Progress

Good Morning All!!!!!

I know it is too early to be excited about losing some weight but I have to tell you I am down a little over 2 pounds....... :D and I am feeling great about the acomplishment!

I think what finally did it was me and husband had a huge fight and he basicly told me that i could not do it and i was not commited. urg!!!!!!!! Talk about someone being MAD! I was fuming... but I actually think it was the kick in the butt to get me motivated and the push i needed to get it in gear....

I have never been really skinny... but i have never been more than 10 pounds over weight either... so i have a long way to go. I am wanting to take off. 45 to 50 pounds. 1st goal is to be 174... i will be getting a ring at this point. then next goal will be 164.... have not really decided on what prize will be yet. i am thinking a hair cut and maybe a new perm... i so need it now but want to have something to work towards...

husband is leaving the weekend of July 4th to go 4wheeling in TN and he wants to lose a few pounds before then so he can fit in his riding gear.... (right now it is all too tight) I want to show him up and try to take off more of the weight than he does.... he started yesterday. he skiped breakfast, (bad choice) not sure what he had for lunch. and for dinner he had a piece of fish and some butterbeans. he went to the gym and worked out for over an hour and came home and had a protien shake... Hmmm but then he turned around about 9pm and had salsa and chips for a snack....

i on the other hand had 2 slices bacon and 1/2 cup eggs, banana for snack, 2 chicken wraps (still could make better choices) and i worked out on the treadmill for 43 mins and had a protien shake made with 2% milk.... no other snacks... so calorie wise i think i did ok.... oh and when i made the spagettie for little ones i had 2 bites.... (it is so hard to things that you like and not eat it) I am feeling really positive on how i did yesterday and am hoping that i can do the same today...

Wish me luck......

Its never to early to be excited for progress! In fact, feel free to dance around as a result of that 2 lb weight loss! These small successes are what lead us to achieving our ulimate goal. Celebrate every single pound that you lose and you will be more motivated to continue losing! Never discount your success! You've worked hard and you should be proud of yourself!

As for your meals... I think the reason why you ended up having such a large lunch was because you didn't eat enough for breakfast. Maybe next time you could do something like:
Meal 1: 2 slices low fat turkey bacon, 1/2 cup eggs, 1/2 cup oats
Meal 2: 1 banana, 11 almonds, 3-4 oz lean protein
Meal 3: 1 chicken wrap and large side salad
Meal 4: (post workout) protein shake with fat free milk
Meal 5: large grilled chicken salad with lots of veggies... use salsa instead of dressing and add nuts or avocado for healthy fat

Good luck and we're here for ya!

1. Be happy about wanting and committing to change.

2. Be happy you got some change.

Small positives make bigger positives. Without Acorns, you can't have Oak trees, assuming I've remembered that bit of plant biology correctly

Reward systems are good. So why not try this.

Take a supermarket receipt if you've got any left. Tot up the cost of all the good stuff and then a seperate calculation for the bad stuff. The bad stuff amount makes up your weekly save.

Use money for food not Cards, then whatever you'd spent on good food, give yourself around $10-$15 on top, because some stuff will go up a little, some down, if the supermarket runs loss leader deals for 2-4 weeks on selected items.

You'll find it hard to buy something like Chocolate or Ice cream as examples, if you get to the checkout and you have too much shopping you can't afford and it's a choice between Ice Cream and Broccolli for example.

The money amount you'd spent on bad food, that previous time, can then but put in a jar for later, then once every month or two, use it for things like new pair of trousers or a new CD, or whatever you like.

This might help you to be more on top of the buying habits, to help curb your consumption of things you see as problem foods.

Good luck and keep enjoying the little positives. remember it's not about weight loss, it's also about Cholesterol, Blood pressure, Musculoskeletal health, etc. You might have already made a small impact on your body, in ways you can't see, so the bigger picture looks potentially much better when you take it all into account :).
