If you work your chest hard on Monday and slight soreness is still present on Thursday, is it ok to work that muscle again.
Will this prevent proper growth?
Or, do you need to wait until All Soreness is gone before working that muscle again?
I know this is a difficult question to answer for someone but I currently do a 5 day routine working each muscle once per week pretty intense.
I do chest on Monday, still usually a little sore on Thursday but I'm fully recovered by Friday..the day I do Bi/tri... Would it be a good idea to add add chest to Friday arms workout since it's fully recovered..
I don't hit arms that hard on friday due to bi/tri getting lots of stimulation from chest and back and shoulders earlier in the week... Usally 2-3 sets of biceps and 2-3 sets of triceps.
Thanks

If you're training your Chest so hard you get killer DOMS, then don't train it again that week.
If you're doing in the region of 5-6 set, you probably won't get much DOMS if at all, and maybe just a touch of stiffness, inside of 24-36 hours, but that means you can do it again, without real fear of overtraining.
I train Chest twice a week, and don't go beyond 6 sets a time. Most regular guys who train hard, go for about 10-12 sets a session, on a once a week strategy.

i'm a frequency man so go for the 2nd session but make it a little less hard than the 1st session...so if doing 10 - 12 sets on mon try 6 - 8 on thursday...this will train the neural pathways of the bench press training the nervous system which is what gets you strong leading to bigger mass gains (not muscles), but sparing the muscle damage...keep wt up but reps low if you can
