I gotta tell you all how very proud I am of Holly. She has come a very long way in a short period of time. We have been friends for about 10 years now and during the past 5 I have tried numerous times to get her to come to the gym with me. Finally, we had a breakthrough with Troy's program and she has stayed committed and endured a routine not many first timers would attempt. This proves to me how serious she is. There is no doubt in mind that she will continues this road because I have told her repeatedly how I will continue to support her endeavors and a healthy lifestyle. She has 2 children and what better gift to give your children than a healthy mom? One who has the energy to play and give healthy choices at meal times. Slow and steady wins the race around here. You didn't gain weight overnight and it's not gonna come off overnight either. It will take time. This is a lifestyle change, something your body will thank you for on the future. Hopefully it will require less trips to the doctor, a decrease in the amount of medications our " it with a pill" society has become, and a so many more benefits your body will thank you for. Everyone keep up the great work....WE ARE IN THE HOMESTRETCH NOW! And this will only lead to bigger and better changes for us all

train has run off track for a bit - didn't get to the gym today and may not make it tomorrow. Spent the night at the emergency room last night with Mom, I haven't slept yet. She went in with stomach flu type symptoms and came home with the new knowledge that she has a large mass in her lung! Needless to say focusing on "me" isn't possible at the moment. I'll need to take it day by day.

Thanks so much for your comments and thoughts! Mom is 81 years old and quality of life hasn't been the best since her stroke, so she's not interested in any medical intervention. She feels she's lived a good life and is ready to move on. Sooner rather than later is her preference. Fortunately 1/2 the time she won't remember why she should be depressed, unfortunately the other half she will probably experience extreme emotions. Funny how things work out - pending "retirement" 7/1 is perfect timing to be there for her when she needs me.

I'm off to the gym for Day 24 - on another thread there's been talk about soreness after working out and how after a certain period you shouldn't be sore anymore. I'm still sore - after 6 months! Am I the only one who is experiencing this? thinking with the increased resistance and challenges of this program we should feel it? I feel pretty comfortable that form is correct - but some have said that soreness might be from incorrect form? Increased challenges or form? What is everyone else experiencing?

Your Mom and you are definitely in prayers. Mom has had cancer twice and other health issues and I'm the only child and she's single so husband and I take care of her. She is 73 years old. I know the pain you feel when your Mother isn't feeling well--- and I will keep you both in prayers daily.

I came down with the flu Monday night so I've been in bed. I was really bummed out that I couldn't eat or work out but I got sick and obviously that was not plan but _hit happens! :(

I am feeling better today but cannot work out. I plan on going back to the Gym tomorrow and hopefully eating tomorrow. Right now it's Ginger Ale and crackers. Not part of Troy's plan but like I said it happened and there's nothing I can do about it.

Thanks Boopster for the nice post. You are one of best friends and I appreciate all the help you've give me and the support.

Take care everyone!!!

I had a Grandmother who had a stroke many years back, so I know to some extent what you're going through.

Depending on the severity, it may get easier or not. In Grandmothers case it didn't. I could say how things went towards to the end, as I don't mind talking about it, but I won't here, as I don't want to crimp peoples mood.

Thank you Allison - I was starting to think I was doing something wrong, but I know I'm pushing myself, increasing weights etc and would expect soreness. I talked to chiropractor today too and he said for sure I should be sore. Where he manipulates shoulder I'm really sore too, as he is stretching the muscle - trying to relieve the issue of adhesions from prior injury. Boy it hurts! But I truly feel it's getting better, definitely increased mobility.

I'll focus on what we are here for going forward - we all have issues that we need to deal with in life - I appreciate shapefit family and hope to share and care for a long time. Thank you all!

Tomorrow is our last weight training day! We're almost there - in the home stretch!

Hope you are feeling better Holly!

I think even after this program is over that I will maintain most of the weight training exercises - I love the pairings and feel I can now add to them - start adding pull ups, and others that I haven't been doing. I truly feel I've improved in strength and body shape has surely changed, at least that's what people tell me! :):) As Swanso says "pictures will tell", I sure hope so!

Swanso - I'm getting a new computer, you want old one? Probably cost as much to ship as it would to get a new one! :):)

Good for you Holly! Great job!!

For me I didn't lose much and haven't taken measurements yet - guess I forgot! I'll do that today. But I know I learned a lot and feel stronger! I lost most of weight already, and am in the fine tuning phase - guess it just doesn't come off like it did when I started - maybe chiropractor was right - that I need to be realistic. I still need to lose more tummy and thighs......and I will as I won't give up. But I think I need a few days off, body is beat! I ache all over, shins, calves, hamstrings etc.....I think I'm squatted out! So, some serious rest and repair for me!

Hope everyone did well! As soon as I get back on track I'll be posting again in journal - I think recording everything helps bunches and of course the encouragement and advice from everyone here.

Thanks all! Especially thanks to Troy!
Lu

Holly - I just reread your post - 7 inches in 28 days on your waist!!!?!?!?! I want to know "exactly" what you did, because I want some of that!! Definitely need to see Before and After shots - wow! Way to go!!
