fat issue or skin and muscle issue? (pics included)

Post by nickorette »

I have been loosing weight for a while, I was 215 in september, and now I'm 155 (march 26th). At one point the year before I was in the 230's-240's.

Anyhow I'm getting down to where target is, but I still have a noticable gut. I work out 3h a week (mostly weights, working upper body), and I'm still loosing weight. I'm 19 yo and 6'. I would have thought that it might have just been fat before, but at 155 I'm beginning to get noticiable ribs as well, which kinds of concerns me, and makes me wonder if stomach is just excess skin and a lack of muscle rather than a sack of fat.

So, at what weight should I stop loosing? Do you think the gut is just excess skin or an I just being paranoid?

your gut's hanging out because your transverse abdominis muscle is none existant which if activated, will hold your stomach in/tight...search stomach vaccum and do as prescribed and problem solved

you probably not putting enough muscles... check your diet that it is balanced and that you are getting enough proteins, carbs and fats. i think you better off stop loosing weight start eating better and work out more or harder you core muscles and abs.

Thanks for you responses.

Yeah I've never done any ab workout before, so I just started doing stomach vacumes (3X/wk) and reach and catch sit ups for now (1-2X/wk). (I'll move to weighted reach and catch sit ups when I can do more than 15).

Although, I have been doing alot of shoulder and arm work, (and I have been getting stronger) and I do some hardcore stair climbing every day.

I also purchased some protien supplements, and have been taking that with skim milk to boost the protien and also get some much needed calcium into me. Before, I knew I was low on protien, I was always craving meats, and when I estimated how much I actually was getting, it was about half or less of what I should be intaking.
