The ULTIMATE fat loss program?

Post by ericstretch »

Hello everybody,

So I've been doing Mike Chang's six pack shortcuts routine for a couple of weeks now in an effort to lose some weight, I don't mind it and I think it would be fine for weight loss, amongst other things, but it kind of got me thinking about and researching what would be the absolutely ultimate fat burning workout program. I know from reading posts on this forum in the past that there is a crazy amount of knowledge here amongst all he members and so I guess I just wanted to poll everybody to find out if there is a program in existence that everyone can agree to being the most efficient at burning fat. As far as personal details I am , 28, 6' 1" and about 270 lbs, I'm naturally a very muscular guy but unfortunately now, have added quite a bit of fat to that muscle as well. As for diet I've been following the slow carb diet for about 3 weeks now and am actually enjoying it (as much as you can enjoy a diet that is... :D). I'm getting married in June and so I would love to lose around 40 lbs before then and this is the main reason that I don't want to waste time following a program that might not be as perfect or efficient as it could be. So any advice or general direction pointing would be hugely appreciated!!! Thanks a ton!!!

If you're quite muscular, then take around 10g Carbs out of each meal and replace it with fat. The body will source some added fat to compensate for the lost Carb energy, but shouldn't affect muscle mass, as this would be maintenance calories re-jigged slightly.

That might be one way of helping yourself :).

The BEST all-around weight loss program are body contact sports like any kind of grappling, e.g. ju-jitsu, judo, mma, wrestling, etc. This burns a helluva lot of calories. If that's not possible, a program that involves whole body exercises like CrossFit is the next best thing. If that's not possible, stay with whole body, functional exercises with free weights, e.g. deadlifts, squats, bench, chin ups, rowing, cleans, etc. The last resort is machine exercises. You just don't want to be relying on cardio to burn the calories.
