Post by milly »

To work towards a toned physique which way gives the better results:
heavy wt/low reps or low wt/high reps.

Swanso5

mostly depends on calorie intake[/quote]

Why is that?

I am probably asking a question where the answer is obvious to you, but I guess no question is a dumb one when you are learning!

Thank you again.

tone isn't a word, i like defintion better

muscle mass + decreased body fat = definition

for the first part of the equation (mass) you need a calorie surplus where you eat more cal's than you use

the second part requires a calories deficit where you eat less than your using

obviously both can't be done at once so you need to go through both stages individually

to basically answer your question almost any program will build muscle if cal's are high enough or decrease body fat if cal's are low enough but there are more efficient ways to do so

i'm big on heavy wt with low reps and high sets for both
