In modern society we tend to make a bunch of mistakes with what we eat. This comes from a simple lack of knowledge of what is in our foods and their nutritional value. For example it is now almost impossible to get all the essential nutrients that your body requires from even a well-balanced diet, without using supplements.
Why is this?
Obviously the main problem is food processing. Foods are processed to lengthen life, better taste and make a food product look more appealing. This however as a large impact on the nutritional value of the food.
Then there is even a problem with fresh produce. Long storage times and poor soil nutrient quality all have an impact on the nutrients in the fruit and vegetables we eat.
