Yeah, if you can… try to limit your carb intake and only have it in the morning and you post workout. The rest try to add more lean protein and good fats.
Example going by your list of meals you have… (Depend on what time you workout)
It’s if like 5AM in the morning then have something light and after your workout have you real meal.
Pre workout: fruit
Workout
Post workout: Protein shakes & your meal.
Breakfast: Egg white omelets with wheat toast or oatmeal and egg whites
(But if you workout at 9AM and have time to have a decent meal and it doesn’t give you cramps.. then go with your regular routine.)
Snack: Fruit and nuts or low fat cheese and mix nuts
Lunch: Lean meat and veggies with some good fats maybe avocados? Or grilled chicken breast salad (olive oil and vinaigrette dressing) or Grilled fish with veggies
Snack: Cottage cheese with slice of turkey deli or 3-4 hard boiled eggs (1 whole 3 whites)
Dinner: Chicken lettuce wraps or grilled fish with veggies
Workout
Snack: Protein shake (if still hungry…. Have some protein like slices of deli meat or hard boiled eggs if you didn’t eat it earlier or egg white omelets) The goal is try NOT to eat sooo much carbs at night and try to keep the in the morning.
Try to limit you carbs for 2 days and have one regular day of carbs then do it for another 2 days and go back to regular carbs… see how that works for you.

I realized… you workout 2 times a day?? What time do you usually eat and workout?
I hope that helps? That’s just an idea…. Others might want to add things to it.

As promised, I posted the pictures on profile . Please be as nice as you can :( . It has taken me a lot of courage, time (didn't know how to upload) & strenght to post these pictures. Besides hubby, nobody has seen . I had a few more pictures (with the uggly upclose & personal ) but I just couldn't do it. Is going to take me a little longer...please forgive me. Don't be so brutal, but i'll appreciate your honest criticism. Please tell me...do you see any improvement possible by December? What do I really need (besides a tummy tuck) to transform big embarrassing pouch into a gorgeous flat  ? Willing to try new foods & tougher exercises.
Ok, Today (TGIF!!) I woke up this morning feeling a little down. Maybe it was the weather (rainy) or the fact that I saw in the mirror...discouraging. Oh well, time to move on (i thought) and went ahead to prepare breakfast. kids wanted me to do a strawberry shake (our favorite) & I did. After breakfast, I started working out, but felt very nauseos (can't eat anything before working out) and had to stop. schedule went like this:
Breakfast: Strawberry shake & tuna fish sandwich & 1 cup of water
Snack: 1/2 banana & 2 teaspoon of peanutbutter w/ 1 cup of water
Lunch: Grilled hamburger w/ lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, onion & l. ketchup. Reg. bread (didn't have wheat) & 1 cup of water
Snack: 10 grapes W/ cottage cheese (it tasted different) & 1 cup of water
Dinner: 3 oz of salmon, salad (lettuce, tomatoes & avocado), 1/2 cup of brown rice & 2/3 cup of pinto beans & 1 bottle of water
Workout: Started a new video "Jackie's 1 on 1 core" (OMG!- HARD TO DO), upper body w/ weights :D & ran 12 min.
Snack: strawberry shake w/ whey protein
This workout was harder than what I've done before & FELT THE BURN!!! Tomorrow: food shopping & plan new menu & workout program. ALL SUGGESTIONS & CRITICISM IS WELCOME!!!!

Well, first let me say, you have absolutely nothing to be embarrassed about. Your pics do not look terrible!! Alot of us women have what you call "your little pooch". Especially those of us who gained weight with each baby, then lost it quickly. I still have "baby " and it's been over 10 years since son was born!! :D
I'm proud of you for overcoming your fear of posting a pic of your tummy. And you have already begun taking the proper and healthy steps to getting the body you want. You have a natural curvy shape already that is very feminine and attractive and I can see some ab tone on your tummy already! So you are doing great! Keep it up! Focus on the positives and be proud of all the changes you have made, and keep that enthusiam up, girl (no negative thoughts about urself allowed!!)

Strawberry shake and tuna? That might be part of the cause of your nausea! How long are you waiting to workout after eating? I would wait at the minimum 30 minutes, but more like 45 minutes to an hour.

I'm going to say something now, which is there is absolutely nothing to forgive whatsoever and as previously implied, no need to be embarrassed at all.

For all you have experienced and overcome, embarrassment and forgiveness, are two things you have no need for in the slightest. You really are one of these incredibly feelgood people, that has a lot positive history, to counteract the negative, and who couldn't help but be touched and inspired by someone like you?

You can certainly improve by December. You've got about 6-7 weeks, so yes, the process is already in place, you're not starting from scratch, so there is certainly time to make something happen, if you just keep sticking to the task in hand, and don't deviate badly off the prescribed plans / regimen.

You also don't look bad at all. There is nothing about you that time, patience and some self belief can't change.

So keep smiling, chin up, be strong, and no worries okay. We ARE here for you, and we will be here for you, to try and help you keep moving forwards, in all the right directions.

So good luck to you and I'll say this politely. Don't apologise to us, or ask forgiveness for anything. We DO understand, we DO care, and we WON'T judge you for anything you say or do, because you're one of us now, and we DO look out for our own.

You do matter to us, and we know it's not always easy, that's why we'll let you ask or do or say, whatever you feel is best, to help us help you, and support you like you need and deserve.

Thank you however for your continued input, warmth, kindness and consideration to others and this community.

You really, really are doing GREAT and you can feel very proud of yourself, if you keep up the hard work and dedication, in time, you are going to be one of many vibrant, youthful and energetic 40 somethings we have here.

You are already a fantastic rolemodel. Be happy, and most of all be YOU!!!!!!!!!!! It seems to be the best and brightest thing about you.

:) :).

Boss Man & everyone who writes comments or read them...When I had AHA! moment on 9/9/09, it was due to a visit to friend's house. Remember? she had the "body makeover". Well, eventhough I had made decision to change to a healthier lifestyle, I didn't know where or how to start. I started to read magazine's (Prevention) & search for fitness anything. I think by the grace of God I found this website, cause I typed the word fitness, "fitness model" showed up, I clicked on it & the Shapefit page popped up. Amazing! I read it & got hooked! The only internet action I had was to check emails once a week. Now, I love it! I still check emails (still once a week) and write on journal (daily). I'm so happy to have found this site and so grateful to be part of such caring & supportive community that I feel like I have another family :D. Everytime I try something new, I cheat, loose weight or buy something I instanly think of telling you guys. Is that sense of love & bond you can only share with a best friend (like hubby), brothers or sisters, which I don't have. Like I said before, it gives you the strenght & confidence to strive, do better and reach your goals cause I know I can count on you. Therefore, I thank you Boss Man for your words of wisdom & everybody who writes & read journal. I do appreciate your comments, suggestions, jokes, everything... Love you guys! :D :D

Ok, today as you know is family day! And cheat day :( :D. We went to Game Stop (we like video games), food shopping & to guess where??? GNC. You read right. Remember I said I bought whey protein powder? Well, I got vanilla flavor (didn't have chocolate) and hubby didn't like it. Honestly, I didn't like it either, but when I mixed it w/ strawberry...ok. Mocha...Heavenly! But he's not into mocha & didn't like w/strawberry. So, he went to get his own . After a while, he chose cookies & cream flavor. Sounds good? Well, after we got home he asked me to lift weights w/ him . We did and when we finished he asked for the shake (now, i get it! he did it for the shake ) I did and OMG! it was DELICIOUS, YUMMY, TO DIE FOR (let me stop drooling...you get it?) He said he was going to lift weights every night . I think is for the shakes, but I like the idea anyway. Will see what happens. Meanwhile, day went like this:
Breakfast: Whole wheat wrap w/ omelette specialty inside & 1/2 d. pepsi & 1 cup of water
SHOPPING! WALKING! EATING!
Lunch: Slice of Pizza w/ 1/2 cup d. pepsi & 1 bottle of water (YUMM!)
Snack: sunflower seeds w/ peanut butter
Dinner: Grilled chicken w/ fetuccini & red peppers, zucchini, toamtoes & mushrooms & 1 bottle of water
Workout: Cassie's workout, Jackie 1 on 1 core & 6 min abs
Snack: Strawberry shake w/ cookies & cream whey protein (YUMM!)

That was all. Tomorrow will finish old plan w/ a BANG! Trying to make up for today :D.

Times fly! I wanted to write last night but was sooo busy I lost track of time. Yesterday was cleaning day for me. Wash clothes, clean bathroom, bedrooms & kitchen. Does housework ever ends? At least I think of it as extra "workout". Everytime I bend I squeeze , butt or do squats (Gotta do it every chance you get ). After cleaning, time to cook. Since everyone else was at the park playing soccer, I decided to take time and put together a healthy & YUMMY dinner. I made spaghetti & meatballs. Yes, I used the whole wheat pasta, made own "natural" sauce (tomatoes, garlic, basil, etc.) & made own turkey meatballs. I mixed in spinach, carrots, red peepers, lean ground turkey, raisins, herbs & wheat crackers (crumbs). Sprinkle of low fat mozarella (skim) cheese over the meatballs. They loved it! Honestly, it took me longer than ever, but it was worth it. I made enough to last me until today ( lunch). After dinner, we all had banana split shake! Found the receipe in one of cooking books (made it own). Question: youngest son wanted a little protein powder in his, Is it ok? I gave him a sip of mine, but I made his w/o protein. Later, we decided to play Wii, which turned out to be more of a "workout" for all of us :D. kids & I were tired but! hubby...tired & in pain afterwards . And he had the nerve to ask for another shake . His excuse: The workout was extremely hard, I need the shake to recover  . Gave him a big cold glass of water instead. He stopped complaining. We finished the game at 1:30am.
Had a lot of FUN & we laughed out heart out!
day went like this...with a BANG!
Workout: Cassie's workout, 6 min. abs
Breakfast: oatmeal w/ eggwhites & 1 cup of water
Washed clothes, cleaned bathroom & kitchen (extra squeezing & lifting )
Lunch: Scrambled eggwhites specialty w/ 1/2 large sweet potato (boiled & mashed) & side salad w/ 1/2 slice avocado & 1 bottle of water (thirsty)
Snack: 2 teaspoon of peanutbutter w/ 1 cup watermelon & 1 cup of water (thirsty still)
Cleaned bedrroms, livingroom & 2 closets (exhausting!) & prepared dinner
Dinner: spaghetti w/ meatball & side salad & bottle of water!
Snack: Banana split protein shake (skim milk, bananas & low fat chocolate syrup)
Played Wii (more like a workout with all that jumping, rowing, hulahoop & punching)
Snack: JUST WATER!!
Today Monday...pretty much the same menu, but for breakfast cream of wheat, for lunch grilled chicken sandwich & salad & dinner...spaghetti leftover w/ salad & water.
Tomorrow...NEW PLAN!! VERY EXCITED! VERY NERVOUS! But ready to see results!!! :D

Regards the protein intake for the youngest, I wouldn't exceed 0.8g per lb for now, as his Kidneys could be taking quite a hit if you give him too much, and in reality they might be tolerant enough to cope.

If you have any issues with portions just go for Palm of the hand style portions.

You have 3 ways of doing this.

1. Piece of Fish, Meat or Poultry, with a Veg.

2. Piece of Fish, Meat or Poultry, with two Veggies, like Broccoli and Carrot for example. In this case half portions of each, makes roughly a palm portion.

3. Half sized piece of Fish, Meat or Poultry, with a half portion of Veg, then supplement the additional Protein and Carbs, with things like Peas, Beans, Lentils, Rice or Mushrooms, so you'd have a Palm sized portion of one of those, and then the half palm of Flesh and half palm of Carbs.

The exception being Soy, where you'd follow option one, as Soy is rich in protein and Fats, and does have some Carb.

As I said before, I started a NEW plan. Decided to focus more on an area per day & cardio. It looks something like this:
Tuesday: Upper body strenght, abs & cardio
Wednesday: Lower body, abs & cardio
Thursday: Cardio & abs
Friday: Upper body, abs & cardio
Saturday: Lower body, abs & cardio
Sunday: OFF
Monday: something fun (kickboxing/dancing or Wii game)
Since today is Tuesday, I did the upper body workout using a video (jackie 1 on 1 upper body) w/ 5lbs weight (KILLER!) OMG, couldn't finish the video. arms were burning. Continued with the 6 minutes abs video but used a basketball instead of a medicine ball (had to use something  ) & 5lbs weights for some of the exercises. For cardio I did HIIT, but for 60 seconds intervals instead of 30 & walked 10,265 steps. I think I did pretty good to start. What do you think? meals were as follows:
Breakfast: Egg omelette special w/ whole wheat bread & 1/2 cup d. pepsi & 1 cup of water
Workout: Jackie 1 on 1 upper body strenght video & 6 mins. abs
Snack: 1/4 cup sunflower seeds & 12 grapes & low fat (skim)small string cheese w/ 1 cup of water
Lunch: 1 cup of brown rice, 3 oz grilled chicken breast w/mushrooms, tomatoes, zucchini & red peppers & 1 bottle of water
Snack: 2 teaspoon peqanutbutter & 10 grapes & 1 cup of water
Dinner: egg whites omelette sandwich w/ whole wheat bread, side saladw/ l. italian & 1 bottle of water (felt like having breakfast during dinner time )
Workout: HIIT & walked (very tired )
Snack: strawberry shake w/ protein powder
Hopefully tomorrow, will be able to finish 1/2 the upper body video & continued w/ planned workout for thursday :D. How does plan look? Any changes? Please let me know!

For snack #2… Instead of grapes… can you put in some kind of solid protein?
And if you're tired... rest up instead of doing HIIT at night... You already worked out in the morning.
You might be over training... It is VERY IMPORTANT that you let your body REST!!!! :D

Good point Nokie173. But the reason I do it is because I believe that in order for me to see results faster is to train as hard as I can. Am I wrong? I just want to do MAGIC & disappear that as quickly as possible  . Have you seen the pictures in profile?

Don't overtrain is the message. I'd bin off the Thursday, and do nothing on it.

So you're doing Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, then Friday and Saturday. So you have two rest days, but you split them properly, so you don't train 5 days straight.

Thank you guys! Appreciate every advice and I get it now  . Is just that you get caught up in getting results fast, sometimes you think that working out double time will help you. But I will take it easier, learn lesson.
Nokie173...On snack# 2 instead of grapes, what do you think about string cheese? Suggestions?
Lesplease...your right.
Ok, this morning was very tiring. Maybe because I was feeling a little under the weather & the fact that it was very cold didn't help much. I honestly felt like staying in bed all day. But duty calls...Got up, made breakfast. After getting everyone ready & out the door, I started to work out when I felt like throwing up. It wasn't breakfast. I think is the flu? Maybe. Anyways, I stopped, puked and went back to bed. I think I slept for 1 hour. I called Doctor & she suggested I stay home in bed...I did. For lunch I had Chicken soup (homemade) & 1 slice whole wheat bread & 1 cup of water.
Felt dizzy again & went back to bed. Didn't get up until 2:30. Had 10 grapes & 1 cup of water. Felt sick. Started to get dinner ready; Mashed potatoes, grilled chicken, salad & Chicken w/ rice soup. I only had the soup w/ 1 cup of water. Felt a little better and decided to post entry. After I finished, I helped youngest son study for a test and started to feel dizzy again, so I got in bed. Woke up at 7pm & had a ham & cheese toasted sandwich w/ 1/2 cup d. 7up (stomach ache) & felt a little better. Got ready to workout but hubby didn't let me, so I decided to take the day off & make it up on Sunday(planned day off). Now posting journal entry and hopefully tomorrow, will feel much better & ready to get back in track :D . By the way, for cardio (if feeling good) I made plans w/ kids to do a little competition w/ the Wii sports game. I hope to beat their little butts !
