splits

Post by anima »

I've heard many people say that you should split chest and shoulder work outs and it is best to separate them for 2-3 days. Is this true? Or, is it mostly personal preference? I was making a new routine and was concerned about this split.

i disagree, i dont think chest exercises effect shoulder exercises at all.. but thats just me. both use triceps i think, but not to the point to where it would greatly effect the other, by the way, tool is sweet (if thats where your username came from)

Shoulders are used for things like Bench press, but in a minor way, the main Stabilisers and Synergists, are things like Brachioradialis, Biceps, Triceps, Traps, Lats, and Rhomboids.

You should be fine to do Delt work on a Chest day, although many people like to do Delt with Back, as some Back exercises, can recruit one or two of the Delts, to assist exercises particularly the Traps.

depending on your make up and weak / strong points, dlets can be used diffrently during chest exercises but the main thing to look at is how much volume THE SHOULDER JOINT is performing and at what frequency...if your doing 4 upper workouts a week and only 1 lower body than it will be too much...most people's stability and / or mobility through the shoulder girdle is shit so 1 - 2 days of SHOULDER JOINT training is usually enough...i would probably focus on either benching or shoulder pressing heavy for a 4 week cycle than switch
