Yes, you're in a state of Metabolic flux, which means you're clearly changing metabollically if you feel hungrier sooner.

This may be something to do with slightly low portions, or not enough of one Macronutrient.

If cals are a bit low, bump them up by about 300 a day.

2 ways to do this.

1. 5g Protein, 5g Carbs, 1g Fat approx, (49 calories), extra per meal.

2. 5g Carbs, 3-4g Fats, (47-56 calories), extra per meal.

This is based on 6 meals a day. You're eating about 6 meals a day and two shakes.

If calories seem fine, no need to increase.

However I can see a few things to change right away.

1. You're eating Mushroom, Eggs and Sausage for Breakfast, then in another meal Celery sticks and Peanut butter. That snack is a bit small, and you might be overdoing it on protein anyway the first meal. Mushrooms are roughly 50/50 Protein, Carbs, so you need to factor things like that in.

I'd be inclined to have the Celery and Sausages as a snack, with the Peanut Butter retained, if that is feasible. That snack is probably too low calorie anyway. This will serve as a better use of some calories, putting them somewhere where you're low and taking from somewhere where you might be a bit high, then you might also stabilise your metabolism a bit more, by levelling out calories in every meal a bit more.

2. Switch Cheedar Cheese for Low Fat Cheese. More good Fat, more Protein rich. Might keep you fuller.

3. May not be enough Carbs in the Dinner. I'm certain Shrimp isn't good for Carbs if any, so barring the Beans you might be a bit low on Carbs, which are Amino Acid carriers, so don't be tempted to bump up Bean amount, have something else like Onions, or a couple of Large Grilled Tomatos, Boiled, Mashed Carrott etc etc, so you get around another 10-20g of Low GI Carbs and see how that works out.

4. Your Post-workout shake and Breakfast are too close together. So you're getting quite a lot of Protein in a 1hr 15 minute space. Have Breakfast around 8:00 if possible, because then you're second solid meal is 2.5 hours afterwards, not 3.25 hours.

This gives that shake and Breakfast 1hr 45 spaced, which is better.

Hi, everyone!! Yes, another hungry day. haha. Boss Man, thank you sooooo much for taking the time to review foods. I am just getting used to this diet so I def could use some coaching. What is metabolic flux anyway?? Is that a good thing? I hope so!! Sooo, yeah, I will ditch the sausage at bfast and have it in another snack meal as you suggested. I was under the impression that bfast was supposed to be the biggest meal of the day. Also, on work days I have to leave the house for work at 8:00 a.m. so that is why I eat bfast at 7:30. Not much I can do about that. I cannot eat bfast at work soooo I will have to get by on that sched on work days.Is only about 2 days a week at this time. Not sure if cals are too low. I am so not up to counting cals and macros. Math sucks! :( I am loosely trying to follow Swanso's 28 day carb plan. Just kinda learning and getting the hang of things seeing how body reacts. Tonite I went to a birthday party and passed up ultimate weakness...birthday cake!!! mouth actually watered at the sight of it and no matter how many people told me to eat it I didn't. Yayy, me!

8:00 a.m.-wake-protein shake with water

9:00 a.m.-4 egg omelette with mushroom & onion
strawberries

10:45 a.m.- handful of peanuts

11:00 a.m.- 50 mins elliptical-I set out to do 75 mins but body said noooo, so I listened and stopped at 50 mins.

12:15 p.m.- banana-when I got home I was really shakey and body was screaming for carbs or sugar so I thought this was the best thing.

2:00 p.m.-grilled salmon & brussels sprouts

Took a little nap here..ahhhhh, sooo nice!

4:30 p.m.- celery sticks with nat pb-gonna switch this up, Boss.

6:45 p.m.-dinner- ok, this is a weird combo cause I was at a party and had to chose from what they had healthy available. Most of the food was pasta-oriented such as baked ziti and stuff. So this is what I scavenged there.
a whole bunch of shrimp!
a piece of ham
some sweet red peppers
1 small piece of mozzarella cheese (prob not low fat).

Nokie, I will start boiling up some eggs! Yes, I am working out a lot but is worth it! :D Today was an easy day. I rested because I was really tired but after nap I felt great!!! That is good because tomorrow morning is weights and intervals. Fun funnnn!

Way to go, that takes a lot of willpower, especially when you have people practically trying to shove it down your throat :)

You must be one of the few people that treats Brussells Sprouts, as an any occasion type of food, instead of a festive one.

Having said that, you're probably one the minor majority that actually likes them :P.

WOW, u guys, where is the time going??? I can't believe it's been sooo long since I have updated. It's not because I fell off the wagon or anything. Actually I have been doing pretty well with the diet for the most part. Is hard sometimes but I just keep goals in mind. Soooo, now I am doing split cardio. One session in morning and one at night. It seems to be working because I am down a few pounds to 109! :D is looking a bit smaller but I think I am still losing from other places. I am being patient as I know the pooch is the very last thing to leave. A sad fact of life! :( Anyway, I will keep on keepin on with journey. Life has been crazy with kids, work and workouts so apologies for not checkin in. I am hoping to take some more progress pics at the end of the month. Maybe a couple of more pounds down. Wow, Cassie's new pics are awesome!! What an inspiration she is!!! I shoulda started this program one kid and 20 years ago!!! 45th is approaching fast next month so I am really putting this in high gear. I can't wait to go clothes shopping as all of clothes from last year are too big! Hey...I did get a compliment, tho. I was out with teenage daughter and she ran into a friend. He asked her who she was with and she replied " mom over there". He then said "wow, your mom is hott!!" Ok, I secretly enjoyed the compliment as daughter rolled eyes. I guess all of this is paying off on the inside and outside! LOVE IT!!!! Welcome Spring!

Oh, Boss, yes I feel like the ONLY person in the world who loves brussels sprouts!! I eat them all the time. When I put them into cart at the supermarket I feel like people are like....ummmm, ok. She likes brussels sprouts. WEIRD!!!! Lol

Seems like no matter what the age, we all like to be noticed as attractive, or HOT is even better.

hehe....thanks a million....I wasn't fishing for that, but sure do appreciate it.

Pretty cool when one of your daughters friends says it, like a whole generation difference and you've still got it. She must have been ruffled?

What are you apologising for? For having a life? If so I'm not accepting any apologies off you, so you can keep them. you shouldn't be giving them to us anyway, because you haven't and will probably never do anything worng where we're concerned :).

Whatever happens in your life, we will still be here for you and we will still be proud of you no matter what, because of everything you have done and everything you have contributed to the community.

One thing I would heed caution over though is the weight loss. 109 may be starting to venture into the slightly low bracket. Certainly I would advise at not going below 105, because it may then stray into the territory of slightly risky.

Not sure what levels you're muscle compsition is at right now, but if you were able to lose the other 4lbs, and then build yourself back up to at least 110, if not 115, you'd be better in the long-term, from increase muscle and connective tissue strength and increased Bone density, so you're in the position of training solidly enough to stop it going so quickly when you're over 50.

You'll be better off touchwood in around 25-30+ years from now :).

Whatever happens though, no apologies okay, because we do understand you have a personal life and it's perfectly okay. You continue to be a wonderful part of the community and we do appreciate you for it :).

Ok, Boss, no more apologies for absences!!! Thank you so much for your concern and kind words! Even if I do not have time to post I am reading the new threads and taking in the words of wisdom from the fitness gurus here. I love and depend on this site greatly!! Sooo, yeah, I realize i am probrably sacrificing some muscle in the name of fat-loss here. Just how much we will see. I am not sure what muscle comp is at this time but I will be on the body comp scale next week. Then I will have a better idea of how things are progressing. Last time was down and muscle up some so I hope the trend is continuing. It is encouraging to see the number on the scale but I am more concerned with %. I need to switch the and muscle numbers around! It seems like still a long road ahead and I hope it can be done on an old gal like me!!! I would love to be 110 lbs of pure lean muscle!

Soooo, I rarely eat carbs at nite but I was hungry so I had a bowl of oatmeal and some peanuts at 9:30 p.m. tonite. I hope that wasn't a terrible choice. It's just that I have a training session at 5 a.m. tomorrow morn and didn't want to be running on empty. trainer has been hitting me up with some tough workouts followed by grueling intervals!!! I need fuel. Any suggestions?? Well, gotta get to bed so I am not cranky for trainer. He hates cranky!!! nite-nite.

I'm not far behind you age-wize, and I totally don't feel like I thought I would. I thought people were ancient at 40....ish. I feel like I'm mid-late 20's at best....... 8).....and I def think you certainly CAN do it....just look at how far you've come after having babies, and keeping a family going, plus getting so fit. I loved it when I read the....110 lbs. of pure muscle.....sounded tuff.....
