Certified Personal Trainers, HELP!!!!!!

Post by efr8e6765 »

I just passed certification through ISSA and wanted to get some tips on how to start a Personal Training business. Do I need to obtain a small business license? Do I need liability insurance? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm in the Colorado Springs area and was wondering about what I should charge. Thanks in advance for your responses.

I actually haven't trained any clients yet. I retired from the US Air Force in Dec 2006 and I'm currently working a desk job. I have been training for over 20 years and I really wanted to help people get in shape so I got certified from ISSA yesterday and now I want to start training people. I just wanted to know how to get started, what do I actually need. Do I need to have a small business license?

well i'm in australia so it wil be different where you are

you'll need to register with someone there if not with the issa although i haven;t heard of them...

then you'll probably need to get yourself into a gym here you'll offer PT to their clients although you'll need to pay rent or something similar to that

or you could do some mobile business in your area where you meet people in parks, go to their houses etc

depends on what's your strengths and what your weaknesses are i suppose

you mmay need offer your services fro free for a little while and let people know your keen
