Morning ladies,
On tap for me today.....Morning workout sculpting workout from Prevention using a resistance band (reverse lunge, wood chop, ski jump, kneeling push up, one-leg row, speed curl, kickback, crunch press, leg lift and bicycle; For the evening, an oldie but a goodie Stand and Deliver core workout
Bama, I looked at the commercials in the stories on line and I agree not the same caliber of commercials from the past. However, I did get to see favs of the Lab puppy and the horses....plus some of the other older ones that are classics.
Yes I enjoyed Fancy Dancer too and Desperate Measures I believe I have in library....I will have to check.
Hope the ring is all done for you and you can find some good books at Good Will.
Well I am off to do morning checks and then breakfast, workout and a grocery list for Wednesday and the list goes on LOL
Sue

Afternoon ladies,
Well morning workout will be changing for the month to "Morning workout sculpting workout from Prevention using a resistance band (reverse lunge, wood chop, ski jump, kneeling push up, one-leg row, speed curl, kickback, crunch press, leg lift and bicycle;" as couldn't get the band on the furniture for 3 of the moves and just wasn't happy with the workout. Thinking that is why I haven't done it in so long, so it's now gone to the garbage....will do one I have done before and really like for the remainder of the month.....WHM 6 Resistance Band Moves for a Full Body Burn (Air-Sit Alternating Row, Oblique Mixers, Lunging Chest Press, Sideways Walks with Bonus Biceps, Single Leg Balance with Overhead Press, Single Side Leg Press;
Got part of our grocery list done...now I am off to on line checks, pictures and the list goes on....salmon is cooking and it's now beeping at me...
Hope you are having a nice day,
Sue

Re: Sisters in Sweat Journal (but all are welcome)
Sorry about the workout, Sue, but at least you have a back-up handy.
Hope you are happy with your ring, and found some good books, Bama.
I'm not a Gaga fan either, but I thought the half-time show was fun. It was relatively clean and non-political, and I thought it was entertaining. I liked it much better than last year's. I didn't watch the game past the half-- teams weren't playing so I was just in it for the ads and the snacks.
I'm sorry about your headaches, too, Sue.
Yay on the TM, Chris. Your feet are feeling better?
Ha, your piano sounds like mine, Bekah---I think the pedals are fine but it hasn't been tuned in probably 25 years! Considering that playing is limited to "Papa Haydn" and "Swans on the Lake," there is no tuning planned for the near future either.
I am impressed by both of you, Chris and Bekah, and your music lessons--I think they are great for the brain.
I'm sorry about the Facebook friends, Bama. I was hoping the rancor would all die down post-election, but it doesn't really seem like that's happened. I have friends with views all over the spectrum, and just figure everyone has the right to their own opinion. I'm certainly not going to argue with anyone.
Great job on sticking with the workouts--even if without weight loss, it's important to work out for long-term health.
Wow, that sounds like a fun collaboration with your mom, Bekah. Good luck with your career goals! SIL was singing at open mics for a while, but I don't think he has been in the past year.
Hope you are enjoying your dog-sitting, YAH.
poor DD's cat passed away in her lap Friday night. He was 16, and had never really been healthy, so it was amazing he lived as long as he did. She spent way more on his vet bills than she ever spent on healthcare for herself. Anyway she was feeling pretty wrecked on Sat., but had to go skate in the derby season opener. They played a men's team and she ended up with a black eye from someone's shoulder, so it was a very rough weekend for her.
I'm just glad she's got her husband, who is very emotionally supportive.
Sweet dreams, everyone~

Happy Tuesday all!
Well the eating is going well. I am on day 4 of clean eating and staying away from the scale. I can say that I am feeling less full all the time (but not hungry either). I am planning to eat clean until Valentines Day then take the day off then right back to it.
I didn't have the energy to workout on Sunday and Monday was very busy. Today I walked to work so I will get 2 of 20 minute walks in.
Hi Mo, good to hear from you. Glad you enjoyed the Super Bowl time. feet are good some days and not on others.
I just listen to what body needs and go from there. Sorry about your DD's cat. Those losses are hard on a person.
Sorry about the workout not working Sue. I hope your change up works better for you.
Hi Bama I hope you had a good monday. Sounds like a nice relaxing weekend you had.
TTFN!

Chris i didn't realize or forgot that you played the piano. I sometimes don't play fast for effect. i have a tendency just to play a little fast when i'm being critiqued by teacher especially.
Really nice that your hubby likes to hear you play.
Sue good job on January! I do wish gaining weight was problem.
i have to sign up for the comics still but i will. you got me liking them.
Bama i didn't watch the superbowl. I went to someone's house but chatted the whole time.
I'm not tuning mine either Mo. I actually if i do anything will buy a keyboard. But not right now.
The book is a little scary because it has illustrations in it and it's not cheap to do. Formatting is the most difficult. I just worry about doing it correctly for mom.
sorry about the cat passing. It is really hard and there is definitely a void when they pass. mom use to say the same thing about me that i spent more on dog's teeth than i did own.
Have a nice week everyone.

Hi All and Happy Wednesday!
Yesterday I did an extra 30 minute walk at lunch time on top of walks to and from work. We are having a bit of winter weather here so I am again walking to and from work. We had snow and ice pellets so I did a bit of shovelling this morning. The forecast was for 4-6 hours of freezing rain. SOOO GLAD that didn't happen!!
That is the time you want them to get the forecast WRONG!
Yes Becky I do play just not very often. I am like Mo, mostly Swans on the Lake and easy stuff. I always mess up more when I am at lessons because someone is watching.
Have a good day all!

Afternoon and evening to many of you,
Molasses, thanks on the workout. We don't listen to any new stuff today, have an oldies station on all day and our own stuff. We did hear Gaga a year or back I think it was singing the National Anthem and were impressed. Not to say I'd like her music as most stuff today I don't like.
I took down the commercials and stuff on Super Bowl so will see when I do stories. However, did see some on You Tube and wasn't very impressed.
Allergy headaches and mouth ache ones Molasses, they come and go.
Unfortunately Molasses, I don't think the rancor is going anywhere until he's out of there. I feel the same way Molasses, everyone is entitled to their opinion. As you know not a FB fan and many of old BHG friends are thinking of leaving now with all the political stuff going on.
Oh Molasses, I am so so sorry to hear about your DD's cats' passing. Plus the poor thing got black eyes...HUGS and healing vibes to her and condolences on her furbaby's passing.
Congrats on the clean eating and yup sometimes the scale is NOT our friend. It's not always weight, plus remember muscle weighs more. Must be a good plan is you are not feeling full but not hungry either. Good plan on sticking with it through V day.
Sounds like the walks to work will make up for Sunday and Monday, plus as you say you were busy so any activity counts.
Yes the change up is a great one and I really like it.
Thank on the January results, Bekah. You can send some of the weight to me, like Bama wants too.
Oh we love our comics....I think you will too. I can send you list if you want....let me know.
What are you using for the formatting and illustrations, Bekah?
Congrats on the extra 30 minute walk at lunch time, Chris. I see more winter weather for you. Careful with the walking. I see shoveling too for you....so more of a workout. Yeah freezing rain is not liked by anyone. Nice soft, fluffy snow is much better.
Great on the workouts, Bekah.
Well I am off, email with grocery report went out today...was a great trip so we are happy campers. Saved bucks and all done.
Hope everyone has a nice night,
Sue

I have never subscribed to that view. In mind 1lf of anything is the same as 1lb of something else, regardless of whether it's 1lb of sand, feathers, granite, concrete or dust or anything basically.whenlifewassimpler wrote: It's not always weight, plus remember muscle weighs more.
That's not to poo-poo what you said, it's just point of view

Hi All,
30 minute walk for me at lunch time today. Still eating clean. I made a green sauce for salad dressing or dip today (avocado, basil, cilantro garlic...) and it is very tasty.
True enough Boss Man. 1lb is 1lb but jeans fit better with 1lb of muscle than 1lb of fat.
Thanks Sue. Glad you had a great shopping trip.
Great job with the workouts Becky!

Happy Friday All!
I got up at 5 and started day by walking up and down the driveway scooping the 8 inches of snow that we got last night. So 45 minutes of walking this morning. I am really happy as I just returned from lunch and managed to eat out and stay with clean eating!
I wasn't sure it was going to be possible in a pub. I had a garden salad with grilled chicken on it and took own dressing. Delish!
Have a great day all!

Afternoon ladies,
A very busy day however, did get it all done and got to listen to Lita Ford, Poison and Warrant while I was cleaning bathrooms.....3 of favs and love Poison's Fire and Ice, plus the very upbeat Unskinny Bop, in addition to the other songs on the cassette. One of favorite groups, along with Warrant and yes the one Cherry Pie is on.
Plus then the History of Rock n' Roll, and then M.G. Kelly this afternoon with American Hit List...and he just played American Pie as I finished up comics...
Now off to do a quick mail check and do the meds, breathing, lay down thingy....
Hope your day went well and your weekend is a good one.

Re: Sisters in Sweat Journal (but all are welcome)
Happy Sunday everyone ,
Wow the weather is sure crazy here . a couple of days ago was 21 degrees , yesterday was 65 , today a little cooler . Crazy for sure.
Not much going on here same ole same ole. Been busy here in the house . trying to do a little bit of decorating . We left so much of that stuff in Bama so have to replace wall hangings etc. Did keep a few things that go on the wall but it is taking forever for Husband to put them up for me. Next time he leaves for the day , I am going to do it. LOL>
OH Oh . We have had that same discussion on another forum about Muscle weighing more than fat. It does not . A pound of feathers weighs the same as a pound of rocks. Muscle is just denser and of course takes up less room than fat .
Glad to see you are still eating clean , Chris . whole problem is eating . I know it but don't have the will power to change it.
Sue sorry you are not sleeping . hubby slept 10 hours last night . Me about 6 . Not a big sleeper . Maybe that is what is holding weight on. LOL. Whatever. I don't really believe that. Some people require more sleep than others.
I too thought the Super Bowl half was decent this time. That is all I watch because I am not a football fan . I actually dvr'd it and then ran though till I came to the half . I don't really like Lady G but she did put on a good show and yes no politics. The Grammys are on tonight and I usually watch but may skip it as I know there will be digs on there and I am so tired of it all.
Take care all.

Good early morning all and Happy Monday!
Well I had a good weekend mostly. Friday night I stepped off clean eating. I have been eating mostly clean with a few not clean things off and on all weekend. I am okay with it. It is about balance.
I wasn't feeling great part of saturday so just relaxed. Sunday was great we took the kids sliding in the morning, then I spent the afternoon scraping a layer of compacted snow off driveway. It was a fabulous day and nice to be outside in the fresh air.
This morning I am up early. We are in the midst of a blizzard here. They are saying we are to get a foot of snow and high winds.
It is winter after all. So I suspect there will be more snow scooping going on for me today. Just waiting to see if work cancels the day or not. I am suspecting it will just not sure when.
Have a great day all!
