stretch; on Wednesday Buns & Thighs and Perfect Silhouette with the Pilates Perfect stretch. For the evening workouts on MWF will do Men's Workout leg portion of the workout and T-Th will be walking/dancing workout.

Food goals: Food goals have not changed but remain the same...continue to take vitamin D, and keep up the increase in the fruits and veggies in diet, and try some different type of veggies, which we have been doing well with. Also continue to try out some different recipes, which had we are bound and determined this year to do better with. I will also continue with the getting in chocolate several times a week. PB is no longer an eating option for me. As for desserts we have made a switch and am keeping portion controls as I need to. Our soups mixed with egg noodles are working out great giving up lots of veggies and the sauce is already included; in addition to getting 2 dinners out of a can. Plus tummy likes it too LOL We will continue to have them over other types of noodles, like little farfalle and ditalini pasta too.

We have made up a number of the following ideas for dinners and just adding to our menu. In addition we have a number of ideas for different bases to go over pasta, making casseroles, etc. Plus making calzones, and pastry filled with vegetables and other filling to add to our diet for even more variety. We did a test one and it worked out great.

Trying to continue a variety of foods in our diet. Doing very well getting fish into diet having it on most Friday's and have also been getting it in during the week also. In addition adding diced peppers, potatoes, corn, spinach and other veggies to go with the fish has worked out well too. Still have had to be careful on portions as stomach still rebels on occasion, hence no weight gain in 2017 and slowly increase portion sizes to maybe put some weight on. Some weeks it goes up but then comes right back down again. Wish me luck.
