Wierd Question

Post by stranger2009 »

Im pretty chunky, I come from a family of fat people
And im starting to gain weight and body fat
Now as of right now i dont workout anymore or do any cardio and eat a lot of junk food, And before i get any comments heres why,
I cant workout since i had to quiet the gym to get a job. This is till i can work on getting a permit so then i can drive to a gym at night after work since the current closes gym is 2 miles and i have to walk which it happens to close at 9 pm.
Now next is eating habits, I eat alot but the thing is mom only buys junk food....really...and i dont like much healthy foods but if mom did buy better food I would eat it...and trust me I tryed talking to her and asking her but she wont change what she buys so only thing I can think of is stop eating for fun and eat what i need......

Now question is how can i lose some fat and get healthier with current limits I stated above?

I think if i eat less since i eat for any reason and try best to cut back junk food if I can and start to run more since i dont do ANY cardio i will lose SOME body fat not all I mean this is the only choice I have and i think its the best i can and is way better then what im doing now? what do you guys think i should do? I know people dont get skinny or lose fat or weight unless they are one some strict diet iv heard lot of people tell me tis on other exercise fourms but im hoping this chance, this only thing i can do wil help me lose some extra fat since that extra fat is cuased but overeating and no cardio but if i just never ate that much and ran in the first place i wont be the way i am now, im just trying to get to where i would be normally

so you need motivation is what I hear.

Sorry in advance for the rudeness.....

Get up off your fat and do what you know you need to do. You found this site to ask questions so go through it and find the exercises you can do without a gym, outside, at home, for very little money and get going. Start making your own lunch and breakfeast from the better choices in the house and your snacks. As for family dinner, quit pigging out on the potatoes and pastas and breads!

Walk or bike. Climb the stairs not ride the elevator or escalator. Carry parcels and things instead of pushing them in a cart. Start doing what you told us you should do!

cheers

Stranger 2009,

Congratulations on finding your way to a healthly lifestyle. The advice I have for you is this. You need to be in control of you. No one else is going to do it for you. If you cannot get support from your mom, the change has to begin within yourself. You took the jump and found this site and there are many people on here that can help you jumpstart your way into a heallthier you. It's hard work, takes an enormous amount of discipline. But if you really want to make the change, as NIKE states...JUST DO IT!

Eating and exercice go hand in hand. That being said, don't fall into the trap of any magic pill or exercise machine out there that will do it for you. Companies market those products for people like you desperately seeking a cure for weight loss.

The choices of what you eat are very important and from what you posted you realize that junk food is a real problem. Do the best you can to away from those junkie foods. Easier said than done, I know, but you can do this if you want it bad enough. Good choices would include oatmeal, whole grain cereals, egg whites, chicken breast, tuna, turkey, sweet pototoes, whole wheat pastas, no fat cottage cheese, no fat yogurt, natural peanut butter and rice cakes, tons of fresh (or you can use frozen for your budget) veggies. Salads, broccoli, asparagus, beans, peas....good vibrant green veggies are best. Eating less is not necessarily the best, it depends on what you choose to put into your body that makes the difference.

The majority of posters on this site who are personal trainers or nutritionists will advise you to eat 6 times a day. This keeps your metabolism and sugar levels steady throughout the day so you don't binge at one meal.

As far as the exericse goes, I agree with katiesuarez. There are many things you can do at home facilitate your needs. Check out the exercises on this site to help guide you and try to do some type of cardio at least 30 minutes a day. Once you get your permit and can get to a gym, you will be able to incorporate weights into your fitness plan, assuming you have none at home.

Good luck to you and all your endeavors. Just keep telling yourself that you are worth it and anything can be accomplished if you just stay committed :D

No veggies, no progress. You gotta have veggies in your diet.

I would amend the No Fat Cottage Cheese, and alter that to low Fat Cheese for 2 main reasons.

1. Low Fat Cheese has a much higher Protein content.

2. Low Fat Cheeswe does have 2g Saturates, which isn't anything to worry about, but also 2g Unsaturates per 100g approx, which is healthy fat, so you get potentially the same kind of Vitamin and Mineral content, but more Protein.

Im take your guys advice....as of right now i drank a lot of soda...im stop doing anything with sweats or sodas...and since i still cant but dit food im take your advice above...right now i eat ALOT of burritos (bean and cheese) and mac & cheese and some chili beans and chips with that.

So this is what im start doing with limits

1)stop drinking sodas and eating sweets (stick to fav drink..water!)
2)eat less and when i do eat try best not to make it junk or large amounts of it
3)start to do lot of carido and exercise
4)start to do home workouts with body weight inc practice on boxing bag

does that sound ok for as far as i am possible to go?

As iv said before We dont have healthy foods in house... We do a little bit but due to the money problems we have mom wont buy food for me she buys food everyone can eat since we cant afford no extra special foods so health foods will be hard and as for number 3 and your questions, I have a pullup bar, a like 6 foot or more barbell and some weight you slide on (the higher the bigger 20 pound ones are like 9 inchs long which is ok for barbell but cant use for dumbells) and I have a 100 pound heavy bag and some push up bars...thats it

See goal is........If lets say i was not this fat and was normal if i ran and worked out more i would be normal, not fat, not super skinny, i know this is not the best way to go but going from sitting on everyday eating to doing something is better and best i can do to get rid of the EXTRA fat i gained for sitting around to level me out to where i shoulds be normal...once im at that normal level then id had no choice to diet.

See what am trying to do is if I ran and exercised and was eating a normal amount of food daily not eating for fun or bored. I would not have this extra body fat that I have now, So im trying to do best on what I got. I know this is not the best I got but its all I have, So im thinking if I go for, sitting on all day to running more and not eating sweets and such, It will get rid of the extra body fat I got from overeating for fun and doing nothing. and bring me down to what normal weight would have been if i never started this lazy overeating self. and once i get rid of the extra body fat to normal body appeal with exercises and such I know from there i would have to diet since Thats all I can do, Like a friend of mines mom and other people iv talked to. they went from doing nothing to running everyday and working out and such and they lost 20 pounds and 30 just form that BUT after that they were not able to lose anymore cause the extra body fat was gone and there normal body fat amount and they could not lose anymore unless they went on a diet or eat healthy instead of junk.

Sorry for extra long post im just not good at explain heres a little picture

Image

Yellow=Fat Amount On Diet

Green=Fat Amount If I Was In A Sport Or Something Running/Exercises Not Eating Almost None Sugars

Blue=All The Fat Gained For doing Nothing At All And overeating

All I need to do is lose that extra fat marked blue in little picture

does that make scene?

here's what it is...

you need to eat the right foods id on't care what other people did...get a job and buy some if you need to

search bodyweight circuits on youtube and do them x 3/week

instead of running do sprints 5 x 50m, 30secs rest x 2/week

Healthy food isn't always expensive Stranger.

Eggs are cheap.

Some foods come with 2 for 1 deals some weeks, so take full advantage.

You will find that even things like Baked Beans and Tinned Peas aren't too expensive, and aren't a really bad choice.

Meat may not be too expensive either itdepends on what you're buying. A Pork Chop is obviously not going to cost the same as a Peice of Sirloin.

Plus if you go to a Butchers or a Supermarket with a Butchery section, you might find you get a bulk buy discount.

Another slight possible is to see if any slaughterhouses sell to the public, and maybe you could buy a small animal carcass, store it in a deep freezer, and hack off what you need each time, as that might be cheaper. I believe that sometimes does happen, or maybe a butchr can do it. Just go in thee and say, I'll take that lump of Pork hanging on your hook, and he'll do you a litle bit off the price, becasue it's less hassle to chop it up into about 20-30 pieces instead, especially if you agree to take it home, store it, and chop it up yourself, you're doing him a favour, he might do you one as well.

Also find things like Rick bags, with sachets in, as they might be cheaper, the bigger the boxes.

Also it probably cost little to nothing more to buy skimmed or semi-skimmed milk compared to regular.

Also perhaps buy yoghurts, as a failr chepa way to get nutrition, and buy the ones with Nuts not Fruit. Fruit digestion will be impeded by the Yoghurt, but Nuts won't and Nuts contain good things like Healthy Fats, Fat Soluable Vitamins, Magnesium, Selenium, Copper etc etc,

If you find regular Pasta a bit on the pricey side perhaps, then suck it up and buy canned. At leats the Tomato sauce has Lycopene in it, which si good for fighting skin aging free radicals, anti-cancer properties, and converts to Vit A.

Not quite as good as fresh stuff, but not really that bad at all, but at the least the sauce shouldn't be as bad as Ketchup, which is very sugary.

Maybe buy a Protein and Carb powder. Have half a scoop with Breakfast, maybe another as an afternoon snack perhaps when pushed for time, and if needs be supplement your mineral and Vit needs with half a Multi-vit a day, to save money on Supplement costs.

If you want to eat better, you might not necessarily get it spot on, but certainly you can make some changes, rather than being resigned to your lot.

You just have to be canny and sometimes think outside of the box.

use your weekly allowance to buy some yogurts, tuna eggs or some protein shakes. they aint that expensive really.
