I've used the Fit Tracker here. It can be very useful, just takes time to enter your foods (if they are not already listed). But as Allison says, after a while you kind of have an idea of what you are eating, because you get into a routine of eating the same foods - so you know the calories. Whatever works best for you, and what you will stick with. :D It takes commitment, it doesn't just happen, you have to take the good weeks with the bad weeks, you won't lose a lot of weight every week. Some weeks you won't see any loss, or maybe might see a gain, but you have to just accept it, realize it is just part of the overall big picture, don't let it derail you, or depress you. You can do it.

If you're not sure about the FitTracker, check out something called Diets in Details on the web. Very good.

Yes it does get harder the older you get in many circumstances, but it's not impossible and yes you should stop listening to people, that tell you x amount lost isn't much, because that's not productive to listen ot people who thne affect how you feel.

You're worth more than that and you know it :).

You just need to keep believing in yourself, becasue if you don't, it will be harder for those that might, to want to start and / or keep doing it.

I think a lot of people have low self esteem, myself included! problem is I"m ultra sensitive to comments people make. So I know how you feel!
Well i think i am like that too! I tend to take stuff people say too seriously! and its suck because it make you feel yacky! I guess i have to lear that no matter what people say they can make your own opinion... its would be not fun if every one would think all the same! I have to learn to brush it off if its something negatif! :)

Well i might at first just write it down somewhere and keep track of calories...but i kind of know what problem is... its just i get depress not too see any change in a week and i know its always harder in the first few week as your body adjust... i keep telling myself that it took a long time for body to gain that weight so it will take a long to loose it..

Hey Boss... thank for the link i will search to see if i can find it...i don't want to make your repeat yourself but remember you told me to eat no lower calories then 1,800 (is this if i don't exercice or do i need to eat more if i do exercise like biking and streight training)

On of the worst i find if its i make a recipes with a bunch of stuff.... its kind of very difficult to count the calories if its home made (well i find) maybe other people would find this easy but not me so that want making me go off track too... maybe i should just be a bit more patience...i think i want to see result too quick!!!

Yes, when you exercise don't eat lower then 1,800 calories a day, as that's what an adult female should try to get, when they don't exercise, so you'd need a few hundred more to give you extra calories to burn.

Oh yes ok, you told me this before sorry.... should i add extra calorie even if i just bike for 30 min at first or only if i do a longer work out like heavy cardio or weight lifting? So this would put calories in about 2,000 cal a day about?

I don't use the tracker much, but it can be very helpful to use because the more precise you are with measuring the calories that go in and out of your body, the faster you will see results.

When you fill out your nutrition and exercise for the day the tracker shows you how many calories you ate and how many calories you burned. The tracker also shows how many calories you burn every day without your workout (that's your Basal Metabolic Rate, or BMR). The calories you burned by exercising and your BMR are subtracted from the calories you ate, and the result will be a deficit (the subtraction sign, which shows more calories burned than eaten) or a surplus (the plus sign, which shows more calories eaten than burned). The goal is to be in a calorie deficit every day. A starting point some people use is a 500 calorie deficit (-500) every day to lose 1 pound per week. Ne comprenez-vous?

Ha ok yes i understand! So last month i lost 2 or 3 lbs sometime its hard to see on the scale... when i told daughter she is 24 she said oh boy that only 2 to 3 lbs mom that nothing....you need to put more effort and go to the gym and stuff... (and like i said before i get depress when people say stuff like that i have to work on that and brush it off) so i gain those 3 lbs back because i kind of stop everything i did unstead saying well 2 to 3 lbs lost if better then 2 to 3 lbs gain... so 1 lbs a week is still good!!!

Yes, do do that and no need to apologise, it's perfectly okay :).

1 lbs a week is a great achievement. Aim for that and I am sure some months will be better and some will be worse, but it's a reasonable goal and something to very proud of. Your 24 year old daughter can not compare something she would do to something her mother would do! Totally different scenarios. mother is 52 and she can't lose weight like I can, but her muscles are more mature and she gets stronger and harder a lot faster than I do; if she stops working out her results stick around a lot longer than mine do, too. There are two sides to everything with this age thing.

Yeah I've often told son who is 21 " If I was you I'd eat everything ! " However knowing the effects of sugar & bad fats on the body at all ages, its better to eat healthy, even at his age.I think its hard to lose at any age, without starving yourself, which is what diet meant to me in twenties. The metabolism slows by 5 % per decade once you are 25, unless you eat properly & exercise, muscle is lost also bone density lessens. The sooner you start to allow the body to perform its miracle of rebirth of its tissue, blood etc by supplying it with nutrition & movement, the healthier the future will be for you and your daughter.
