Fat Loss So Six Pack Shows
Hi there, I was wondering what tips you all might have for reducing fat so a six pack can show through? I know you can't really spot-reduce fat, but I also know core is fairly strong and would look awesome but for the little bit of flub covering the muscles. I have the typical trouble zones of just under the button and the love handles. At this point, I'm 15lbs down from where I started, so it's pretty much cosmetic annoyance, but I'd love some tips to it anyway. If you have tips that are gender specific, husband is having the same troubles. He's down almost 40lbs, and he hates the little bit of he still has. We're both frustrated; please help!

Diet is the key. It depends on how you eat. I can't recall but have you posted your daily eating habits before, because if not we can certainly review those, but if you have then please do refer to whatever was said

You took a look at diet in "sexy back" post. you said it should be fine. I also have a nutiritionist friend taking a look at diet. He's trying to decide if carbs are in the right place. I've been cheating a bit in the last couple weeks. So I'll be cleaning that up and scaling back the amount of chocolate I eat. I'm sure that'll help lol. I've had a major diet change about three months ago. The sugar cravings were insane, but they're calming down now, and I'd rather eat fruit than chocolate. If I can stop cheating on diet restrictions, maybe the six pack question will solve itself.

Hi nice to talk to you,
I am new to this site, but not to personal training. I was looking over some ove your previous conversations, to get an idea where you are in your training. It looks like bossman is giving you good advice, I just want to interject a quick note. If you would like to have abs show more, you do need to increase the cardio a bit. I have seen that you have limited time for workout, maybe you could hit gym in a split cycle, either before or after work for 20-30 min of cardio only workout. Hope this is helpful and good luck.

Thanks CHP. How often are you thinking? I'm considering adding some cardio on the weekends, since I only exercise during the week. Would that be sufficient, or more during the week, too?

Hi Office girl,
Your body does need rest, try and take at least one complete rest day and one active rest day. If I remember right you are hitting gym 4 times a week, it would be best to do at least 20-30 min aerobic per workout. If you must do aerobic on weekend try to get 45 min per workout and do nothing on your down day during the week. Watch your heart rate. If you give me your age and resting heart rate, I can give you an approximate heart rate zone to keep in, as long as you don’t have any pre existing heart condition. Start on lower end and work up to higher.
Hope this helps,
CHP

Diet is definitely key to getting rid of the fat, eating smaller meals throughout the day and eating clean makes a big difference:)

Yes take care food habit. Ignore fat, high calorie stuffs. I would suggests have enough food each day so that you can comfortably handle your day-to-day work and exercises. Get at least 30 minutes of moderate exercise 5 days a week. Walking counts, as long as it's brisk enough that you work up a sweat and breathe harder, with your heart rate faster than usual.
Hope that works for you.

You can make it easy to reach your goal of eliminating your fat by combining a good diet with aerobic and stomach building exercise.
1. Consider going on a diet and reducing the amount of fatty food you eat.
2. Do aerobic conditioning exercises such as brisk walking for 30 or more minutes five or more days a week.
3. Try doing weighted sit ups or pushing and pulling or moving back and forth a chair or other object that has books or weights on it with your legs.
