Re: Weight Training Progression after Age 60
I think you may be surprised if you asked one of them to spot you.I know myself and a few others don't mind being asked and would offer help to someone who needed it. As far as the weights I'm sure when you were lifting 25 pounds you never thought you would go up to 35 pounds but you did so don't se...

hang cleans
I'm trying to incorporate them into routine.I workout 3 days a week I do all the compound lifts.I just don't know how I can fit them in.I dead lift one day, squat another and bench or miitary press on the 3rd day plus assistance work.Really don't want to take out the dead or squat but is it going int...

Re: CAN SOMEONE please. check if im doing this right :)?
you will burn out first an fast if you continue to do squats and deadlifts heavy 3 times a week.Try and switch lunges for 1-2 of the squat days and take out the middle deadlift day and see if you start to lift more weight.Really shouldn't do cardio on an empty stomach either. You seem to have the oth...
Re: core work
Thanks for the input...you're the best. Is working in that roman's chair or captain's chair or whatever they call it,is that the same as doing those hanging pike things or whatever they call those. So I could do a plank,a pallof press and a roman chair core work thing each week? PS Channel 2 news ne...
Re: core work
but doesn't the extra core work help with lifts.I can't really tell if lifts are getting better(maybe yes) core was slowly getting tighter when I was just doing the lifts(about 2 years)but the difference in the last month has been somewhat significant
core work
started doing pallof presses.I started them about 4 weeks ago can really feel the tightning.I like doing them.I work out full body 3 times a week and do them at the end of workout.I do all the big lifts(deads, squats etc). question is...is it ok to continue to do the same core work(3 sets X time) as ...

Re: hip pain
I'll continue with the deadlifts.
If I was to make a self diagnosis I would go with that hip bursa.Just seems too localized for sciatica and definitley not as painful, just annoying. wallet has no money so it's pretty flat

Re: hip pain
long drives bother both knee and hip. Will have to put that in the equation. But don't usually have problems in the gym.It just seemed to get worse after each session of the rdl's then get better as the week wore on.Like I said I guess I'll either go back to the regular deads or take a small break and...

Re: hip pain
technique seems to be different for the regular deads and the stiff leg.Stiff leg maybe has more of the tension as your holding the lift for 4-6 reps rather than the deads which are more like individual lifts. hamstrings seem to be a lagging part and trying to get them up to snuff but I may just go ...

Re: hip pain
I had a standing job for 25 years and now the last 8 have been a sitting job.....at a desk in front of a computer. never had any sciatica stuff going on but it really seems whether coincidental or not that it started about 3-4 sesions ago. It's really been noticeable after the saturday session this i...

hip pain
I was doing stiff leg DL's the last couple of weeks. Not sure it's related but seem to be getting a sharp pain the next day. Not sure if they call it the gluteus minimus or if it's actually the hip joint itself.I was doing regular dl's for a while(over a year) and decided maybe the rdl's for better h...

a weaker leg
when doing single leg stuff(step ups especially) with weights.I'll go 10 reps right leg leaving maybe 1 or 2 in the tank but can only get 7-8 with left and actually last rep may not be perfect form. now the question is if I wait to get left leg up to 10 reps with same weight is the right leg actuall...
