The Tortoise Diet uses the old fable of the Tortoise and the Hare as an analogy to expose the fallacies of quick-weight loss "hare-brained" diets. Quick weight loss always results in the loss of a huge amount of muscle tissue, which is the calorie-burning machinery of the body. This loss of muscle always results in a slowed metabolism, a weight-loss plateau, discouragement and eventual re-gaining of any weight that was lost!

The Tortoise Diet teaches the reader a new way to look at weight loss by providing a series of step-by-step assignments to learn twenty-five essential habits to lose weight slowly, but permanently.
