Is there an alternative workout that will give me the same results as if I were to use a dip station?
I don't have a dip station yet (will hopefully be getting one for christmas), and some of the workouts I've been doing lately call for doing either dips/seated pull-ups/reserve push-ups. I can do the dips using two of our kitchen chairs, but they are too low for me to do the seated pull-ups and reverse push-ups. I thought maybe if I did chair dips it would give me the same result, but I wasn't sure.
I'm trying to find an alternative to what this woman is doing in this video with her dip station:

What I have been doing is this:

I know they're not the same, but I was wondering if they would give me the same result?

I saw the chair/broom homemade dip station thingy, unforunately our chairs are too low to do that.
Our broom basically sat on the seat of the chairs.
I'll just do the rows, for now, until I can actually get a dip station.
Thanks lesplease.

what about the perfect pullup? I have one sitting in a box ready to put up but havn't had the time yet. It goes down low for inverted rows. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Perfect-Pullup/11064295" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

This seems like an economical option:

I guess you could mount is low and use it as a dipping station. Make sure you use long lag bolts and you go into the studs (14" center to center).

I've been doing this since I read your post...we have an Iron Gym. First few times I used it, I was so scared the thing was going to come crashing down on me! LoL
Very comfortable with it now...the doorframes in our apartment are another story. LOL
