Vamp revisited

Post by vamp »

Well, I fell off the excercise band wagon for quite a while. The slugg'n appliances job ended at the end of july, been on ei and being a stay at home dad for daughter as the wife went full time to cover a maternity leave. Sooooo, instead of getting back to excercising I caught up on sleep, then some tv programs and then some books and some of the good bake goods I haven't made in so long........

Okay, enough is enough. In January I was hovering around 230 lbs and feeling good. Now I am a hefty 263 lbs and constantly tired and feeling like crap!!! So begins the next chapter of aiming for fitness in this life. :)

I have figured out that the majority of the weight that's been added is due to overeating rather than poor food. Unfortunately, the majority of body fat is in the region --- very, very bad!

I am still free and clear of cigarettes and can't stand the smell of them at all any more :)

We're heading into winter here in ontario so i'm trying the home fitness thang as I'm caring for may daughter (except the 2.5 hours in the morning while she's at school) and gyms aren't cheap enough or close enough right now to be considered and option

cheers

Glad to see you starting this journal Vamp! "Home Fitness" is definitely doable. I do not currently have a gym membership either, and doesn't look like one is in near future, so I have done alot of research and asked alot of questions and found exercises and workouts to do at home that work for me.
One of the best things to come from having a journal is accountability. Posting daily workouts or diets keeps you on your toes, and trust me...if you miss a few days, it will be noticed and your fellow friends and journalers will call you on it!! :D :D
So, welcome back and looking forward to visiting your journal and trading ideas and helpful advice! :D

thank you all. Katie I am glad to be back :).

By the way Katie, Do you have any tasty recipies for eggplant? I've never had it and was considering trying it.

Idemetto is now "Lu" ;)

Fitoverforty and oscarmadison, thanks for the warm welcome. I was here earlier in the year and did have a journal going then as well called vamp's journal. I'm only a stranger to shapefit for the last several months so I do know way around a little, although the slight changes in the site set me back some when I returned.

Hopefully, I'll stick to it this time and won't be undermined by other life happenings, lol. Who am I kidding, life always throws curve balls.

cheers all.

If you're training at home, this might be doable. It's one of old standards, I wheel out sometimes

You'll have to be conservative on effort levels to start with, as you're probably deconditioned a bit.

3 minutes jogging on the spot.

Circuit 1.

1 x 45 seconds Squat Thrusts.

1 x 45 seconds, High Knees.

1 x 45 seconds Spotty Dogs

1 x 45 seconds Star Jumps

1 x 45 seconds Pendulum Swings.

1 x 45 seconds Burpees.

Including transitions, approximately 5 minutes for 1 circuit.

90 seconds rest

Circuit 2. Same circuit again, but 1 minute per exercise. Circuit time with transitions around 6.5 minutes.

90 seconds rest.

Repeat circuit 1.

3 minute warmdown, jogging on the spot.

Roughly 25 minutes in total.

Take the circuits at your own pace, but in future weeks, maybe after 2-3 weeks, you could increase your pace a little more, and see if you can handle it.

Only need 3 times a week on this, alternate days.

I have often wondered aout the Vamp thing. I mean it's not like he dresses up like Ru Paul at the weekends, unless he's got a secret double life we're not aware of.

That looks challenging for a workout Boss man.

Squat thrust - down into full squat then full jump up?
High knees - are you meaning running on the spot high knees or jumping up high knees?
Spotty Dogs?
star jumps - are like jumping jacks but you jump into a star formation?
Pendulum swings?
Burpees - ok know these (too well, lol)

(revamp Les? - LOL .... Saint Vamp!)

cheers

Well, this flu going around is terrible, on second week of it and still feeling aweful. Now daughter's 2 week cough has developed a fever and aches and pains. If I could stop coughing, I swear the headache would leave and the sore chest muscles.

A note to all, wash your hands alot,
avoid large crowds,
eat healthy and take your vitamins!

You do not want this!!!! Please protect yourself!!!

At the gym, wipe down all your equipment before and after and if possible try and go during the slower times to avoid the larger crowds.

cheers
