Re: Sisters in Sweat Journal (but all are welcome)
Good Morning sisters,
Yah glad you got out for a while. I just had a thought and this is it . LOL Do they have volunteers at the place you worked ? If they do maybe they would let you come over and just kinda visit or read to the patients. Pass out magazines etc. Just a thought Friend . Something for you to do for a few hours a day .
We are expecting an ice storm today . It is on the border of Ohio and Indiana so will be here soon. So will be staying in most of the day . I think I will drag out sewing machine and do some sewing . I need to make 2 draft door stoppers . The cold air really comes in the one area . I picked up some of Walmarts Fleece Throws for 2.50 each and that is what I will use . You can either put rice or sand in them but I save some old pillows and am going to pull the stuffing out of those and use that.
I had to go up to the Hospital this am for blood work . Had appointment with new Doctor and I liked him although I prefer a woman but I couldn't get into anyone else . The Lady I wanted is not taking new patients and this doctor took 2 months to get an appointment with . So at least I have a doctor . The hospital where his office is only 10 minutes away so that is nice. All is well .
Oh you should see what friend made for me and gave to me last night . I am going to try and post a picture on here if I can . I know I can get it on facebook . It is for the Birds but so pretty I don't really want to share it with them LOL But I well I guess you would call it a bird feeder . You will see what I am talking about if I get it posted.
Well That's all for me today.
Enjoy the week end . It's not cold here so I hope they are wrong about what they say about the weather.

Re: Sisters in Sweat Journal (but all are welcome)
Hi sisters,
Well time for me to catch up....
Bama, I see your weather has been crazy too. Good for you on the workouts. I unfortunately did miss a couple but did RLW's which was why I missed the regular ones. MMMMM yummy veggie soup so good.
I hope you liked your doctor.
Yup Bama, busy cleaning and will continue into next week too.
I see your Lucy and Ethel have been busy too. So what did you decide for dinner....or should I say what did hubby decide LOL
Hi YAH love seeing you here and glad you got out and about and got to stay at son's for a couple of days. Plus I know you love his cats too. Yeah I see you had a snowstorm also. We are getting the "wet rain" stuff by the buckets.
Have to say I don't miss the NY winters and all that snow.
HUGS on the people at work and your cousin... condolences again and HUGS....
I wish you could give me some pounds too. Glad you enjoyed the pics and yes I am a fussy bucket and like things clean and organized...still working on the organized stuff.
Bama, yuck on the storm and we have a lot of drafts here too and have put a big towel rolled up along the bottom of our front door. We are thinking of getting drop clothes for the windows (sliding glass doors) sometime this year before the Fall.
I see you got your blood work done and you like you new doctor. Yeah I like primary doctor being a women but have had men too. To me as long as they are qualified I am a happy camper and luckily for me all of mine are. That is nice that it's close. Glad all is well.
Can't wait to see the bird feeder. Hope you can get it posted.
Well I am off to get stories and do a quick mail check, before I am off to breakfast, workout, a grocery list for Wednesday and the list goes on.
Have a great day,
Sue

Re: Sisters in Sweat Journal (but all are welcome)
Happy Tuesday All,
What have I been up to? Exercise wise on Saturday DH and I went to the woods for a nice walk, roughly an hour I think. On Sunday I kicked the kids outside and off their screens (mean ole mommy!
) and took them sliding. We had a good time it is a nice long hill and not too steep. We are coming off of 3 warm days where things had thawed and melted then back to the deep freeze. So good fast sliding. We were out for an hour enjoying our winter.
Mo I hope you had a good anniversary!
Bama that is a great idea. YAH there is no reason that you couldn't go to visit your residents now and then. I am sure they miss you as well.
It is nice that you got to stay at your sons for a couple of days YAH. I am sure that was a good change of scenery for you. Yes YAH we have lots of snow. I am more north than all of you.
Well I must be going for now. TTFN!

Afternoon ladies,
I am listening to one of favorite guys, Bobby Sherman and singing "Little Woman" along with him...such a nice catchy beat....
Just finished up lunch...yeah late but it was later today when we got our patooties out of bed.
Chris, I see you have been getting in some very awesome workouts with walks and sliding and up and down some steep hills too.
You bring back memories of own childhood, with us building hills, snowmen, caves to hide in etc.
I see a great walk this a.m. too, Chris....kudos.
Well I am off to get more maintenance work done.
Take care all and hope you are having a good day.
Sue

Afternoon,
Chris, kudos to you today. Got a bunch done ourselves with being in the stores for a good 90 minutes and then putting it all away.
Hope you all had a good day, it's raining steadily now...sprinkled a bit this a.m., but big rain is now and overnight and through the remainder of this week. Now if this state only had over 30 years ago set up storage systems for water....
A good night to all,
Sue

Re: Sisters in Sweat Journal (but all are welcome)
Hi, Sisters,
We are getting a lot of rain here today, too, Sue. We need it, although maybe not as badly as CA.
Great job with your workouts, Sue and Chris! Thank you both for the anniversary wishes. We had a nice day--took Money for a nice long walk and then went out for Chinese (DH's favorite), which was actually very good.
Looks like Bama and YAH and Becky have been MIA with me. I've had a lot going on, and after thinking in Dec. that the thyroid medication was preventing migraines, I've had 4 days already in Jan. that I've been in bed with a headache that the migraine med didn't help. I don't know what's going on with that. And I started back with the sensory panel, but I'm thinking of dropping out. The hourly rate is nice, but the last few ingredient lists have included parabens, which I do best to avoid when I'm buying personal products, so I'm not very comfortable with that. And I was offered a spot coaching the running club at the Y beginning in March, which I'm considering. So given that I'm supposed to also be prepping the house for sale, and there are only so many hours in a day. . . .
I went to the dermatologist for a mole check today; I was overdue by about 2 years, but luckily nothing needed to be removed or worried about.
She gave me a sample of a cream for rosacea so I need to look that up and see if I want to use it to take some of the red out of cheeks. If there are a lot of side effects, I'll just stick with using a little make-up to tone it down.
I've started on the basement (again!) and piled the porch with donations for the VVA on Wed., so I'm making progress.
Hope your blood work went well, and you didn't suffer from the ice storm, Bama. Glad you like your new doctor.
Yay on getting some time with your son, YAH. I hope you are finding some things to do that you enjoy.
Hi, Becky--hope all is well with you, and you are all adjusted to your new medication.

Re: Sisters in Sweat Journal (but all are welcome)
Afternoon ladies,
I see you are getting a lot of rain also, Molasses. Yeah we don't have enough reservoirs though to contain the water we are getting. These "ding batty bats" have been talking about water storage since we moved out here and our first apartment was across from the Sacramento River and it thought it would go over and so the apartment complex evacuated all those on the 2nd and 1st floors....we were on the 3rd floor.
I see you had a very nice anniversary, I am glad. I love Chinese too. friend Wendy and I used to go once a week for Chinese or Tai foods......we loved them. Chuck is NOT a fan LOL
Sorry about the migraines. Don't blame you on the sensory panel and the coaching and running club at the Y sounds great. Wow I didn't realize you wanted to sell so soon. For some reason thought it was a bit away.
Good luck with all the things you need to juggle....like me I think we need to figure out how to clone ourselves so that we have 3 or 4 of us LOL
Glad the dermatologist went well I have to go this year too. Aha thanks for that Molasses, Rosacea (I bet that is what I have on face) let me know on the side effects if you can Molasses. I am going to take a picture of it and show it to her and see what she says as some days it doesn't happen and others it's very very red and blotchy.
Good luck with the basement and donations.
Well I am off to the afternoon meds, breathing, etc..
Have a nice Friday night and weekend,
Sue

Re: Sisters in Sweat Journal (but all are welcome)
Hi, thought I'd at least hop in and wish all a great night and weekend etc.
I'm still around. Have nice days and not so nice days. We have rain now also so lots of icy walking out there since we do have snow too:( So I've been IN all week again:( I don't have the funds to go to volunteer for a few hrs. as I don't live close to town so thats out. Which is why the job was so great as it was more hrs. in the days I worked and not many days but sure nice checks anyway. I always have stuff to do here but don't care to:) And no money for redoing our humble home so it stays like this:( Have only dreams of what I'd like to do about things etc. I guess. More bad news too as other cousin, as 4 of us were in same grade, well her Dh died of cancer:( He only found out 2 months ago about it and was wondering if he should do chemo or? So One cousin died, and the other 2 lost their Dh's. I'd say 60's is pretty young for that but then again, I'm in it so want to think of maybe 80's as older:)
I hoped that you enjoyed your anniversary Mo!! And I see you did although I don't eat Chinese or anything different:) Just plain Jane here:) And Money is doing good too:) Great on the maybe coaching the running team also! I'm sure you'd be good at it. Sorry on the headaches though:( Good luck on the prepping your house for sale also. I wish I could do that:)
Son in GB didn't come up since its so rainy here also and they are getting some but not this much. He's suppose to come next weekend for ski race but depends on weather and if the snow will be nice after this rain. Other son is off for the weekend here. And found out married son is down Chicago with 2 other guys visiting their friend who is undergoing chemo and all for his 3 tumors by brain:( He had one surgically removed but these are too close to brain. So they took him out to a Chicago Bulls BB game tonight:) So he'll have a long drive back tomorrow. Very foggy all over now even in daytime with this kind of weather.
Bama, Becky, Chris and Sue etc., have a very good night and I see a few of you are sticking to good exercise and all:) Sorry about your sore back and the itchiness also Sue and hoping you get good sleeps at least:) Got to go and finish up in the kitchen I guess. take care if any ice around or watch the puddles:)
