hi all,

I have not been visiting the forums, but I have been maintaining a descent diet and workout plan....I have been reading a lot about Intermittent Fasting.

and I planning to give IF a try..I have dinner today at 9:00 PM and will have next meal tomorrow at around 1:00 PM..though I planning to sleep through most of the time but it would be interesting to see how I hold up for 2-3 hours after waking up..

there is never any need to restict cal's like that...if you want to lose wt and put it back on then do it nut your metabolism, the single most important factor for fat loss (yes even over diet) will suffer because of it

What attracted me toward IF was not for fat loss but health benefit. It like skipping 1 meal and making up for the calories in rest of the meals. Still eating healthy through out the day and doing high intensity strength training.

I have heard some good feedback on crossfit where ppl have said that there performance have not declined on IF.

Ohh and I still believe that building muscle is best way for fat loss just exploring how calorie restriction will effect and I am not talking about huge number but just in small quantities...may be on off days only..

Well yeah if you don't eat a lot you can still get stronger but your not going to grow any big muscles so if you want to be tiny but strong then don't eat a lot but your metabolism will suffer greatly.

did they improve though? that's what it's all about

i just don't why you would wanna skip meals

at any one time you are either in anabolism (building muscle) or catabolism (burning muscle) and the more you can be in the first one the better but without food you can't be

I have read good things and I guess only way o find is to experiment on myself and see how it feels.
