Do you keep a workout journal?
Does keeping a log necessary in weight training? I am just a beginner and does not have much luck in weight lifting in the past. I wonder if keeping a a log will produce result. I would appreciate if you share with me whether you need a log in weight training and how do you go about it? Do using paper log enough or is using mobile phone software such as www.doitech.com/fitness mobile personal trainer[/URL] a better choice. Thank you very much.
keeping a training log is definatley a requirement of training...also a food log is a must.. doing this you can go back see when you got results, what worked for you and what didn't when nothing happened...also worth noting is hrs of sleep a night and the quality if sleep which will correspond with energy levels during training which should aklso be kept...i'll send a sample to your pm...i keep mine in a workbook and have about 10 of them at home from over the yrs
I keep a log and I find it very helpful. I typically recommend it, but some people really don't think they need it. I know that I couldn't possibly remember the weights I used last on each exercise. It's good to know what I used last time so I can know what to start with, and I can keep track of weight increases.

thank for your comments, just wondering
why i rarely or never see anyone in the gym with a notebook. Those big boy does not carried any workout log from obersavtion. Thank you
those "big boys" are obviously very experienced in what tyhey do and they know what they respond to from a lot of trial and error...basically they can probably go as heavy as they like all they just need to decide is what rep range they wanna go for and choose a wt that's "there abouts"...this is what they learnt from keeping a log early in their training...for anybody who isn't at that level, a training log is essential
I'd be gratefull if you could tell me which muscles to train a week.swanso5 wrote:those "big boys" are obviously very experienced in what tyhey do and they know what they respond to from a lot of trial and error...basically they can probably go as heavy as they like all they just need to decide is what rep range they wanna go for and choose a wt that's "there abouts"...this is what they learnt from keeping a log early in their training...for anybody who isn't at that level, a training log is essential
I don't know if I should do biceps and chest on monday, triceps and back on tuesday, legs and shoulders on wednesday, then take a day off.
Or do biceps chest monday, day off, wednesday do triceps and back, day off, friday legs shoulders, day off, etc..
Thanks in advance
