Happy Monday, everyone!

Hope everyone had a great weekend. :sunshine:

I'm sorry your youngest is moving, YAH, and taking those darling grandchildren farther away. :( So many changes for them, but hope all goes smoothly with selling house, moving, etc. Enjoy them as much as you can before they leave.

Thanks on the mole and 'scopy, Sue. Glad you had a lovely anniversary, but sorry you were still up at 4:38 a.m.! Deadlift to high pull--I like the sound of that; will have to add it to arsenal. Love the compound moves! :D

DH and I are doing a 31 day challenge--you start by doing 10 reps each of lunges, squats and push-ups, and then add one more rep each day till you get to 40. I am trying to get him back into the habit of working out.

Sweet dreams, everyone!

YAH i know where St. Louis Park is. if you ever visit you aren't far from where i live. I also am going to Northern Michigan this summer although i don't know what dates. It is hard being away from grandchildren but you are within driving distance at least in a day or 2 day drive.

Sue i hope you are getting sleep. I've been sleeping better lately. knock on wood. maybe it's getting outdoors more. Happy Anniversary too. 40 years is definitely something to celebrate!

Mo, good luck on your challenge. did you like the habit book?

have a great day!

Happy friday all,
DH and I got out on our bikes after supper last night and had a nice bike ride. It was 30-40 minutes. I was pretty happy as I was doing better than I thought I would. :D Yesterday felt more like July than May. It was a nice reminder that there is warmer weather on the way.

We are feeling the heat here, too (it's 90 now) the last few days, but it's supposed to cool off for tomorrow, thank goodness!

Yay on the bike ride and walks, Chris! :thumb:

I see you've been active, too, Bekah! I haven't read the habit book yet but it's near the top of pile. :D

I had colonoscopy today and can't believe I dreaded it for so long. It was just totally No Big Deal. I ate lightly Wed., fasted Thurs., went through the prep process late afternoon/evening and was all cleaned out by bedtime in a very non-dramatic fashion. Got up this morning, drank the last prep stuff, then nothing by mouth after 5:30 a.m. Got to the center at 9, was home by 11. No polyps, no problems. The worst of the whole experience was the IV--it left arm a little sore. The staff, the dr, the anesthesiologist were all very nice and very competent. I'm done with that for 10 years. :sunshine: prep was even easier than DH's-- theory is that that was due to the fact that he ate a lot on Wed. to prepare for his fast, and I did the opposite, so not so much to get rid of.

I've got clothes on the line to bring in, then I think I'm going to pop a bowl of popcorn and relax with a book this evening. :)

Happy Friday, everyone!

that's a good idea about fasting before the colonoscopy, mo. I also love clothes on the line and the smell.

Great job on the walking daily and biking Chris. Do say how your rehearsal went? i'm all ears. :) I'm taking lessons from a new lady now who is closer only twice a month but she has a rehearsal in the park where you play with a band in the summer. kind of scary but fun. :)

cold and rainy here lately. all last week.

Thanks, Boss and Bekah. :)

Hope you like your new piano teacher, Bekah.

I was so happy we had a cool day today. Such a relief after 3 days of 90s! I had to work 6-10, but then came home and did some baking. I made plantain bread and sweet potato brownies, and a cheesecake for Monday when the kids come (improvised recipe, so hope it's okay), then I made pizza for dinner. I worked in the garden for bit, too; lots of weeds to pull!

Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend. :sunshine:

Happy Sunday All,
The recital went well last saturday. I wasn't nervous at first but I wasn't getting any sound either. It was kind of like air guitar but with bagpipes. No one listening could tell. Our little secret. I did get a nice surprise. When I got up on stage and looked down for family I found there were more people than I expected. sister and brother-in-law from away made a surprise visit. :wowzer: Very nice. They all enjoyed the pipes. I am planning on mastering the bagpipes by the time I hit 50! FYI that is a year and a bit.
Let see what have I been up to exercise wise... Friday night I had supper with a friend and we decided to have a nice walk afterwards. We are both like minded with fitness and health. She is an instructor for Les Mills Body Pump as a part time gig. So we had a great brisk walk maybe an hour? after supper. Yesterday I decided on a walk again and DH went with me for 40 minutes. Once breakfast is settled I will be out once again, this time on own. :thumb:
Congrats on the breezing through the colonoscopy Mo! I have been there and agree it is no big deal. Great hint on the eating light before hand. I have to do mine every 7 years as Dad got colo-rectal cancer. I am really happy he is doing as well as he is. It is worth it to keep an eye on things.
Oh Becky, are you still enjoying your piano lessons? I hope you enjoy the new teacher and try the playing in the park. It is nerve wracking but always good to step outside your comfort zone. Let us know how it goes. :thumb:
Well I had best get dressed and enjoy active time. Have a great day all!! :D

I quit piano lessons back when i didn't post for a while. teacher said i could come back anytime but since then i've been just playing on own. last night i couldn't sleep and played 2 hours. i'm starting lessons this week with a different teacher closer to me.. :)

Afternoon ladies,

Molasses, glad to help on the mole and scopy. Yes a wonderful anniversary and I am at the point I cherish those nights I sleep and read or do something on those nights I don't. I am with you I loved compound moves too. The whole arm workout is that way. Good luck with the challenge and hope you can get and keep hubby back on track.

Thanks on the anniversary wishes Bekah....yes 40 years legally and 42 years in September together as we "lived together" before we got married. Wasn't a big deal back then as it was the 70s...but some people had "issues" with it.

Chris, I see you are back to walking to work and sorry about the challenge, restart sounds like a good idea and hope the busy stuff slows down eventually for you.

Oh Chris, I remember those days of not wanting to go back after lunch hour LOL I see warmer there for you too. We will hit 100s on Monday and started on the 90s on Friday and Saturday and Sunday....Mr. A/C has been on.

I see a nice bike ride for you and hubby after supper on Friday. Me and mom used to do that years back. She was trying to lose the weight from brother and I wasn't to get more toned and be able to ride the bike longer and farther.

Enjoy your warmer weather, Chris, unfortunately ours will be "scorching" which means a/c and high power bills.

I see the "heat is on" in your neck of the woods too, Molasses. Glad the colonoscopy went so well and no big deal.

Oh I so miss putting clothes and sheets and towels on the line....mmmm popcorn and a good book one of "favorite things".

Bekah I see we share the love of clothes on the line and how exciting that she has a rehearsal in the park.

Molasses, glad your weather cooled off for you. I see some baking got done too with some goodies. What kind of improvised recipe for the cheesecake....inquiring minds want to know. MMM pizza. I see the garden got cleaned up too.

I need to get out in the backyard this week and pull the weeds.

So glad the recital went well on Saturday, Chris. Yes I'd get those nervous feeling too. Oh how nice that so many of your family were there to see and hear you play. I have every confidence of your goal being met of mastering them by 50.

I see you and your friend has a nice walk after a nice dinner, Friday. I see you and hubby went for one the day before and you are off by myself after breakfast.

Bekah I am with Chris always good to step outside your comfort zone.

Bekah, great on the weight lifting and enjoy the barre class. FREE is even better. I see you played for a couple of hours when you couldn't sleep. Glad you found a teacher closer to you.

Well I am all caught up and off to do finish up stories and then go play some games off line if I have the time.

Hope you all are having a wonderful Sunday,

Sue

Happy Sunday All!
Well yesterday was a great active day for me. I walked for and hour and ten minutes. right foot started complaining and 55 minutes in, but I had to get home so I just slowed down. I got a bike computer through air miles in the winter and I have been using it for walking and biking. It gives me time and speed when I am walking/biking. For walking I kept speed up and it helped to have the computer in hand. I also went for a nice long bike ride in the afternoon with DH. It was another hour I think. We had a lovely supper of salmon and fiddle heads. I tried fresh herbs on it that I started this year. I clipped lime basil, parsley and cilantro and put on it. It was good. I did a bit of gardening too.

Great job with the weight lifting Becky!! I am not quite there yet but I have been active everyday for one week!! Enjoy the barre class.

Hi Sue. Glad you are doing well. Sorry about the AC but the warm temps sound good to me. I do like the nights cool though.

Have a great day all!

Hi All, I just returned from walk. 42 minutes a little slower pace (3.5mph) due to the fact that I am already sore. :D I walked in the woods today to take the pounding off flexors. :thumb:

Morning ladies,

On tap for today.....Morning workout Winsor Pilates 20 Minute workout and evening workout WHW Lift More, Lose More 15 Minute workout (Dead lift to High Pull, Curl to lunge press, Triceps Extension and Chest Press and fly (4 sets of 10 reps);

Chris, I see you had a very active Sunday. Sorry about your right foot, glad you got back home slowing down. The bike computer through air miles sounds cool and I see it helps you out a lot too. Plus a nice bike ride too. MMM love salmon but I don't know what fiddle heads are????

I don't mind the heat Chris, Chuck does, however, plus with our AQ being in the unhealthy range that means "inside for me" with the a/c....and no windows open. Which I don't like LOL

Nope no cool nights here, still in the low 90s....luckily "no humidity here" PTL however, dew points were up a bit yesterday.

I see a nice walk for you this a.m. Chris. Plus a walk in the woods today too. Have a wonderful Victoria Day.

Image

Well I am off to put blanket in the dryer, eat, workout and then dice up peaches for our lunches this week and the list goes on....

A good day to all,

Sue
