I started quest July 16 at 335 pounds. I started walking daily, 5 to 10 mins at first, now up to 30 to 40 mins daily. I am down to 304 as of Friday. It is a very tough road but I am on this ride for life this time! I been eating around 1500 to 2000 calories a day but I am having issues with dropping gut. I plan on getting up to 2 to 4 miles a day walking by Oct 1 and then I want to hit the gym in addition to walks. Firstly if anyone can look over this diet and let me know if it is ok or in need ow tweaking!
Meal 1 1 banana or 1/2 cup blueberries
36g of instant oatmeal or 3/4 cup of Life cereal
2 oz of 1% milk
1 cup decafe coffee (black)
Meal 2 1 cup 1% Cottage Cheese
1 Apple
Meal 3 85 g Tuna
1 medium tomato
Meal 4 1 cup (Low Fat) Beef Barley Soup
1 Apple
Meal 5 300 g Chicken, Fish or Meat
1 cup veggies
Large Salad (Oil & Vinegar)
1 tsp parmesan cheese on salad
I usually end here but I will reward myself 2 nights a week with:
Meal 6 1/2 cup 1% cottage cheese, 100g fat free & sugar free yogurt and 1/4 cup Kashi Granola
or
2 cups air popped popcorn
I have days I thing this is too much and others I feel is not enough. I try to space it all so I am not hungry but I do have moments. When I go into the gym on Oct 1 I will replace meal 3 with a Protien shake and a Tri-o-plex bar.

sees to look alright from here...i'd increase proitein and veggies slightly though, just a little extra of each at each meal
