WOW February 16th to 22nd

Laugh about, live and enjoy being over 50, or talk about those over 50 even if you're not, because aging doesn't have to be a chore.

Good Afternoon all! Just popping in again to say I hope you all have a very nice day and weather to go with it also :D It started out all sunny but clouds are coming in but not suppose to get rain though unless a very fine shower. Going up towards 70 maybe. But doesn't feel hot with the breeze right now at all. Glad no call in although I wish I had worked a day this week so I don't so unworkable:) But I still hate getting called in.
Mo, well, sounds like your all going to be southerner's then?:) If I didn't like the U.P. so much, I would go south too:) Its just that there's not too much worry up here when your older with crime and all and more able to go by yourself to do more stuff that way. But, if your kids are around, that is the key to happiness right? I got some clothes on the line also today:) Got to go clean the sauna out also.
Sue, hoping you have or had a good shopping ride and lots of sale's also today!! I like getting cool with a fan, not really A/C. Its a different kind of cold I think. Work has it but it doesn't come on until the temp outside is 60+ and it doesn't get to the laundry either. And if its not on, the heat is on :? So lots of fan but in there, it blows around the hot air  For the few days here at home, don't need no A/C. Guess we have to save for the heat in the winter that way:) At least i hope the electric bill goes down now without the pump on all the time! Love the kitty cat pic's :D I kind of wish the squirrels would go away now and let just the chipmunks come to eat. Dh is getting sick of them too so....
Bama, have you got to use your car to go places yet? No grass cutting yet here and its still brown. DB said we should burn it but we have fire restrictions on here although this isn't even taller than 4 in. grass.
Hope anyone seeing this has a very good day and you are enjoying some blossoms or flowers by now too. Nothing here yet, maybe a few little buds coming on tree's. Should go check on the arbutus leaves I saw out there though:) Have a fabulous Friday and a wonderful weekend also!! :coffee: :sunshine:

Afternoon ladies,

YAH glad no call in for you and I see your weather was very nice most of the day, hope the rain was very light. Yes being where your kids are is what's important, IMHO and I don't even have any LOL

No shopping as we weren't feeling well, didn't sleep much and so cancelled the trip and will just do it with Terri next week.

I agree, much prefer the fan too, most of the summer we have both on. I just wish they had put ceiling fans in every room LOL I love those things.

Yeah I am with you not going to enjoy having to pay PG&E and it seems their rates are always going up. GRRRR

Well off to nap time....a good weekend to all,

Good Morning Yah and Sue and Mo.

Seems I forget to post over here but will try to do better .

Nothing going on here . Our life seems to be hum drum or pretty regular. Son came over yesterday and reformatted both computers . So I still need to get some things put back in.

Weather is great this week and week end. Hoping to get to the dam for a walk but not sure . It is someplace I am not real familiar with and waiting to have someone go with me as I am (don't laugh) afraid I could get lost . I can get twisted around sometimes especially when I am somewhere unfamiliar . They should be busy so I'm sure someone would help me out if need be.

hot water faucet on the washer has broken so I can't turn it on until we replace it and we are having a tough time finding the handle . went to Lowes, Mennards and Home depot , stop at some Plumbers and no one has ever seen the part . It's a smaller area then the norm.

DH wants to run to Krogers so I need to cut this short .

Happy Sunday .

Bama, sometimes hum drum can be good, glad your son did your computers and yeah now the boring part of having to put all the stuff back on.

Bummer on the hot water faucet. Hey I wouldn't walk somewhere I am not familiar with as I would get lost too.... sense of direction in the unfamiliar is NOT good LOL

Well hope you get to go as it sounds nice and have a nice Sunday.

A nice Sunday to all,

Sue

Fans work best for me. I don't like open windows, as it just lets things like wasps an flies and mosquitoes in and people say get a small fly screen, but then I've got some silly little thing to pay for that I've got find storage space for whereas a fan doesn't need storage, it has it designated place and stays there all year round and I actually get a cooling sensation where I want it, which is actually on me, not around me

HI, just to say good night as I was called in today surprisingly and at first didn't get the phone in time and waited and had coffee etc., so finally called an hr. later but they said I could come and I made it within the hr. of work starting anyway:) I didn't really care if I got paid for that hr. or not, just wanted the extra time to move slower in the morning:) I had patch on Sunday and did go Marq. to Walmart to get water bunches and other things of course once I was in there. Never did make it to the big lake though as it was 4:30 pm by that time and black clouds so went to son's in work town and it was a T-storm then!! I guess west of there had hail that was on the ground for some time even. I waited around for son's anyway and got home after 9 pm and was up until midnight thinking I don't work. Now I do work tomorrow. Seems I go a week without and then more and more. I could have worked Thurs. also but told this other lady she can work it as she's going for foot surgery soon. I do work Fri. and Sat. Wish son would have told me no one was at their house as would have been nice to stay there on a Sat. night since I wasn't working and catch a sunrise on the lake then and enjoy more. The pic of flowers is SO pretty Sue!! Love all your pic's:) Glad your ME day went a bit better too and you slept well last night I hope.? Bama, I would go by myself if there's a trail to follow or if any other older or nice hikers are going, just kind of tag along behind:) But then again, its not up here so I don't know how it is there. I need to climb Sugarloaf mountain on of these days!! Slowly :? And then i can call son's up and say I'm up there  Hope you find the handle for your washer thing. I know some things are very hard to find up here when their old or different from the one's out there now. Great that your son worked your computer also:) Have a very good night of sleep everyone!! Will catch up sometimes yet also. I love fans also Bossman:) Seems I always have one on, even sleeping for the noise:) Although I do open window with screens on them now for the fresh nice Spring air finally! Once it gets, if it gets, Hotter, will have to close things up a bit until night maybe. Went with son to get a new screen/storm door for his house so he can open the door and have air come in that way also without the cats escaping :D So I don't have the extra time anymore tonight and didn't get some things done I was going to do today when I thought I didn't work. take care!

Glad you got to take your time a bit this morning, YAH--I hate it when I wake up and feel like I'm behind before I even get started--so much nicer to enjoy a nice hot cup of coffee while gathering your thoughts! I hope you'll take a picture to share with us when you are at the top of Sugarloaf. :thumb: Yup, nice to be able to see the kids regularly so as much as I love the north, I think we'll probably be moving south.

I'm a fan fan, too, Boss Man--I like open windows for the fresh air (all our windows are screened though) and fans for the breeze. I even have a small fan that clips to the headboard to use at night.

Cute kitten, Sue, and thanks, I did have a relaxing Sunday. DD even came over for a while in the evening, so that was a treat. And I agree--hum drum can be good! Peaceful! Beautiful picture of the primroses. I had a few in a flowerbed last year but I think the colder than normal winter killed them--no sign of them yet.

Hope the reformatting helps your computers run better, Bama. I don't blame you for not going to the dam by yourself, I probably wouldn't either unless there are always crowds. When DH and I used to go to running at Round Valley State Park, we'd sometimes see a girl out there by herself and I'd always end up worrying about her! Good luck in your faucet handle hunt.

I cut some lilacs to bring in last night, so I've been sniffing them all day. :D It was great laundry weather today, too, so washed sheets and a load of clothes and hung them out. You know that makes it a good day for me!

Sweet dreams, everyone!

Afternoon all, Well I never got to the Dam . Maybe this weekend . I don't know how busy they are but the few times I have been there there have been a lot of people walking, runnnig and riding bikes and walking their dogs. This was on the weekend and I plan on going during the week when I get around to it.

Nothing else here today . We did our usual errands. Now I am catching up with Dancing with the Stars . I fell asleep before it was over last night .

Oldest stayed home from school today so Dad called and ask that we be on the look out for her . She hasn't called so I assume all is ok . She will only be alone for a couple of hours until her Mom get home.

Yah, is it getting warm there yet . I know you are usually behind us on weather . We are having some nice days here this week.

Have a lovely rest of the day Ladies.

Hi ladies,

YAH sorry about the call in to work. However, I see you made it in time for work anyway. Glad you got out and about to Marq. Bummer on not getting to the lake though. Yikes on the t-storm and glad you got to son's anyway and I see you had a late night too. HUGS on all the work hours but think of the dollars and plus you are at least closer to town and your son's too. Sorry you didn't know about the house being empty....that is a bummer. Thanks on the flower pics...they have done a wonderful job here with landscaping. Glad I got pics of all the fountains in the early years as with the drought now they did drain them all and put in rocks.

I am with you both Bossman and YAH, love the fans going and windows open too. We are sorry now we didn't have the money for the screen door they were offering here when we first moved in (the apartment wasn't but one of the guys had one he was selling that fit our front door areas) oh well.

I am with both you and Molasses I don't like to rush in the morning....with cup of tea and breakfast and car magazine LOL

Glad you got to relax on Sunday, Molasses. Plus got to see DD too. Glad you enjoyed the primroses. Sorry to hear about yours...one of the perks about living in California.

Sorry you didn't get to the dam, Bama. Sounds nice and busy there too. I am with you, I'd go with less traffic LOL Hope oldest is alright and is doing better.

Well I am off to comics and then breathing, meds and nap time.

Sue

Good Day all and hope you all are having nice weather and enjoying your days:) I at least got a few off and work the next 2 for sure. For the lady I work for, I'm the first one on dryers so a lot of heavy big loads to put in so I will be sore later on I guess. And clean the dryers and sweep and all later too. Its suppose to maybe get up to 80 today and windy south wind so fire danger is high but rain and t-storms south of us will cool us off again to 50's etc. for the next days. So far, not too hot yet. I see their having snow in area' s south of us even but not here. I am still waiting for any flowers though or apple blossoms etc.:( Haven't gone to look for the first Spring flowers Arbutus yet either.
Bama, I think Mo is right if your going alone, go when more people around:) Hope your **** was ok for the few hrs. too:) Have you gone much with your car? I should have gone yesterday or today but with work tomorrow, not sure of going now. I can't seem to kick myself out hard enough :?
Mo, I'm sure you enjoyed your DD and had a lovely ME day then. And, I can't blame you for wanting to be by your kids either and it will be warmer for the outside stuff most of the year then also down south :D You can plant more maybe? I know you'd love that:) Yes, now that a lot of the NMU students are gone, good time for Sugarloaf hike:) They do have places to rest on the way up:) And not too hot a day would be better too I guess. Hope I make it soon.
Sue, I'm sure you had a good shopping day and deals galore!:) Now today I hope you are resting a little bit or had a good night's sleep? Dh woke me up at 5:15 a.m asking did I have to go work today:( I told him No, not so far. And was up until he left for work as he took a shower then, and didn't come down until closer to 6:30 a.m then but I was up. I need a Much Louder fan on:) :wowzer:
Well getting cloudy a bit but we're Not suppose to get rain but around here, you never know. Glad its suppose to be cooler tomorrow. Hope you all enjoy your day and have a very good night also :D

Hi ladies,

Oh YAH sorry about all the extra work you had to do, it's not like you don't do enough already. Yikes and hot weather for you too, I know how much you "dislike it"....hope the fans were on at full blast. Plus good music too.

We had some very bad storms here and in the mountains even worse, plus snow in the higher elevations too. But we need it all.....so hope it keeps coming.

Yes as you know by now a great shopping day, just tuckered out and achy and yes took it a bit easy the next day.

Well I am off to work on hubby's anniversary present...after breathing and meds, skipping nap.

A wonderful Mother's Day to all....

DD and SIL are coming over for dinner today; hard to believe they are getting ready to leave already!

I had book club last night so the late night meant some trouble getting started this morning. I did get the shrimp peeled and deveined and marinating. (The menu is shrimp tacos, corn on the cob, fruit salad, and a new dip recipe I saw online with cheese, black beans, quinoa, and enchilada sauce. Black bean brownies with pb frosting for dessert.)

Good luck with your anniversary project, Sue.

Hope you aren't too sore today, YAH, and work goes well.

Bama, hope you have some nice dam-walking weather this weekend!

Happy Mother's Day, everyone~
