Sick

Post by Heelus »

Okay since one year, I'm always sick ... every 1-3 months I have diary, stomach pain and every cold symptom. I've consult a doctor she told me go back home and rest it's normal ... But I know it'S not godamn. Before last summer I can'T even remember the last time I was sick.

am I Paranoid ? I don't believe so, I can'T afford to miss so much workout/job days.

Hello,

can you think of anything that has changed in your diet or even in your life situation since the summer? Depression can affect your entire immune system as can things like annemia whih Dr.s often don't pay attention to.

Do you get enough iron in your diet? In things like red meat, broccolli, leafy greens etc.

Sorry you don't feel well. Thats a bummer. Have you been more stressed this year than in the past? When I was in college I would get sick about 4 times a year and everytime it was during finals week. I think it was because I was always stressed during that time, which affected immune system. Also, are you getting enough sleep? I think sometimes if you don't get enough sleep it can impaire you immune system. If you live in America there is a product called Zicam that I usually take when i first feel like i'm getting sick.. that seems to help me get over illness quicker.

Just thoughts... I'm not a doctor by any means but have noticed that stress and sleep can play a huge role in me getting sick or fighting off a sickness.

Hope you feel better soon!

Good POints, I'm not depressed at all, but don't have a girlfriend anymore work a lot and workout a lot too. I don't have a car and walk all the way. Maybe more sleep, especially during the weekend could possibly help.

In the morning when preparing lunch and gymbag plus uniform for work etc. I am stressed a bit but I can't really control it. DidN't ever tough It could affect immune system.

Diet wise, nothing new to be honest, only more lol. I eat meat, eggs, fish, oatmeal, whey, fish oils and tons of veggies (or when poor, veggies juice only). And everyday I have a multivitamin.

What sort of Doctor tells you that intermittent Stomach Pains are normal?

I don't get Stomach pains. Did one time when I was about 15, for about 3 days and then it went away. If you are getting them, I'd suggest the possible following.

1. Food intolerance(s).

2. Physiological reaction to some kind of medication in the past. This can be a trigger for something like Gastroparesis, a condition that causes Gasrtic emptying issues, (poor food release from the Stomach). I'm not sayign you have this, but it highlights how meds can cause unwanted knock-on effects, that may last beyond the point of discontinuing or course completion.

3. Contaminated water. In some parts of America, there's traces of used meds in the system, owing to people not returning used meds to doctors or pharmacies, but dumping them down the sink or toilet, so it's possible you might get a little of that in Canada too. Can't rule it out at this stage.

4. Possibly some kind of build-up of heavy metals, like Mercury from Fish, or other possibles like Cadmium and Lead sometimes present in water and with Lead possibly airborne too.

5. You've been drinking bottled water from bottles made with poor plastc sources, that can leach into the water. I think ones labelled PET, PETE and LDPE are fine, any others aren't.

6. If you have been cooking with a Teflon coated product, as I believe in North America, but I don't think in Britain, Teflon is made with a chemical in it called PFOA, which is suppsed to be being phased out of Teflon, by around 2015 approx, as it is known to be a bit toxic, and cooks into peoples food.

7. Some kind of hormonal reason, or some kind of intermittent inability to produce digestive enzymes. Not sure how this would happen, but I can't say it isn't possible.

I would at this point be inclined to rule out though some kind of disease based reason, as the symptomology is clearly intermittent as you say, not persistent.

If you are concerned you should probably see either a Gastro-enterologist, or possibly a Toxicologist, if you suspect it might be something stemming from water consumption.

If it is a water based issue, you could buy a Water filter, but don't get a granular one, get a Carbon Block. From memory I think the blocks neutralise trace nasties in the water, kind of like how the granules in a Cat litter tray respond to Cat pee.

Granular filters, can trap trace nasties, then slowly the nasties get sluiced through over time, so eventually pure filtered water becomes impure again.

2) I didn't even ever take a Tylenol

3)In Quebec, i don't believe so, but this may be the issue.

4)Mercury, does a whole can of salmon every 2 day is too much ?

5)Maybe, hard to tell

6)Nope

7)hormonal ? Well I didn't ever had any issue before I move out this summer ...

Thanks a lot for the directions.

Why not try a sauna? Does your gym have one?
I noticed it help me stress less, helps immune system and other good things like helps me with acne.
Of course… if you have a healthy condition and shouldn’t use it… then consult your doctor. :D

Whey wouldn't do it I shouldn't think. Whey is produced from the conversion of Milk to Cheese, by being removed in the process.

As for the Salmon consumption, no I don't think so. I mind, that's a perfectly acceptable consumption level, especially as Salmon is low Mercury Fish.
